Chapter 503: Chapter 503: Shall We Kill Together?_1
"This old bastard, he’s utterly despicable."
Leah Frost fumed, "He’s actually resorted to kidnapping, I’ll have to shatter his bones one by one when I get back!"
Carson Flores said gravely, "Shane Fox’s choice to kidnap Samantha means that Gunner Tate hasn’t made a move. Given Gunner’s strength and character, if he wanted to kill me, he would’ve done so directly, without resorting to kidnapping."
Leah Frost frowned, "Did Shane Fox act on his own?"
As Carson Flores figured out the situation on the way, "Gunner’s order to Shane was to kill me. Shane tried to attack me but nearly got himself killed instead. He must feel utterly humiliated. I guess he must’ve boasted in front of Gunner before, so he didn’t go back to ask Gunner for help."
"He said he would give me a chance to rescue Samantha. I guess he’s gathered a bunch of experts to use her safety to force me to show up, and then they will ambush me."
Leah Frost nodded in agreement, "That sounds about right. So when he calls you, he will surely insist that you come alone. Tell him I also want to go, say I don’t agree with you going alone and can’t be left behind. They don’t know my real power, so they won’t take any precautions against me, which should increase the chances of rescuing her."
Carson Flores nodded, "Alright!"
Leah Frost comforted him, "Don’t panic. The more flustered you are in these situations, the more likely you are to make mistakes. They know you’re not to be trifled with and won’t harm Samantha."
Carson Flores hummed in response, "I’m very calm right now."
The phone rang.
Shane Fox.
Carson let the phone ring three times before answering and pressed the speakerphone button.
"South Bridge Mountain top, come alone."
Before Carson could speak, Leah Frost interjected, "It’s a trap, you can’t go!"
Leah winked at Carson, and he instantly understood. She was creating an excuse for him.
"I have to save Samantha."
Leah Frost exclaimed loudly, "They must have a lot of experts lying in wait for you there, and maybe even an Innate Grandmaster. Are you going to throw your life away? I don’t think Samantha would want you to lose your life trying to save her."
Carson insisted, "Aunt, don’t worry about it, I must go!"
Leah Frost changed her tune, "Then I’m coming too. If you don’t let me come, you can forget about going. I think Samantha won’t blame me!"
Carson pretended to be helpless, "Shane, my aunt wants to come; otherwise, I can’t either."
Shane was silent for two seconds, "Leah Frost?"
Shane, having investigated all of Carson’s details, naturally knew that the aunt Carson referred to was Leah Frost, who was only a few years older than Carson and had only recently returned from abroad.
Carson hummed in confirmation, "Yes."
Shane said sternly, "If she wants to come, let her come. But if I find there’s a third person, you will never see your woman again."
"Okay, just the two of us."
Carson asked, "We’ll leave right now."
Shane said coldly, "You have one hour. I’ll be waiting."
After hanging up, Carson and Leah Frost drove off. With his aunt, an Innate Grandmaster, by his side, Carson felt more confident.
Rescuing Samantha Tate was the top priority; once they managed to save her, they might even have a chance to turn the tables.
In forty minutes, Carson and Leah Frost arrived at South Bridge Mountain. They parked the car at the base of the mountain where the road ended and quickly made their way up the mountain via the stone steps.
At the mountain top, Shane Fox watched the two climbers through binoculars and turned his head to say, "Just them, no one else."
Five people, four men and a woman, all Great Grandmasters of the Five Dragon Sect, stood by Shane’s side, summoned to lend a hand.
As Gunner Tate’s servant and loyal dog, Shane held substantial power in the Five Dragon Sect. Many Sect Master duties were performed by Shane on their behalf, so when Shane called, these Great Grandmasters, despite their lofty status, still came to heed Shane’s summons.
There was a pavilion on top of the mountain. Samantha Tate’s hands were tied to the railing of the pavilion with a rope. As a normal person, there was no need to worry about her escaping.
"Do we take out the Frost Family woman as well?"
Shane shook his head, "Although she’s just an unimportant junior from the Frost Family, there’s no need to make enemies of them. If she acts, just subdue her."
The others nodded; after all, they would just follow Shane’s orders.
"Is that kid really that formidable, that we need so many of us to take action together?"
Shane said gravely, "The kid must have consumed the Three Dragon and Tiger Pills given by the Vasquez Family, which boosted his power dramatically. He’s likely reached the level of a Peak Great Master. I tried to ambush him in the underground garage and was sent flying with two punches, coughing up blood. Everyone must be careful and work together to deal with him!"
The people were visibly startled.
Shane’s prowess was something they had all witnessed; among the eighteen Great Grandmasters in the Five Dragon Sect, Shane’s strength could be ranked in the top three.
That kind of power was sent flying and coughing up blood by Carson Flores with just two punches?
