Chapter 436: Chapter 436: Someone Might Not Be Able to Sleep Tonight_1

Carson Flores returned home, and before entering, he made sure to check himself for any bloodstains.

Fortunately, Carson had always been careful and had not gotten any blood on him.

It was past nine o’clock now, and the house was quiet.

Was everyone asleep?

His grandparents always went to bed early, but didn’t his aunt usually stay up quite late?

Did she go out?

Carson didn’t think much of it and called Samantha Tate, telling her about how he had killed several members of the Vasquez Family.

Although it was highly unlikely that the Vasquezes would trace anything back to Samantha, he felt it was still important to remind her to be cautious.

He realized that he was now directly opposed to the Vasquez Family, and he needed to be prepared; otherwise, if things escalated, he would be at a disadvantage.

After some thought, Carson picked up his phone and dialed a number.

After the call, Carson grabbed his pajamas and went to take a shower. When he came out, he saw Leah Frost leaning against the door of her bedroom with a cup of honey water in her hand.

"So you’re back so soon? Didn’t you even have a few drinks with your friend?"

Carson was startled for a moment before he remembered the excuse he had given her that afternoon, "It was just a small matter, sorted out in a few words."

Leah smiled, then changed the subject, "What are you planning to do next?"

Carson replied with a smile, "Haven’t thought about it yet. I was planning to go back to Seashore after seeing you..."

"Why go back?"

Leah said with a sly smile, "Stay in Xi Jing from now on. A family should be together, and it’s good to have each other’s support... What do you plan to do? Get a job, or start a business and be your own boss?"

Carson laughed, "I’m not capable of being any boss. I’ll look for a job later on."

Laughing, Leah said, "That’s easy! We have plenty of family businesses. Tell me what kind of work you’re interested in, and your aunt can arrange something for you. Something easy with good pay. Although we don’t rely on such a salary to live, we all need something to fill our time, don’t we?"

Carson, currently tangled in trouble, didn’t want to become too involved with the Frost Family to avoid dragging them into his mess.

A man on his own could run if he couldn’t win a fight, but the more attachments he had, the less efficient his actions would be.

"Anything’s fine, but there are still some things I need to handle first before I think about work."

Leah said with a gentle smile, "No hurry, I was just asking casually. If you need help with anything, just let me know. I’m quite fierce in a fight, you know."

Quite fierce?

How fierce could it be?

Carson chuckled inwardly but solemnly promised, "Alright, if I get bullied, I’ll ask you to stand up for me, aunt."

Leah smiled sweetly, "Sleep well and have sweet dreams."

Watching Carson enter his room, Leah sipped her honey water and murmured softly, "I fear someone won’t be able to sleep tonight."

...

The Vasquez Family mansion was ablaze with lights.

Santino Vasquez’s grandfather, Frank Vasquez, sat on the sofa with a grave expression. In front of him were several middle-aged men, all silent.

A mobile phone on the table rang. A middle-aged man quickly picked it up and answered the call, his expression growing increasingly ugly.

After hanging up, the man looked up and said, with all eyes on him, "My people have been to the dock. In the open space of Dock No. 8, there are clear signs of a fight and scattered bloodstains. Obviously, there’s been a fierce scuffle there."

"They drove to the dock, but the Mercedes wasn’t found at the scene. We checked the traffic monitors on the main roads nearby, and only found records of their car heading to the dock, no record of it leaving."

"We checked the monitor records around eight o’clock and discovered a red Ferrari. The surveillance photos confirm that the driver was Carson Flores. He passed the monitor near the dock at 7:50 p.m. and left at 8:31 p.m. However, his license plate was deliberately obscured, and we couldn’t track the car..."

Frank Vasquez’s face darkened as he spoke, "State your conclusion."

The middle-aged man said gravely, "It seems that Santino and the other three are likely all dead, and their bodies must be inside that missing car, probably sunk to the bottom of the sea."

Frank Vasquez angrily said, "A twentysomething kid killed a Great Grandmaster and two Grandmasters. Do you believe that if we say it out loud?"

The man hesitated before saying, "Carson’s driving a sports car with only two seats, and the passenger seat was empty. He was indeed alone, unless he had accomplices who took other means of transport or entered the dock by other ways in advance..."

Frank Vasquez furiously said, "Regardless of whether he had accomplices, at least one thing is clear: Carson Flores is the murderer, or one of the murderers. So what are we waiting for? Even if we have to turn Xi Jing upside down, find him for me. He killed my brother, son, and grandson. I want him torn to pieces!"

The man nodded, "Yes, I’ll make the arrangements immediately."

Frank Vasquez sat on the sofa and said solemnly, "This is no longer just a grievance between Santino and Carson; now it is a battle between the entire Vasquez Family and Carson. Until Carson is dead, the Vasquez Family will become a laughingstock!"
