Chapter 404: Chapter 404: How did you get along with my sister?_1

Seashore Airport.

Samantha Tate looped her arm through Carson Flores’s as they walked out of the airport, only for a cold wind to hit them, making her shrink into herself a bit.

"It’s so cold in Seashore!"

Lydia Howell chuckled, "The temperature difference between the north and south is quite big. It’s much colder here compared to Seashore."

Carson Flores glanced at Samantha Tate, who was wearing a trench coat and skirt, and laughed, "It’s already October, Seashore is almost in winter. You’re wearing so little, aren’t you asking to freeze?"

Samantha Tate pouted, "Aren’t you wearing just as little as me?"

Carson Flores smiled, "I’m a Cultivator, a Great Grandmaster. My body is robust. Even in the harsh winter, I could wear this much and it wouldn’t be a problem. You shouldn’t compare yourself to me."

Samantha Tate sighed, "Cultivators really are amazing at everything, they’re even better at resisting the cold."

Leonard Reid watched the two bicker with a smile, "Although the north is colder, they start heating in November. Once you’re inside a building, it’s as comfortable as spring or autumn."

A black sedan glided over, and Kye Stein, the secretary, invited everyone to get in, and the car drove to the hotel.

Upon entering the five-star hotel, Carson Flores and Samantha Tate were surprised to find that Leonard Reid had booked a double room for them.

It wasn’t Leonard Reid’s fault, though. The two were lovers, something even Samantha Tate’s parents knew and approved of. In today’s society, who would imagine that the two hadn’t actually slept together yet?

They exchanged glances, their eyes holding a subtle complexity.

Carson Flores leaned closer and whispered, "Do you want me to book another room later?"

Samantha Tate pursed her lips, "No need."

Worried that Carson Flores might misunderstand, Samantha Tate quickly added in a low voice, "I don’t want to cause any misunderstandings. Mr. Reid knows my dad..."

As soon as Carson Flores heard this, he instantly understood.

Samantha Tate was afraid their actual non-couple relationship would be exposed and that the news would reach her parents.

Alright then, if she’s afraid of being found out, they might as well share a room.

After all, Carson Flores was very familiar with this routine!

In the past, hadn’t he always shared a room with Shirley Miller, keeping to their own sides of the bed? Only now, the person had changed to Samantha Tate...

Life sure was strange!

In the evening, Leonard Reid treated the four of them to an authentic Seashore lamb hotpot dinner, which left everyone praising it endlessly.

"I’ve already contacted that elderly gentleman, we’ll head over tomorrow morning. Do you have any issues with that on your end?"

Although Carson Flores had come to Seashore with a mission, he was in no rush regarding his schedule.

The mystery of his background had persisted for twenty-seven years already, so he wasn’t concerned about a little more time. As for dealing with Oscar Miller, Carson Flores wasn’t in a hurry either.

"Sure, whatever you arrange is fine."

Leonard Reid breathed a sigh of relief, "Great, I’ll confirm the time with them then."

After dinner, due to the chilly weather and exhaustion from the flight, and with no inclination to wander around, they went straight back to the hotel.

Lydia Howell’s room was right next to theirs. Watching Carson Flores and Samantha Tate standing at the door, the corners of Lydia Howell’s mouth couldn’t help but turn up slightly.

Carson Flores noticed Lydia Howell’s peculiar expression and felt somewhat embarrassed.

Lydia Howell quickly opened her door and entered, lest she burst out laughing.

This was just too amusing.

Carson Flores really was remarkable!

Married to one sister, yet romantically involved with his wife’s cousin— what was real and what was pretend between them?

Lydia Howell knew that Carson Flores and Shirley Miller hadn’t crossed that final line; they were a couple in public, but had always stayed in separate rooms in the hotel. So, Lydia Howell could guess that there were issues with Carson Flores and Shirley Miller’s marriage. Carson Flores having a new love didn’t seem like a big deal, but the identity of this new love was a tad embarrassing.

Of course, Lydia Howell wasn’t one to talk, nor was she going to judge.

She was very clear about her own position. Besides, if the others involved weren’t saying anything and it was consensual, what business was it of hers?

Samantha Tate’s cheeks were slightly flushed. Although she had shared a bed with Carson Flores the last time, she had been drunk, but now she was sober, giving her the feeling of a girl going on a palanquin for the first time.

Once inside the room and the door closed, Carson Flores turned around, "Are we really staying together?"

Samantha Tate, not directly answering his question, said, "How did you and my sister get along before?"

Carson Flores touched his nose, feeling a bit embarrassed, "The old man was there at home, so we only had one room. Your sister insisted I sleep on the bed and she would sleep on the floor. But she couldn’t sleep well on the floor, and when I offered to swap, she wouldn’t agree; eventually, we just ended up both sleeping on the bed with our own blankets, each to their own..."

"When we stayed at the hotel in Seashore, we booked two rooms, one each. Lydia Howell knows about this and because of it, Camille Rhodes, when investigating my background, stumbled upon this clue, guessing that there was a problem with my marriage to your sister. I can quietly book another room..."

"There’s no need."

Samantha Tate bit her lip, "Being able to live with your sister, such a beautiful woman, while remaining respectful proves you’re a true gentleman. Let’s just stay together. After all, the bed is wide enough for both of us, and it’s not like we haven’t shared it before..."
