Chapter 1256: Chapter 1256: Drawing Lots (4)

Yang Ruxin felt cornered, and even though she despised Wanren Villa, she temporarily lacked the power to confront them. Moreover, she needed their Blood-drinking Sword, so no matter what, she wouldn’t want to make enemies with Wanren Villa.

Song San exchanged a glance with Yang Ruxin, then even cracked a slight smile before confidently stepping onto the stage.

Yang Ruxin’s eyes flickered. If she saw it right, his look told her he wouldn’t expose her.

"Are you sure you want to go up?" Gu Qingheng whispered in Yang Ruxin’s ear.

"Why not go up?" Yang Ruxin patted Gu Qingheng’s arm. "It’s such a good opportunity, we can’t miss it." She had been worried about how to get into Wanren Villa since they weren’t acquainted. Why would strangers entertain her? But now, she had a legitimate reason to be there.

"I’ll accompany you," Gu Qingheng nodded slightly.

Yang Ruxin smiled, then walked to the base of the stage. However, staring at the stage nearly two stories tall, she cursed under her breath a dozen times. She lacked light skills; she couldn’t possibly get up there.

"I’ll help you up," Gu Qingheng followed her.

"No need," Yang Ruxin shook her head, "There’s a wooden ladder over there." Indicating to the side, she then hurried over and clambered up noisily.

Everyone watching couldn’t help but twitch their lips at this scene. She has no light skills? How did she manage to snatch the Embroidered Ball?

Yang Ruxin didn’t care what others thought; once she was up, she stood aside.

On the stage, the men were either tall or slender, and Yang Ruxin, looking like a tiny bean, was conspicuously short.

Yu Qingfeng had been severely injured before and even though he had Dao Xuzi’s Nurture the Origin Pill, it wasn’t a miracle cure and couldn’t restore him to normal. Thus, he managed to get the Embroidered Ball but quickly lost it to someone else.

Fortunately, Shadow Three and Shadow Seven both secured an Embroidered Ball. However, seeing Yang Ruxin come up, they almost cried out. With the young mistress here, what would happen to the young master?

Yet, Yang Ruxin gave them a reassuring look and then ignored the gaze Song San threw her way too.

The middle-aged man scanned the ten people. "Each of your Embroidered Balls has a number, which represents your own number. Then, we’ll draw lots to determine your opponents."

Yang Ruxin looked at her Embroidered Ball; it had a seven, and she drew a nine for her opponent.

The rest quickly drew their opponents as well.

The duels proceeded in order.

First up was Song San; his opponent, number eight, was a burly man with a full beard. However, the "professor" didn’t last more than three moves before Song San kicked him off the stage, achieving an easy victory.

Someone immediately came over to record Song San’s name.

Next, Shadow Three won smoothly. His real name, Shangguan Fei, was used when recording his victory.

However, Shadow Seven encountered a skilled opponent. The scholar-looking man named Fa Qingyang had considerable martial arts prowess, clearly surpassing Shadow Seven. Nevertheless, leveraging his superior light skills, Shadow Seven managed to hold out for over a hundred moves before his opponent tapped his throat with a fan.

Yang Ruxin had intended to intervene; she would never let Shadow Seven get hurt. However, the opponent stopped at just a tap, halting the fan two inches from Shadow Seven’s throat and smiling slightly, "I yield."

After saluting with his fists, Shadow Seven glanced at Yang Ruxin before leaping off the stage.
