Chapter 431: Chapter 431 You’re just a waste!_1

Layne Reid naturally couldn’t outrun Carson Flores, and he was intercepted by Carson just a few steps after he started running.

Layne Reid’s face turned pale in an instant.

He had not expected Carson to be able to fight so well!

Only a Cultivator could defeat another Cultivator, so what was Carson’s background?

Although somewhat panicked, Layne Reid was not afraid.

He was a member of the Reid Family!

"What do you want to do?"

Carson looked at the arrogant youth before him and suddenly laughed.

"Did you send them to clean me up and cripple me?"

Layne Reid sneered, "I didn’t expect you to be a Cultivator, and a competent one at that. I miscalculated. What’s your background? Tell me."

Carson laughed, "Pretty arrogant, aren’t you, asking about my background?"

Layne Reid said haughtily, "I am from the Reid Family of West Capital, and my father is Lennon Reid."

Carson raised an eyebrow: "The Reid Family?"

Layne Reid held his chin up proudly, "That’s right. If you don’t know about the Reid Family, you can ask Lillian Frost."

Carson laughed, "You seem very impressive. Why don’t you tell me instead?"

Layne Reid scoffed, "Why should I tell you? You don’t even know the Reid Family..."

Before Layne Reid could finish his sentence, Carson had already raised his hand and slapped him across the face.

"Smack!"

Layne Reid’s cheek swelled immediately, with a clear handprint, effectively cutting off his words.

Layne Reid spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, but his attitude remained defiant, his eyes glaring at Carson bitterly, "You dare to hit me; you must not know how to write the word ’death’!"

"Really?"

Carson smiled and raised his hand again, striking the other side of Layne Reid’s face.

This slap was even more vicious than the previous one; blood trickled from the corner of Layne Reid’s mouth, and with a gape, a shiny white tooth flew out.

"I indeed don’t know how to write the word ’death’. Why don’t you teach me?"

Layne Reid began to panic; he hadn’t expected that after revealing his background, Carson would still dare to hit him!

Layne Reid covered his mouth, his speech unclear, he shrieked sharply, "My Reid Family is a prominent Cultivator family in West Capital, with immense strength and an Innate Grandmaster at its helm. Do you not want to live?"

"Innate Grandmaster?"

Carson scoffed and slapped him again, "Intimidating, indeed. But are you, a weakling who isn’t even a Cultivator, worth an Innate Grandmaster stepping in on your behalf?"

Layne Reid’s head buzzed from the smack, mixed with a concoction of rage and embarrassment.

Yes, his family did have an Innate Grandmaster, but how could such a minor matter warrant the involvement of an Innate Grandmaster?

Unwilling to accept it, Layne Reid shouted, "My father is a Grandmaster, and my seventh uncle is a Great Grandmaster!"

"Then you’re just a loser!"

Carson stepped forward and swiftly pressed his fingers on several points on Layne Reid’s body, sneering, "This is just a little punishment for you. Scram. Get anywhere near Tangtang again, and I’ll cripple you!"

Layne Reid looked at Carson in horror, "What have you done to me?"

Carson spoke indifferently, "Just making the lesson stick."

Layne Reid didn’t dare utter another word and turned to run, scared that if he moved too slowly, he would receive a few more slaps.

Carson turned around, smiled at Lillian Frost and Samantha Tate, "Let’s continue eating."

Lillian Frost looked at Carson with shining eyes, "Brother, you’re so mighty!"

Carson laughed, "Spoiled brats who bully others deserve a few slaps to set them straight."

Lillian Frost asked curiously, "What did you do to him in the end?"

Carson replied, "I just injured a few of his meridians. He’ll be in pain for a day or two; no big deal, he won’t die. It’s a small punishment. If he comes back to bother you, give me a call. I’ll take care of him."

Carson wasn’t lying; Layne Reid wasn’t going to die, but he was going to wish he was dead for the next couple of days, and the damage to his meridians meant irreversible pain.

Carson hadn’t expected to run into such an incident while coming to watch Lillian Frost perform, nor had he expected the kid to be a member of the Reid Family!

The Reid Family of West Capital — wasn’t that the clan Oscar Miller had sought refuge with?

If he hadn’t had to consider his current involvement with the Frost Family, Carson probably would have been even harsher in his retaliation against Layne Reid.

After eating, Carson and Samantha Tate left West Capital University. After bidding them farewell, Lillian Frost immediately took out her phone and called her father.

Carson was in the right, but Cultivators are ruled by their fists, not by reason.

After being dealt with by Carson, Layne Reid would undoubtedly seek revenge. Carson had gotten involved with Layne Reid to clear the way for himself; Lillian Frost didn’t say anything in front of Carson, but the Frost Family should step in to smooth things over.

"Dad, this is what happened..."

Antonio Frost’s voice was steady, with a touch of surprise, "You’re saying that after Layne Reid revealed his identity, Carson still went ahead and hit him?"

Lillian Frost affirmed, "Yes, Layne Reid mentioned that his father is a Grandmaster and his seventh uncle is a Great Grandmaster, but my cousin didn’t flinch and even took action against Layne Reid, damaging his meridians, as a punishment..."

Antonio Frost laughed, "He is quite brave. Alright, I’ll give Lennon Reid a call later. Since Layne isn’t in the right, he’ll have to swallow this loss."

Lillian Frost breathed a sigh of relief, "Thanks, Dad."

Antonio Frost laughed, "Let’s not even mention he’s your second aunt’s child and a member of our Frost Family. Even if he were just an ordinary person, if he stood up for you and offended the Reid Family, the Frost Family would still protect him to the fullest. We don’t start trouble, but we are certainly not afraid of it!"
