Chapter 420: Chapter 420 Have You Really Been a Security Guard Before_1

Frederick Howell’s punch missed, and his heart sank with dread. Done for, he thought, I’m in for it!

When a huge force hit his butt and sent him flying uncontrollably, Frederick’s heart turned ice cold.

That’s how he humiliated Jakob Compton and the others just moments ago, and now this guy was treating him the same way!

It was truly a taste of his own medicine.

Frederick sprawled and crashed to the ground, spreading his palms and feet to brace himself in an attempt to stop sliding, yet he still skidded a short distance before coming to a halt.

"Haha, look at the turtle crawl!"

Lillian Frost wouldn’t miss the chance to mock him; she burst into laughter, clapping her hands joyfully.

Frederick’s face was an ashen hue. Although they had only exchanged blows once, he was already certain that he was no match for Carson Flores, and any further attempts to fight would only bring more disgrace upon himself.

By that time, Nathaniel Frost and the others, riding on high morale, had knocked down all of Khalil Baker’s group, who lost their backbone. Nathaniel perched on top of Khalil, pinning down his flailing arm, and slapped him across the face.

"So arrogant, huh? You think you’re so tough? Keep it up then, stand up and hit me back!" Nathaniel taunted.

Khalil Baker cursed, "Nathaniel Frost, don’t you get cocky..."

Before Khalil could finish, Nathaniel had already smacked him another slap.

"Damn right I’m cocky, why shouldn’t I be?"

Khalil kept silent after that; after all, talking more only led to more mistakes and more beatings when you lose a fight.

Seeing Khalil shut up, Nathaniel delivered one final slap, rounding it to three.

"Calling for reinforcements, setting me up, you think I don’t have backup? If you’re not satisfied, let’s go one-on-one anytime you want—I’m waiting!"

Khalil held his head and bubbled no more, his whole body aching as if falling apart from Nathaniel’s beating.

Nathaniel stood up triumphantly, his gaze falling on Ariya Steele as he sneered coldly, "Your taste really sucks, truly terrible choices."

Having vented their anger, Nathaniel’s eyes swept over the crowd, and he excitedly waved his hands, "Let’s go, back to drinking!"

Nathaniel approached Carson Flores, slapped a hand onto his shoulder, and said excitedly, "Cousin, we owe it all to you today. Otherwise, I would’ve been done for. Tonight, we won’t stop drinking until we’re drunk!"

Carson looked at the people on the ground, "What about them?"

"Just some superficial wounds, nothing serious. Don’t worry about them!"

Carson asked, "What I mean is, they got beaten up; won’t they call for backup to regain face?"

Jakob Compton explained with a smile, "This isn’t some life or death feud, just a matter of pride. Once it’s over, it’s over. Khalil was just trying to intimidate us earlier because he thought he could dominate us; now that he’s lost face, even if he wants retaliation, he’d have to find another opportunity to ambush us. After all, isn’t it true that anybody can call for reinforcements, and doesn’t everyone have some backing?"

Enlightened, Carson laughed, "I see, there are rules to this."

Nathaniel chuckled, "West Capital is big and small in its own ways. You don’t bump into someone here, you bump into them somewhere else. If every conflict meant calling for backup and escalating the situation, we would have died long ago. Us younger folks generally settle our own scores. One fight isn’t enough? We have a few more until someone gives up. If they don’t, then we keep going at it. Anyway, after all the fighting, we grow up... we become adults..."

Jakob snickered, "Carson, that kick of yours was so satisfying. It was great to see you take down that show-off Frederick!"

Everyone returned to the bar, laughing and talking. Even though they’d just had a fight and some had bruises, it didn’t affect their drinking at all.

It was the glory of a warrior’s victory!

Nathaniel raised his glass to Carson, "Thanks for today, bro!"

’Cousin’ turned into ’bro,’ obviously bringing them a step closer.

Carson said with a smile, "No big deal, don’t mention it... Is life always this exciting for you guys?"

Nathaniel laughed, "Not really. On most days when we meet, it’s mostly just some verbal sparring, not straight to fighting. This was because Khalil snatched my girl; not hitting back wouldn’t be manly at all. I’d never be able to hold my head up high again."

Lillian looked at Carson with shining eyes, "You’re so awesome, that Frederick was all cocky when he showed up, and just one kick from you took care of him."

Carson smiled, "Well, I was a soldier for a few years, so I’m okay in a fight."

Nathaniel laughed, "You’re really downplaying it. You say you’re a security guard, but were you fooling us?"

Carson replied with a smile, "No joke, I really was a security guard before this. Don’t believe me? Look, I still have photos."

Carson took out his phone and flipped through some photos from when he was a security guard.

Nathaniel and Lillian leaned in, their eyes filled with surprise, "You were really a security guard? With skills like that, what a waste."

Carson responded, "Not a waste at all. Once, a local thug came to the door with over a dozen hoodlums, and I took them all down by myself. My boss even rewarded me for it."

As Carson browsed through the photos, he accidentally flipped to a picture he had taken casually while shopping with Samantha Tate the day before.

Nathaniel and Lillian’s eyes lit up at once.
