Chapter 969: Chapter 969: They’ve Been Looking Everywhere for You, Yet You Show Up On Their Doorstep?
"You guys..."
Carson Flores watched Kash Lam and the others smiling at him and shook his head helplessly, yet his heart felt quite warm.
Although their original union had been based on mutual benefit, they had adhered to the spirit of cooperation and helped one another during battles. After going through life-and-death experiences together, their mutual affection had deepened significantly.
To call them brothers-in-arms might be a stretch, but they were certainly friends.
Kash Lam walked up, draped an arm over Carson Flores’s shoulder, and laughed heartily, "Even if you’re pissed at him, you could just call us to beat him up for you. He’s at the Mid-Stage of God Transformation, and you’re at Nascent Soul. If you fight him, aren’t you asking to be abused?"
Who’s abusing whom is still up in the air.
Carson Flores mumbled to himself internally but didn’t say much else. He merely laughed and said, "Thanks."
"Why be polite with your own people? When we’re out and about, we need to look out for each other. Our Misrds State squad not only has to stick together in the Secret Realm but outside as well. That way, who would dare to bully us?"
Lainey Dragon asked, "Carson Flores, where’s your wife? I haven’t seen her."
Carson Flores gave a brief explanation and as soon as everyone heard that Liam Malone had hurt Shirley Miller, they understood.
I see. That’s why Carson Flores wanted to face Liam Malone in a direct confrontation.
He plans to take revenge for his wife.
"In such a public place, with their Sect Master watching from below, even if you could beat him, they won’t let you do anything to him. It’s not worth it."
Kash Lam whispered, "Later on, once we enter the Valley of Death, we’ll find an opportunity to create a little friction, then jump him in a group attack and beat him half to death—at least make him stay in bed for a year or so. We have so many Sects, are we afraid of one from Rajevols..."
Carson Flores wanted to laugh as he listened, "From the way you talk, you seem pretty experienced with this kind of thing?"
Kash Lam chuckled, "I’m the kind of person who loves to fight. You always need a reason to fight, right? You can’t just rush in and start swinging without a cause."
"No matter how trivial the issue, as long as the other party insults or strikes first, beating them half to death won’t cause a big fuss, and it won’t give others reason to blame you..."
Carson Flores laughed and gave a thumbs up, "Experienced!"
Carson Flores, however, didn’t just want to beat up Liam Malone; he wanted to completely finish him off!
The guy was full of hostility towards him and had also obstructed his wife’s path. If he didn’t kill him, was he supposed to keep him around for New Year’s?
Carson Flores naturally wouldn’t share his thoughts with the others, instead changing the subject, "I’ve just arrived, what’s the situation now? Have there been any sightings of Finlay Murphy?"
Terry answered, "We’ve spotted him a few times. The big shots from various Sects are all chasing after him. But he’s too fast. By the time we get the news and rush over, he’s already gone..."
Carson Flores asked, "What’s he running around for?"
Kash Lam smiled, "Who knows? Anyway, chasing him is the big shots’ business; we can’t keep up. We’re just here to get ready to follow them into the Valley of Death and broaden our horizons."
Carson Flores laughed, "Me too, following the lead of these big shots and having a look. Last time I was busy running for my life, dodging and hiding, I didn’t even have a chance to see it."
Terry laughed, "Let’s go have a drink first. We can’t decide when they’re going to enter anyway."
"Sure!"
That stay turned into ten days.
During those ten days, the group either played cards and had fun or drank tea and wine—to put it simply, they found various ways to pass the time.
One day, while Carson Flores was drinking tea with the others on a mountaintop, a huge commotion suddenly erupted from below. Countless people flew into the air.
Everyone turned in shock.
"What’s going on? Did the Demonic Beasts from the Valley of Death break out?"
"Doesn’t seem like it, what are they making a fuss over?"
Carson Flores’s gaze landed on the densely packed crowd of Cultivators in the sky, then extended toward their destination. Suddenly, his gaze froze, and he abruptly stood up.
A disheveled middle-aged man in old clothes stood woodenly on a mountaintop, staring blankly at the Cultivator’s Camp in front of him.
"Finlay Murphy!"
Carson Flores called out in a low voice, his scalp tingling with unease. How did he end up here?
Weren’t all those big shots searching the world for you? And yet you’ve shown up at our doorstep?
Kash Lam and the rest turned abruptly, fixing their gaze intently on the middle-aged man who appeared quite embattled and numb.
Was this truly that ancient powerhouse, Finlay Murphy, from the Murphy Family, from ten thousand years ago?
"Let’s go, take a look!"
Even though Finlay Murphy’s strength was incredibly formidable and his dazed state possibly dangerous, everyone flew toward him without any hesitation.
Carson Flores and his group weren’t the only ones to recognize Finlay Murphy—the encampment was filled with many other influential figures.
They cautiously approached Finlay Murphy, and someone called out, "Excuse me, are you the ancient figure from the Murphy Family, Finlay Murphy?"
Finlay Murphy looked up, his expression somewhat vacant, but he nodded nonetheless.
A murmur rippled through the crowd.
It really was him!
A man from ten thousand years ago was truly standing before them, not having aged at all from his appearance a millennium ago!
How did he manage that?
The important figures in front became excited, their questions becoming more urgent...
