Chapter 777: Chapter 777 This guy is quite talented_1

The young man and his cohort erupted into hearty laughter.

"Marcellus Foster, what guts you have, haha, see if you can kill me, haha..."

"You’re not usually this tough, are you? You’re acting quite unusual today."

"He doesn’t want to lose face in front of his friends."

"Oh, so you’ve got a backbone today."

The crowd chimed in with mocking tones, all adopting a sneering stance.

Marcellus’s face turned red with an expression of grinding his teeth in anger but not daring to explode, which piqued Carson’s curiosity. He asked in a low voice, "Who is he?"

Carson pondered that, since Marcellus was the grandson of the Nutwood Peak Master, he should have the backdrop of a top-tier boss. Could it be that his fear was due to someone descended from the Cave Master?

With an awkward look on his face, Marcellus answered, "Brecken James, his uncle is the Peak Master of the Celestial Pivot Peak."

Carson blinked, "Isn’t your grandfather also the Nutwood Peak Master? You have equal status, so why fear him? Is it just because he’s a bit stronger?"

Carson and Marcellus’s conversation didn’t escape the ears of the others, who burst into raucous laughter.

"Haha, his grandfather is the Nutwood Peak Master?"

"Is that how he introduces himself?"

"He really knows how to gild his own face."

"Marcellus, you didn’t mention it, and I had almost forgotten about that. How many in the Foster family actually agree with your claim?"

Carson’s eyes were filled with doubt, but he didn’t pursue further questions, as Marcellus’s face across from him was already flushed with shame, as if dripping with blood.

There’s something fishy here.

Brecken chuckled, "This friend, Marcellus surely has not told you that he is actually an illegitimate child of the Foster family, not even recognized by his own family, right?"

Marcellus’s face, which had been flushed red, suddenly turned deathly pale, his gaze frightened, and he even dared not look at Carson.

Carson suddenly understood. No wonder Brecken and the others could bully Marcellus without restraint. It turned out that Marcellus was an illegitimate child, lacking the right to inherit and not even recognized by his family.

Marcellus mentioned his grandfather being the Nutwood Peak Master before, probably because he was worried that Carson, the Direct Disciple of the Nutwood Mountain Master Campbell, would look down on him, which is why he had said it.

Carson suddenly smiled, raising his cup of wine and said with a grin, "Even so, the Nutwood Peak Master really is your grandfather. Come, let’s drink."

Marcellus suddenly lifted his head, his eyes bright with excitement and shock.

Carson doesn’t blame him for lying?

He is willing to drink with him and still considers him a friend?

Carson shook his wine cup, "Drink up, what are you dazed for?"

Snapping out of it, Marcellus’s pale face flushed red once more as he raised his cup to clink with Carson’s, wanting to say something but not knowing how to start. In the end, he threw his head back and downed the wine in one gulp.

This scene did not sit well with Brecken and his gang; their expressions turned ugly.

This kid was giving them a poke in the eye.

A smart person would hurriedly grovel and scram, yet he was comforting Marcellus?

Does this kid not know the meaning of death?

Isn’t he aware of the grudge between Brecken and Marcellus?

He’s utterly clueless about the severity of the situation!

He’s asking for trouble!

Brecken coldly inquired, "Which peak’s disciple might you be?"

Carson smiled, "I’m a disciple from Nutwood Mountain, here to take care of some business."

Brecken looked down arrogantly at Carson, "This is an internal matter of Kahdas; it doesn’t concern you. I advise you to know your place and not to meddle in others’ affairs. Otherwise, if you get burned, don’t blame us at Kahdas for being inhospitable."

Carson smiled, "What are you going to do about it?"

Brecken glared at Marcellus, "To settle a score with him."

Carson turned to ask Marcellus, "What did you do to him?"

Marcellus replied with an embarrassed look, "He always bullied me, making me fetch various goods for him, never paying, and ridiculing me. In a fit of anger, I planted a nest of Soul-Devouring Bees in the toilet, and when Brecken went to use it, I triggered the nest from outside to explode..."

"Shut your mouth!"

Brecken’s face turned the color of liver; humiliated by Marcellus’s ploy, he had barely escaped the toilet without pulling up his trousers, scrambling in such disgrace that many had seen him, turning him into a laughingstock.

Brecken had been biding his time to take revenge on Marcellus, who knew he was in trouble and had been hiding. Brecken hadn’t been able to find him, but unexpectedly they ran into each other today.

Carson’s expression was peculiar; imagining that scene almost made him laugh out loud.

Marcellus sure had some talent.

This way of getting revenge could be more painful for Brecken than getting beaten up.

A social death, reputation in tatters, henceforth losing all mating prospects...

Realizing he couldn’t escape today, Marcellus threw caution to the wind, "I’m no match for you anyway. Do what you will, just come at me. If you have the guts, then kill me. Otherwise, be careful every time you use the bathroom!"

Brecken’s face was livid, "Playing tough with me, eh? Fine, I may not dare to kill you, but breaking every bone in your body is no problem, I reckon. Have you lie in bed for a few months, and once you’re nearly recovered, I’ll come back and do it again. Let’s see who can outlast whom?"
