Chapter 410: Chapter 410 Our little home?_1

"Find me a quieter place to live; I reckon I’ll stay for a while. Always staying at hotels isn’t comfortable."

Since Leonard Reid kept saying he wanted to repay a favor, Carson Flores half-jokingly made a request to him.

Leonard Reid patted his chest and agreed without hesitation.

The next day, as soon as Carson Flores and Samantha Tate got up, Leonard Reid sent a message that he had arranged a house.

After breakfast, Leonard Reid arrived and took the two to the house.

It was a 180 square meter apartment in the city center, yet the neighborhood was quite tranquil, with lots of green plants and lawns, and the apartment came complete with everything one could need, ready to move in right away.

"Nice environment—thanks!"

Carson Flores looked around the apartment. "To find such a place in half a day, you’ve really gone to some trouble."

Leonard Reid laughed. "As long as you’re satisfied, the apartment is yours now."

Carson Flores was slightly taken aback. "Bought it?"

Leonard Reid nodded. "We’re not so poor that we need to rent a place to live. Although I’m not very clear on what you’re doing in Xijing, having a home here would certainly make it more convenient for future visits. Always staying in hotels isn’t ideal—no matter how good they are, they can’t compare to the comfort of one’s own home."

Carson Flores smiled. "Real estate in Xijing is worth its weight in gold. For such a place in this kind of neighborhood, you’ve really splurged."

Leonard Reid chuckled. "It’s just a little token of my gratitude. As long as you like it, that’s what matters."

Carson Flores didn’t stand on ceremony with Leonard Reid and nodded. "Alright, I’ll accept it."

Carson Flores wasn’t sure how long he’d stay in Xijing in the future, but having an apartment indeed made things much more convenient.

Seeing Carson Flores readily accept it, Leonard Reid also breathed a sigh of relief. He was afraid that Carson Flores would be too courteous and not accept the gift, which would imply that Carson wanted no further ties with him. Carson’s easy acceptance meant he didn’t consider Leonard an outsider.

Leonard Reid genuinely wanted to repay Carson Flores. In life and friendship, reciprocity was key—even if the other party lacked nothing, expressing gratitude was completely different from not expressing it at all.

Leonard Reid was well aware that money was not an issue for Carson Flores, as his medical skills and strength went without saying. Just dealing with the Miller Family, Carson and Shirley Miller had taken nearly half of the Miller Family’s fortune, a sum of immense value.

Samantha Tate walked around the apartment, her expression excited.

When Carson Flores had previously gone to Seashore, he stayed in a hotel with Shirley Miller and then moved back into the Miller Family mansion after they regained it. Even though Shirley was not present now, Samantha wouldn’t stay at the Miller Family mansion.

That place was Shirley’s home.

If she stayed at her sister’s house, slept on her sister’s bed, and embraced the man who, in name, was still her brother-in-law, the thought alone felt sinfully awkward.

But this place was completely different!

This was the house that Leonard Reid had given to Carson Flores out of gratitude for his help, and since this apartment was in Xijing, far from Seashore, excluding the definition of marital property, this house had nothing to do with Shirley Miller.

She and Carson Flores, far from their hometown, living here together—could this be considered their little home in Xijing?

A private space belonging solely to the two of them?

Here, they could be open and legitimate, without worrying about the judgmental gaze of others...

After lunch, Leonard Reid said his goodbyes and left, while Samantha Tate, brimming with excitement, pulled Carson Flores to shop for daily necessities.

"Let’s eat at home tonight, to celebrate your housewarming—how about that?"

Carson Flores, turning to her with a smile, asked, "Do you know how to cook?"

Samantha Tate’s mouth fell open, her expression awkward. "Right, I forgot; I don’t know how to cook."

Samantha Tate, coming from a wealthy family, had never stepped foot in a kitchen her whole life.

Watching her expression, Carson Flores couldn’t help but laugh. "I’ll cook, and you can wash the dishes—how’s that?"

Samantha Tate nodded vigorously, her face filled with joy. "That works, and I can help you out... You, a Grandmaster, can actually cook?"

Carson Flores explained, "I’ve been taking care of myself since I was young, and I also had to look after my master’s meals. I’ve been cooking for over ten years—do you think I can cook?"

Samantha Tate asked curiously, "You keep mentioning your master—where is he now?"

Carson Flores gave a wry smile. "I don’t know. I feel like he’s deliberately avoiding me, probably afraid that I would ask about my origins."

Samantha Tate inquired with concern, "Your aunt is from the Frost Family—when do you plan to visit the Frost Family?"

Carson Flores pondered for a moment. "I’ll settle in today and go tomorrow."

Samantha Tate asked curiously, "With what identity do you plan to meet the Frost Family Members? As a Great Grandmaster? A Physician?"

Carson Flores blinked and suddenly laughed. "Didn’t I used to be a security guard?"

Samantha Tate couldn’t help but laugh out loud. "Are you planning to pretend to be a poor relative?"

Carson Flores smiled. "I’m not lying—I used to be a soldier, then a salesman, and a security guard. These are all facts..."

Carson Flores tilted his head slightly, his eyes shining under the sunlight. "I hope they’ll make their decisions more decisively—it’s better for everyone that way."
