Chapter 713: Chapter 713: The Disquieting Illusionary Realm_1
The Dark Seal emitted an extremely intense killing aura, and Carson Flores felt a chilling sensation and a cold sweat just by sitting beside it.
Is this a magical treasure?
Carson Flores fumbled around for a long time and tried all sorts of methods, but the Dark Seal still showed no response.
Out of curiosity, Carson Flores drew the Three Provinces Sword and struck down toward the Dark Seal.
Carson Flores just wanted to see what it was made of.
If it broke with one strike, it would indicate that the object might be nothing special, after all, neither Magic Artifacts nor magical treasures would be so fragile.
If it wasn’t a magical treasure, then so be it if it were damaged.
As the Three Provinces Sword cut onto the Dark Seal, a ’ding’ sounded. Before Carson Flores could take a closer look, a sharp and unmatched killing aura suddenly erupted from the Dark Seal, striking Carson Flores directly.
Carson Flores’s face turned pale as a sheet, his eyes lost focus for a moment, and with a thud, he fell to the ground, unconscious.
Carson Flores didn’t know how long he had been out, but the clamor of battle cries awoke him. He groggily opened his eyes.
As he did, Carson Flores was taken aback.
Where was he?
A battlefield?
On the endless wasteland, one side was filled with an unending Monster Beast Army, densely packed on the ground and in the sky, while on the other side surged a vast army of Human Cultivators, all clad in black robes, forming a dark tide with Flying Swords filling the heavens and all kinds of magical treasures displaying their terrifying powers. It was quite the epic battle.
The battlefield was strewn with corpses, blood flowing like rivers, a true scene of carnage.
Carson’s heart shook beyond words. What was this situation?
Carson Flores tried to look around and check on himself, but he found he could not shift his gaze at all; his perspective seemed fixed, suspended in midair, silently overlooking the ground below.
Suddenly from the rear of the Monster Beast Army, a cyan Demon Dragon burst forth. The body of this cyan Demon Dragon was at least several miles long, exuding a ferocious aura. Its appearance caused all beasts to give way.
With a breath, the Dragon Dragon unleashed a breath that blanketed the skies, like phosphorescent flames, causing the Cultivators to suffer heavy casualties; many of them turned into white bones in an instant.
The cyan Demon Dragon wreaked havoc across the battlefield, wherever it went, Cultivators were slaughtered en masse, a sight that reddened Carson Flores’s eyes.
Carson Flores was a human, a Cultivator, and naturally, his heart sided with humanity.
Were there no Cultivators capable of rivaling this Demon Dragon?
Were they going to let it slaughter at will?
Just as these thoughts of indignation filled Carson Flores’s mind, a furious shout thundered like a tens of thousands of bolts of lightning, reverberating across the entire battlefield.
"Monster! Face your death!"
Suddenly, Carson Flores moved.
He flew upwards, hanging above the heavens, then whistled downward, targeting the rampaging cyan Demon Dragon. As the distance closed, Carson Flores was surprised to find that the Demon Dragon, which was at least several miles long, seemed to grow smaller and smaller in his field of vision.
It wasn’t that the Demon Dragon was shrinking, but that "he" was growing bigger!
The cyan Demon Dragon raised its head and let out a fierce roar towards the sky, then it unleashed a breath of fiery dragon’s breath.
The high-temperature dragon’s breath quickly expanded in front of Carson Flores, his heart tightened suddenly; however, nothing happened, he passed through the dragon’s breath and continued downwards, then heavily crashed into the cyan Demon Dragon.
"Boom!"
In the massive collision, mountains shook, peaks collapsed, as if the world was ending in that very moment.
Everything went dark before Carson Flores’s eyes, the entire scene before him vanished in an instant, his consciousness blurred, surrounded by darkness, knowing neither where he came from nor where he was going, utterly disoriented.
"Carson Flores!"
"Carson Flores!"
The utterly disoriented Carson Flores suddenly startled, his consciousness quickly returning. He abruptly opened his eyes, drenched in sweat, gasping for air like someone who had nearly drowned.
Situ Xu’s face was above him, filled with worry. Seeing that Carson Flores had awakened, she let out a big sigh of relief.
"Carson, are you okay? How do you feel?"
Carson Flores took a couple of deep breaths, slowly recovering his composure. He looked around; he was lying on the deck of a Flying Boat.
He sat up but found his body felt incredibly weak, as if his whole body was soaked in sweat. In front of him, the Three Provinces Sword and the Dark Seal lay quietly on the deck.
Looking at Situ Xu’s face, Carson Flores asked, "What happened?"
Situ Xu replied with a worried expression, "You don’t know what happened? I was calling for you to help me get something, but you didn’t respond. I had to stop the Flying Boat and come out to look for you, and that’s when I found you lying on the ground, unconscious, your face deathly pale, even bleeding from your nose. I called you for a long time before you woke up..."
Carson Flores hummed in acknowledgment, not mentioning the incident with the Dark Seal, and casually replied, "I might have been hurt a little just now, and couldn’t control myself at the moment..."
Carson Flores casually picked up the Three Provinces Sword and the Dark Seal and put them into his Space Ring, then stood up with the help of Situ Xu.
"Let me help you to the bed to lie down."
"Sure!"
Situ Xu helped Carson Flores to an adjacent guest room, aiding him onto the bed, and asked, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
Carson Flores smiled and said, "I’m a doctor myself, you go on with your tasks, I’ll be fine after some rest."
Once Situ Xu left, Carson Flores leaned on the bed, pondering the bizarre experience just now.
Were those his idle imaginations, hallucinations?
Or due to some reasons, was it a coincidence that he got to see something that happened in the past?
Most importantly, in that Illusionary Realm, what exactly was he?
