Chapter 1121: Chapter 1121: Knocked Out (7)

The two men were originally quite pleased with themselves, having snatched another promising youngster, but their joy didn’t last long—soon someone was catching up to them. They were ready to fight back; who would they fear?

However, before they could draw their weapons, they suddenly felt a rush of wind above their heads, and then a sharp pain on both shoulders. Instantly, they were lifted into the air.

They had never experienced anything like this. They wanted to cry out for help, but they found they couldn’t make a sound. They tried to raise their arms to hit their captors, but their limbs wouldn’t move. The claws were dug deep into their shoulders, directly into the flesh and bone; moving an inch sent searing pain through them...

Moreover, the two beings that had snatched them seemed to find it amusing, one moment swooping into the clouds, the next diving toward the ground...

The two men promptly passed out.

"How’s the child?" Gu Qingheng didn’t bother with the two in the sky but instead went over to check on the little one.

"Just knocked out," Gu Yao shook his head, "no serious harm."

Gu Qingheng nodded, then waved a hand at Xiaohei.

Xiaohei dove down and at a non-lethal height loosened its grip, and the man thumped to the ground.

Heihei followed suit, but wanting to demonstrate her ability to coordinate with her mate, she released her grip at the same spot Xiaohei did, which was unfortunate for the man who had landed first. Barely having recovered from the shock of the fall, he was struck by another body plummeting onto him. Not having been scared unconscious in mid-air, he was knocked out by the copper coin crashing down on him.

The one still conscious glanced at Gu Qingheng and Gu Yao but suddenly, without saying a word, bit down hard.

Gu Qingheng inwardly cursed, about to make a move, but alas, it was too late—the man had already bitten into the poison hidden in his teeth, and soon, black blood spilled from his mouth. Then, his eyes wide open, he collapsed.

During their flight, the constant sensation of weightlessness made him forget about the poison capsule entirely.

Gu Qingheng’s expression grew stern—this was a man ready to die. Fortunately, there was one more. Taking advantage of the fact that the other was still unconscious, he swiftly dislocated the man’s jaw and removed the poison capsule from his teeth.

This move not only extracted the poison but also jolted the unconscious man awake. Seeing Gu Qingheng, astonishment flashed in his eyes, only to be replaced instantly by terror. He tried to say something, or perhaps to bite down on poison and commit suicide, but he found he couldn’t speak—in fact, he couldn’t move his jaw at all.

Gu Qingheng threw the poison packet to the ground, where it burst open, its contents seeping into the soil.

"Want to talk?" Gu Qingheng asked the man, his lips curving into a slight smile, his face so striking that one could hardly look away.

Dazzled by Gu Qingheng’s smile, the man shivered as he locked eyes with him and then reluctantly nodded.

Gu Qingheng bent over and with a snap clicked the man’s jaw back into place.

But the man gave a sinister smile, and then began to exert force; he had just bitten into his tongue when his jaw was swiftly dislocated once again.

Gu Qingheng returned the smile: "Want to die? I’d have to agree first..." He turned his attention to Gu Yao.

Gu Yao nodded, handed the child over to Gu Qingheng, who mounted his horse and rode back the way they had come, while Gu Yao stayed behind to deal with the man.
