Chapter 755: Chapter 755: Can A Single Arrow Break the Nascent Soul?_1

"Crack!"

Carson Flores was suddenly taken aback as the room’s door beside him swung open, and a tall, beautiful woman dashed out. She quickly hid behind a pillar and cautiously peered outside.

Her suspicious movements made Carson instinctively call out, "Joaquin Moses?"

The woman whirled around and upon seeing Carson, froze for a moment, and then glared at him: "Shut up."

From her reaction, Carson was sure that she was the Joaquin Moses the people outside were searching for.

Joaquin Moses?

The name was indeed unique; was it an actual name or a code name?

"Since you refuse to come out, don’t blame us for being impolite."

The masked man in the sky waved his hand coldly: "Kill, spare no one!"

Eight men simultaneously released their Flying Swords or magical treasures, launching a fierce assault on the Flying Boat’s Aura Barrier, whose luster quickly dimmed, clearly about to shatter.

This was merely a Spirit Light Array upon a Flying Boat, its power naturally couldn’t compare to the arrays protecting cities.

Spare no one?

This was an intent to annihilate every last one.

Carson threw out his Flying Sword and rose into the air, just as the Flying Boat’s Aura Barrier shattered.

The Flying Boat carried not only commoners but also numerous Cultivators. At that instant, they all took to their Flying Swords, scrambling to escape in every direction.

Carson glanced over at Joaquin Moses and noticed she too had blended into the crowd, dashing outward. But the moment she was spotted, someone in the sky saw her.

"Joaquin Moses, where do you think you’re going!"

The Flying Sword swooped down like a startled swan, aiming straight for Joaquin Moses.

Joaquin dashed into the air, speeding along while a bow materialized in her hand; she retreated as she drew the bowstring, and to the shock of onlookers, there was no arrow nocked.

"Buzz!"

The bow was fully drawn taut like a thunderclap, a speck of light, like a brilliant star, instantly detached itself from the bowstring and sped towards the nearest masked man.

Horror filled the eyes of the masked man as he rapidly moved away, swift as a specter, covering a hundred meters in a blink, but that speck of light took a beautiful turn in the sky and instantaneously caught up to him.

The masked man roared and threw out a dark iron shield; the speck of light struck it and then proceeded to pierce straight through, hitting the man directly.

The man spat out a mouthful of blood, and like a falling meteor, plummeted from the sky, twisting his body all the while in vain as he tried to regain control, only to crash erratically, like a kite with a snipped string into the forest below.

Carson was astonished; the fact the masked man could fly with his bare body meant he had Nascent Soul Strength, and yet this woman had severely wounded him with what appeared to be a simple pulling of a bow?

An arrow that could break through the Nascent Soul?

Such immense power.

Carson turned to look at Joaquin, only to see her originally rosy complexion had turned deathly pale in an instant; he realized then that although this Soul Devouring Bow was powerful, its use evidently came at a great cost. It seemed every shot required a significant sacrifice.

"So, you really did steal the Soul Devouring Bow!"

The lead masked man yelled sternly: "Don’t be afraid, everyone. She can only shoot once more at most, and she can’t bring out the true power of the Soul Devouring Bow. She won’t be able to kill us. Let’s take her down together!"

The other masked men closed in, and their Flying Swords danced through the air like dragons, attacking Joaquin Moses.

Joaquin flew rapidly, desperately dodging the onslaught, and clenched her teeth before drawing back the bow again.

As she drew, her complexion grew even paler, as if the bow were draining her life force.

"Buzz!"

Another Nascent Soul Powerhouse spat blood and tumbled down from the sky, crashing into the woods below.

At the same time, Joaquin herself spat out a mouthful of blood.

Wow!

The Soul Devouring Bow’s power was indeed fierce; it was taking down Nascent Soul Powerhouses with single shots. But after firing only two arrows, Joaquin herself was spitting blood.

The lead masked man sneered as he blocked Joaquin’s path: "Keep going, I want to see if you can really shoot another arrow!"

The defensive shield around Joaquin, assailed by Flying Swords, looked like it was about to collapse; Joaquin suddenly caught sight of Carson still on the boat, spectating. She grit her teeth, braved the Flying Swords, flew towards Carson, and with a powerful throw, the Soul Devouring Bow turned into a spectacular arc, flying straight to Carson.

Carson was about to flee when he saw Joaquin hurl the bow towards him. He was shocked and caught the Soul Devouring Bow instinctively.

Joaquin’s voice reached him: "Lock onto your target with your intent, pull the bow to its full extent and release, if you want to survive, do as I say!"

Carson instantly understood Joaquin’s intention; she was at her wit’s end and was dragging him down with her.

At the Nascent Soul stage, Joaquin could barely draw the bow twice before nearly dying from the Soul Devouring Bow’s drain, and he, at the Golden Core Realm, would probably be completely depleted with one draw.

This woman clearly saw no hope of breaking free; the Soul Devouring Bow was useless in her hands, so she tossed it to him, forcing him into the fight, demanding his life to take down her enemies!

This woman was utterly ruthless!
