Chapter 701: Chapter 701: How could I, an old man, not know such reasoning?_1
Hector Tate had noticed Carson Flores before, but since Delaney Hunter had not introduced him, he didn’t pay much attention, assuming he was a disciple from Flying Waterfall Mountain Peak.
Now, hearing Carson Flores call Delaney Hunter "Senior Sister," Hector Tate was shocked.
The Cave Master had only three disciples in total, with the eldest and the second disciple wandering outside. Delaney Hunter was the third disciple. Where did this junior brother come from?
Had the Cave Master taken on a new disciple?
Delaney Hunter turned to look at Carson Flores and suddenly remembered the miraculous self-healing method he used during the refinement of Sword Bone, which immediately gave her more confidence.
"Come on."
Hector Tate cautiously asked, "My lord, this person is?"
Delaney Hunter casually introduced, "Carson Flores, his master and the Cave Master are friends. He’s currently cultivating with me."
Carson Flores took the initiative to greet, "Greetings to Brother Hector, we are neighbors. I live in the number four dwelling."
Delaney Hunter had not taken any disciples. The entire Flying Waterfall Mountain Peak consisted of Loose Cultivators, and all Cultivators addressed each other as fellow brothers and sisters. Carson Flores, being younger and less powerful, was naturally the junior brother.
Following Hector Tate into the front courtyard of the City Lord’s Mansion, they had just entered when they saw several maidens busily coming and going.
Hector Tate answered in a low voice, "This morning, Sarah’s condition became very bad again. I went to invite the Apothecary physician Apollo Combs from White Wave City who is currently residing here..."
Delaney Hunter uttered an acknowledgment, "The Apothecary Sect holds profound knowledge in both the medical and Alchemy Dao. How skilled is this Physician Apollo?"
Hector Tate quickly responded, "I have asked several physicians to take a look, all at a loss. Physician Apollo is sustaining Sarah’s life with elixirs and has been thinking of ways recently, but..."
Hector Tate didn’t finish his sentence, but everyone understood.
This Physician Apollo was no ordinary man, but even he could not cure Sarah Tate.
Delaney Hunter stepped inside, "Let’s take a look first."
The three of them stepped inside and immediately saw Hector Tate’s daughter, Sarah Tate, lying on the bed pale as paper with a crimson chest, breathing with difficulty, and appearing to be in a very critical condition.
An elderly man with white hair sat beside her, a stern look on his face. He was obviously the physician Apollo Combs that Hector Tate had referred to.
Apollo Combs turned his head and glanced over, frowning slightly without making a sound.
Delaney Hunter walked to the bedside, scanned with her Divine Sense, and immediately knit her brows.
As she had thought, the injury was indeed severe!
Sarah Tate had suffered a sword strike to the chest, Sword Qi pervading her body. This Sword Qi, like countless tiny blades, had infiltrated her viscera and the wound, causing continuous bleeding from the wound which could not heal due to the intense Sword Qi.
Ordinary people would have died from such injuries long ago. It seemed Physician Apollo had used some elixir to cling stubbornly to Sarah Tate’s fading breath.
Delaney Hunter turned her head, "Carson, take a look."
Carson Flores glanced at Apollo Combs but didn’t move.
He was a physician himself and understood the etiquette among physicians; it was rude to just step in while someone else was treating the patient.
Hector Tate quickly introduced in a low voice, "Physician Apollo, this is City Lord Delaney, and this is her junior brother, Carson Flores."
Apollo Combs nodded calmly with a serene expression, stood to the side, and gestured for Carson Flores to proceed.
Carson Flores courteously bowed to Apollo Combs before sitting down and carefully examining Sarah.
Hector Tate watched Carson Flores anxiously, "How is it?"
Carson Flores glanced at Apollo Combs.
Apollo Combs stroked his beard and smiled, "Speak freely, we’re all here to save lives. There’s no need to mind an old man like me."
Carson Flores smiled slightly and turning to Delaney Hunter, he said, "She can be saved."
Helping Sarah would in turn heighten Hector Tate’s gratitude and loyalty to Delaney Hunter as her capable right-hand man, thus indirectly repaying Delaney Hunter as well.
Delaney Hunter’s expression immediately softened, and a smile appeared on her face.
Hector Tate’s eyes widened in shock and joy, "Junior Brother Carson, really? Can she truly be saved?"
Carson Flores confidently answered, "The difficulty lies in the countless fine Sword Qi that pervades the viscera and the wound, causing damage to the viscera and preventing the wound from healing. If we can erase the Sword Qi, the wound can heal and she can be saved."
Apollo Combs frowned, "This principle is not something that an old man like me does not understand. However, erasing Sword Qi is akin to having two Cultivators initiate a battle inside her body, which would inflict tremendous damage. She is already on her last breath. I’m afraid she might die before the Sword Qi can even be erased."
Carson Flores smiled faintly, "For others, erasing Sword Qi might indeed be as Physician Apollo said. But the one possessing Sword Bone and exercising the fine control over Sword Qi is unmatched by anyone else. By countering Sword Qi with Sword Qi and using a special method to treat the viscera and stabilize the condition, preventing severe damage and gradually eliminating all Sword Qi, her injuries can naturally be healed."
"Sword Bone?"
Apollo Combs’s gaze fell upon Delaney Hunter, admiringly saying, "It is well known that City Lord Delaney practices the Three-foot Sword Veil, and her unparalleled Sword Bone. I never thought it could be put to such a delicate use."
Delaney Hunter turned to ask, "Can you handle it?"
Carson Flores stood up, waggling his left index finger and grinning, "No problem."
Delaney Hunter firmly stated, "Then start the treatment. We’ll wait for you outside. If you need my help, just ask."
