The people within the city panicked instantly, fully aware of the terrifying consequences should the beast tide breach the city walls. Before Carson could respond, the horizon was already dotted with numerous black spots that swarmed towards them.

Looking back, a similar multitude of black spots appeared from the opposing direction, rapidly approaching.

Carson’s heart sank, "It’s too late. If we leave now, we’ll surely become the most conspicuous targets and will be surrounded and slain by countless demons. Let’s wait and see. If we can’t hold the city, we’ll break through then. There will be more people trying to escape, and we won’t stand out as much."

Samantha glanced in the direction of the City Lord’s Mansion. "Shall we go to the City Lord’s Mansion?"

Carson smiled bitterly. "Let’s go take a look. If we can help, then we’ll help. After all, there are so many people in this city. If the city falls, who knows how many will die? We may not fight to the death here, but at least we can do so without guilt in our hearts," he said.

The two of them took to the air and flew straight towards the City Lord’s Mansion.

"I’ve released a distress signal. As long as we hold out for one day, the Hollow Spirit Cave Realm will send support. The longer we hold on, the more reinforcements will arrive, and the stronger they will be," he continued.

"I don’t care whether you’re cultivators from Giant Wave City or just passing through. Right now, we must fight shoulder to shoulder, giving it our all. That’s our only chance for survival. If the city is breached, we all die!"

Carson and Samantha reached the square in front of the City Lord’s Mansion, where hundreds of cultivators had already gathered, with more continually arriving.

The Spirit Stone Cannons began their furious roaring, each blast plunging into the midst of the monster beast horde, blasting countless beasts into pieces and turning them into a rain of blood and flesh that fell from the sky.

Dozens of Spirit Light Arrays shone brightly, drawing a massive amount of Spiritual Energy from the spirit stones. This energy transformed into waves of Spiritual Energy that flowed along the formation’s pillars up into the firmament and into the Aura Barrier above the city.

Watching this, Carson was shocked; the rate at which they were burning Spiritual Energy, how many spirit stones were consumed every second?

This was far more frantic than when he had been defending White Wave City!

Back then, although the attackers were Divinity Transformation Realm beings leading a group of Nascent Souls, the quantity of demonic beasts now was overwhelming, numbering in the tens of thousands!

Could the spirit stones hold out?

Zayn Rhodes looked towards the sky, his eyes betraying irrepressible anxiety.

Giant Wave City had been peaceful for a thousand years; how could it suddenly be faced with a tide crashing upon its shores?

The tide of beasts converging from all directions clearly indicated an organized and planned attack – who could be orchestrating all this in the background?

She unconsciously recalled the recent rumors she’d heard about the appearance of the Demon Emperor Heir, giving rise to an idea she couldn’t suppress in her mind.

Zayn Rhodes flung her hand, and twelve tokens flew towards Carson and the others: "These are Pass Tokens. Don’t lose them; otherwise, there will be endless troubles."

"Understood!"

After ensuring everyone equipped their tokens, Zayn charged into the sky: "Let’s go!"

The twelve Nascent Souls followed Zayn, skimming just above the ground, and then charged out from the eastern side of Giant Wave City.

Zayn led the charge, and from the long sword box on her back, countless flying swords erupted, seemingly alive as they each dove towards the incoming demonic beasts.

The Flying Swords shone like stars, unstoppable, instantly clearing a large swath of demonic beasts.

"Follow me, and don’t run off," Zayn ordered.

Carson reminded Samantha, unsheathing his Three Provinces Sword, and burst out of the Aura Barrier.
