Chapter 863: Chapter 863 This Is the Rule!
Carson Flores didn’t know what lay beyond the Light Gate, nor did he know if he would die.
He had no other choice.
The moment his body stepped through the Light Gate, everything turned dark. It felt as if he were caught in a vortex, with space and time becoming incredibly chaotic, carrying him forward in a way that was indescribable.
A portal?
A space tunnel?
Carson quickly felt a huge pulling force, almost as if it were ripping him apart—a force so immense that it seemed to shred him to bits in an instant.
His skin began to break, blood splattered, and even his flesh started to tear under the strain.
Carson was in agony, yet there was nothing he could do.
He finally understood why none of the stronger individuals had been able to pass through this gate. The force of the Void was insurmountable by any mortal. In the face of this rule-based power, you could only remain unharmed if you conformed to the rules!
Those who did not would be entirely erased!
This was the rule!
There was no room for negotiation, just cold, unyielding rules.
Carson glanced at Samantha Tate, only to discover she was circulating Wood Essence. Her entire being was filled with the rich essence of wood.
She hadn’t sustained any injury!
Carson let out a sigh of relief. Regardless of whether he would die, it seemed she was truly able to leave alive.
Samantha noticed the horrific state Carson was in. Clenching her teeth, she moved close to him, lying directly on his back, frantically circulating her Dantian, trying to envelop Carson with the aura of Wood Essence.
However, Samantha’s attempt was futile.
The rules acted directly upon the individual. It wasn’t as simple as lying on his back and wrapping him in Wood Essence.
Carson’s flesh continued to disintegrate, with some areas missing significant amounts of flesh, revealing golden bones beneath.
Just as Carson thought he was doomed, the erosion and tearing suddenly slowed down.
Two hundred and six Sword Bones simultaneously released the essences of Metal and Earth. The rules of the Void seemed to assess the amount of essences contained within Carson’s Sword Bones, then the severity of the tearing greatly diminished.
Although blood was still flying and flesh continued to dissolve, the speed had drastically reduced, especially closer to the bones.
Carson was overjoyed. The Metal Essence and Earth Essence within his Sword Bones were finally having an effect!
The rules of the Void had recognized the essences within his Sword Bones!
At this point, Carson also had a rough understanding. The Five Elements Essence was originally the Origin Essence of the universe, and the Void Gate had been constructed with gatherings of Origin Essence. Therefore, it was highly exclusive.
Only if your body possessed a sufficient quantity of Origin Essence would this passage through the Void acknowledge you, allowing you safe passage. If you lacked enough Essentia, you would be considered an intruder to the rules, subject to the force of the Void tearing you into pieces before vanishing into its expanse.
All who entered the Five Elements Celestial Palace ultimately must have passed through this gate, then died within the Void. Of course, it’s also possible that every time the Celestial Palace retreated into the Void, it would execute those inside and clear out all remnants of their existence.
Thus, the entire Five Elements Celestial Palace, inside and out, remained pristine aside from some inscriptions on the walls.
No bodies, no magical treasures, not even a scrap of cloth.
Pristine and clean.
As the numbing pain persisted, but knowing he might survive, Carson’s heart filled with hope.
He already had Nascent Soul Strength—what was a bit of physical damage? Besides, he had the Life Essence Pearl and Water Essence. How could some flesh wounds count for anything?
Being alive was all that mattered!
Samantha, too, noticed the rapid slackening of Carson’s disintegration and joy emerged in her eyes.
She hugged Carson even tighter, fearing that letting go, even for a moment, could mean forever apart.
As space fluctuated and time seemed to lose meaning, just when Carson was about to falter, a sudden brightness appeared before them.
The two tumbled out of the void and landed on top of a mountain.
Samantha, holding Carson mid-air, exclaimed with joy, "Brother, we’ve escaped!"
At that moment, Carson was covered in blood, not an inch of his skin was spared, looking absolutely terrifying.
Without a hint of revulsion, Samantha quickly descended to the top of the mountain with Carson, preparing to channel Spiritual Energy into him to heal his injuries.
Carson struggled to raise his hand, took out the Life Essence Pearl, and placed it over his heart.
"Channel Spiritual Energy."
Samantha didn’t understand what the Life Essence Pearl was, but she still followed Carson’s instruction, infusing Spiritual Energy into it.
Samantha was astonished to find that, as the Spiritual Energy was infused, it transformed into rich vitality that was injected into Carson’s heart and then circulated throughout his body with his blood. The grievous, bloodied wounds across his entire body began to slow their bleeding and then started to visibly heal at an astonishing rate.
What kind of magical treasure was this?
It was remarkably miraculous!
And by all appearances, it resembled the Life Essence Pearl of the Cave, the long-lost Cave Heaven’s Treasure from Heavenly Mountain, didn’t it?
