Chapter 513: Chapter 513: Is There a Possibility That She Went to the Unknown Land?_1
Carson Flores stopped in the mountain pass, watching Isabella Roth float away like an immortal, vanishing at the end of the stone path.
There was no sign that would catch anyone’s attention.
No brilliance, no sound.
Isabella Roth had disappeared quietly into the woods, and Carson Flores could not figure out until the end where the entrance to the Heavenly Mountain retreat actually was.
The silver-haired old woman returned, and Carson Flores reunited with Leah Frost; after thanking the old woman again, the two left the four-sided courtyard.
Only when the two were completely away did Leah Frost stop, looking back at the four-sided courtyard in the distance woods, and murmured, "It’s as if it was all a dream. That Miss Roth and the elder, they must be Immortals, right?"
Carson Flores thought for a moment, then shook his head, "Not sure, but they’ve definitely surpassed ordinary people. Whether they can fly through the skies or Earth Escape I don’t know, but at the very least, they do possess long lifespans and abilities far greater than ours."
After a pause, Carson Flores apologetically said, "What I discussed with Sister Roth..."
Leah Frost efficiently interrupted him, "You don’t need to tell me, I understand that. It’s sufficient that you know these things."
Carson Flores hummed in acknowledgment, feeling apologetic. Since he had promised Isabella Roth not to tell anyone else, he naturally had to keep his word.
Perhaps Isabella Roth wasn’t supposed to tell so much to an ordinary person like him, but she had spoken more because he had once saved her daughter. Undoubtedly, her answers had been a great help to Carson Flores.
Leah Frost walked a few steps, then turned and asked, "Hey, there’s something I’ve been holding back for a long time and never had the chance to ask..."
Carson Flores’s face immediately took on an unnatural hue; he naturally guessed what Leah Frost was going to say.
It was nothing more than his relationship with Samantha Tate.
With things having come this far, Carson Flores had nothing to hide anymore and simply nodded, "Go ahead."
Leah Frost asked, "What’s the situation you mentioned before with Xiaoxi?"
Carson Flores replied somewhat awkwardly, "To put it simply, my master arranged a marriage for me, but because there were no feelings involved, the other party and I agreed to officially register the marriage, have a fake wedding, and be a pretend couple, not interfering with each other’s personal lives. Because of this agreement, I met Samantha Tate, and after going through quite a few things, we got together."
"I had planned to divorce my wife after the agreed time and then truly be with Samantha Tate. But then, due to conflicts and issues in her family and my search for my identity, Samantha Tate and I became deeply intertwined, and feelings developed between us during our time together."
Leah Frost slightly surprised, poked Carson Flores, "What’s this sister and sister-in-law business about?"
Carson Flores replied awkwardly, "My wife Shirley Miller is Samantha Tate’s cousin, and the two of them look almost exactly alike."
Leah Frost’s eyes widened, and after a moment, she suddenly laughed, "You’re something, aren’t you? Do they both know about each other?"
Carson Flores answered, "Just before the end of our agreement, she was taken away for some sort of test and has been out of touch ever since. It’s been two or three months now. When she left, she said it would be two to six months, but I don’t know the specifics. I was supposed to wait for her to come back and clear everything up, but now this has happened."
Leah Frost then realized, "So because of this, even though you and Samantha Tate come and go together as a couple, you haven’t crossed that final line?"
Carson Flores nodded, "Yueyue said we couldn’t do it while her sister was away; it felt like stealing from her sister. She wants to wait for her sister to come back and clear things up..."
Leah Frost’s eyes widened, "You and Shirley Miller had a marriage of convenience without any intimacy?"
Carson Flores nodded with embarrassment, "No."
Leah Frost couldn’t help but chuckle, "Some would say you’re fickle, yet you have your reasons, and you still maintain decorum. Some would say you’re devoted, yet you’re unwilling to let go of either. So, what will you do now?"
Carson Flores shook his head and sighed, "This separation from Yueyue, I don’t know how long it will be until we meet again. Once Mary returns, I’ll clear things up with her, and after that... we’ll decide after talking it through."
Leah Frost nodded, "Yeah, that’s all you can do for now. I haven’t met Shirley Miller, but if she can captivate you, she must be an exceptional woman. Affairs of the heart, I’m not in a position to advise much. However, I’ve seen the affection between you and Xiaoxi, and I hope you won’t let them down."
Carson Flores let out a sigh, "Yueyue has now entered Heavenly Mountain, and if nothing goes wrong, she’ll be a Cultivator. The ways of Immortals and mortals do not align. It’s too early to talk about these matters now. We’ll see what happens after meeting Mary. I also don’t know what she’s doing, where she’s gone to a place without even a cellphone signal..."
Leah Frost blinked, "Tell me more about it?"
Carson Flores recounted the details of Shirley Miller’s departure, and Leah Frost speculated, "A test? If you pass successfully, it’s two months to half a year, and she left with a Great Grandmaster without taking a cellphone, which probably means no signal. Could it be she’s also involved in some Cultivation-related test and has entered The Unknown Land?"
