Chapter 935: Chapter 935: Behold the Barbarian Wilderness, The Foremost Fate of the Immortal
"Senior Sister!"
Carson Flores hurriedly pushed open the courtyard gate of the cliffside cottage, but the room was empty.
A piece of paper was pasted on the door.
"Carson, I’ve gone out on an errand. Your mother is staying in your Cave Mansion, so you can stay here. The outermost room has been tidied up for you."
Carson felt quite disappointed.
Without realizing it, he had come to see Delaney Hunter as someone he held very dear. The first thing he wanted to do upon returning was to see her, to give her the True Dragon’s Blood, to share his experiences with her, and to hear her words of praise for him.
Unfortunately, she was out.
Carson pushed open the door to the room on the very edge. The junk room that had been piled up with various items was now clean and tidy.
The room was furnished with a bed, a wardrobe, and a desk and chairs. The quilt was new, and everything was neatly arranged.
Carson sighed, closed the door,
and decided to go see his mother first.
Lucy Frost was very happy to see Carson back.
Carson joined Lucy for a meal and chatted for a while before heading straight to Pure Sky Mountain.
Landing in front of his master’s cottage, Carson clasped his hands and bowed, "Master, your disciple Carson Flores seeks an audience."
The door opened, and Daxton Campbell’s figure appeared at the doorway.
"You’re back, and the commotion you stirred up wasn’t small," he said.
Carson chuckled and sent over a jar of True Dragon’s Blood, "Master, thank you for your concern. Having my First Senior Brother and Second Senior Brother stand up for me was a great help. Without them, I don’t know how badly I would’ve been bullied. I don’t have anything particularly worthy to offer, just a jar of True Dragon’s Blood. Please accept it, Master."
"True Dragon’s Blood?"
Daxton’s expression changed slightly, "Did you find the True Dragon Soul?"
Carson gave a wry smile, "I almost got killed. Master, please take a seat, and I’ll start from the beginning..."
Carson recounted everything that happened after he left Nutwood, not concealing any secrets this time, including the Life Essence Pearl, Ground Shrinking Technique, and Emperor Seal.
Carson had been worried that Daxton would blame him for concealing the truth, but after listening quietly, he just smiled and spoke in a calm tone.
"It seems that my previous assessment of you was correct. Your talent may not be anything special, but your fortune is exceptionally strong."
"You escaped from the Five Elements Immortal Palace, where no one else could escape; you escaped from the Absolute Death Valley, you survived the True Dragon’s pursuit, and you encountered the Forbidden Spirit Palace within the Secret Realm, which even the True Dragon had not seen for ten thousand years..."
Carson could only smile wryly, "It was a close shave, and I was lucky to survive."
Daxton laughed, "As long as your fortune is strong enough, you’ll keep having incredible encounters and survive all sorts of dangers. If we look at those throughout history with great fortunes, their experiences are nearly the same."
"I never imagined that taking a disciple casually would result in grooming an Emperor Candidate. It seems our Nutwood lineage will have yet another remarkable disciple."
"By the way, let me have a look at that Eight Desolations Dragon Suppression Sword."
Carson pulled out the Black Greatsword and presented it to Daxton with both hands.
After studying the sword for a while, Daxton handed it back to Carson, "It can’t be wielded without the power of an Immortal, and it’s as good as scrap metal in a Cultivator’s hands. Hm, it’s quite hard though..."
Carson laughed, "That’s what my Second Senior Brother said too, like giving a magical treasure to an ordinary person, nice to look at but not useful."
Daxton laughed, "Your destiny with immortality is quite good; perhaps you’ll find a way to use it in the future."
Carson blinked, "Destiny with immortality?"
Daxton nodded, "You first came into contact with the Five Elements Immortal Palace, used the Void Gate to teleport to the Valley of Death, met with Finlay Murphy who hasn’t died for ten thousand years, saw the destroyed Immortal Realm’s Sky-Piercing Array, and then confirmed the connections between the Immortal Realm, doors, and bridges from the True Dragon’s mouth. You’ve connected all these dots."
"Although everything you have learned is still far from Ascension and Immortality, when we look across the entire Barbaric Wilderness Realm, you are the person who has come closest and learned the most about immortality. Didn’t you see how all those Sect leaders obediently listened to your stories?"
Carson said with a smile, "It’s all thanks to my Second Senior Brother cheering for me from the side. Otherwise, those people might have just seized me and searched my soul, just to make sure I hadn’t omitted or left anything out."
Daxton nodded, "That’s possible, as many old folks in the Hollow Void Realm are nearing the end of their lives. If they don’t find a way to ascend to immortality, they will die. To stay alive, they wouldn’t hesitate to kill, even committing mass murder."
Carson couldn’t help but ask, "Is this true for all Cultivators, that to survive, they have no qualms about harming or even killing others?"
Daxton said indifferently, "Who wants to die? Whether they are nobodies or powerful and famous bigshots, who doesn’t fear death when faced with it?"
"The difference is, nobodies facing death can only passive accept it, even if they are afraid, but bigshots can make many attempts and efforts, hoping to defy the heavens and change their fate."
"The Cultivation Realm is inherently a place where the strong prey on the weak. The weak are like ants, so what does it matter if a few people are killed?"
