Chapter 529: Chapter 529: Come, Let’s Have Fish_1

Carson Flores was astonished.

There were actually fish in this pond!

This was truly bizarre.

The middle-aged man had an unexpected look of joy on his face, and as the simple fishing rod was about to fall into the pond, with a gesture of his hand, the rod floated back into his grasp as though he had never let go of it in the first place.

The middle-aged man flicked the rod, and as the line on the rod tightened, it continuously lifted off from the water’s surface and soared into the air.

Carson had assumed that the bottom of the pool didn’t look too deep, thinking the fishing line was at most two or three meters long, but in the blink of an eye, the line flew up at least several dozen meters into the air, with more still rapidly emerging from the water.

Carson Flores and Lilly Compton stood dumbfounded. What was going on here?

Could it really be fishing in a spring’s eye?

The length of the line flying out grew longer and longer until Carson estimated that at least a hundred meters had been pulled out before a silver fish suddenly burst through the water’s surface, then flew toward the sky, drawing a long parabola before finally landing in the middle-aged man’s hand.

Carson’s eyes were fixed on the fish; he was eager to know what kind of magical fish it was that could hide in such depths?

It was a fish Carson had never seen before; silver in color, but with a vivid red stripe along its back and a pair of long whiskers by its mouth, like that of a silver carp.

"Haha, what good fortune, a treat today!"

The middle-aged man laughed heartily, dropping the fishing rod and showing the fish to Carson: "I have been fishing for this fish for many years without a single bite, but today, upon meeting you, I caught it. It seems I have you to thank for the added luck."

Curious, Carson asked, "Senior, what kind of fish is this? I’ve never seen it before..."

The middle-aged man smiled and replied, "This fish is called Dragon Pattern Fish. It likes living in cold springs and because of that, its flesh is unparalleled when made into sashimi..."

Reaching behind him, the middle-aged man somehow produced a silver plate, effortlessly killed the fish with a shake of his hand, and then a silver knife appeared in his open right hand.

The silver knife spun in the middle-aged man’s hand, appearing like a dancing silver light.

One by one, slices of sashimi fell neatly and orderly onto the silver plate.

Carson was shocked; he couldn’t even see the middle-aged man’s knife work!

How fast was that knife?

In the blink of an eye, ten pieces of sashimi appeared on the silver plate, and with another retracting motion, both the fish and the knife disappeared.

Carson’s pupils shrank; a storage space!

This middle-aged man was a Cultivator, and he had something like the storage ring that Carson wore on his own hand!

"As the saying goes, rarity brings value. This fish is extremely rare, to eat too much of it at once would be a waste."

The middle-aged man then took out a silver bowl, added something that looked like soy sauce to it, took out a pair of silver chopsticks, dipped a slice of fish into the sauce, and savored it slowly with his eyes closed, savoring the taste.

"Delicious! Truly a divine flavor!"

After swallowing the sashimi and savoring it for a few seconds, the middle-aged man opened his eyes, glanced at the still standing Carson and Lilly Compton, and said with a smile, "To meet is to be fated. Perhaps it was the luck of meeting you two that helped me to catch this fish. Come, try it and let’s enjoy it together."

The middle-aged man handed them each a pair of silver chopsticks, adding with a smile, "Although it’s good, it’s too much for an ordinary person’s body to handle. You should eat three pieces, while one piece is enough for her."

"Thank you, senior."

Carson could have never imagined that he would encounter such a master right after arriving at Jade Pool and that the master would kindly offer him fish to eat!

Although he was clueless about the origins of this fish, if such a person made regular trips to fish for it, it must be a delicacy. Since the man had made the offer, how could Carson refuse?

Carson took the chopsticks, picked up a piece of fish, dipped it in the sauce, and put it in his mouth.

A taste, a bite.

Carson’s eyes suddenly grew wider, his taste buds nearly exploding.

It was delicious!

Carson could responsibly say that he’d had his share of fresh, high-end sashimi, but compared to the piece of Dragon Pattern Fish in his mouth, those were nothing!

After quietly finishing three slices of sashimi, the cool sensation from the cold fish in his stomach was suddenly replaced by a warm current rapidly spreading through his body.

Carson’s eyes widened in shock as he looked at the middle-aged man across from him.

The middle-aged man smiled and said, "Take this opportunity to meditate and see the effect."

Carson understood immediately.

The Dragon Pattern Fish lived in this spring filled with dense Spiritual Energy and was probably full of it itself. Having eaten three slices, he must now quickly absorb the released Spiritual Energy.

"Thank you, senior!"

Carson sat cross-legged and began to Cultivate, quickly entering the mysterious state of Breakthrough.

Carson had already approached the threshold of the Innate Great Grandmaster level, peeking inside and even managing to wedge half a foot through. Now, with the surging Spiritual Energy transforming from the three pieces of fish into a tumultuous flow within his body, Carson pushed the invisible door wide open, like a strongman bolstered by energy.

A powerful aura suddenly erupted from Carson.

Carson made a Breakthrough!
