Chapter 401: Chapter 401: She Actually Cried!_1

"Ding-a-ling!"

Carson Flores reached for the cellphone on the desk, glanced at the screen, and answered the call.

Leonard Reid.

"You finally answered the phone. Has your retreat ended?"

Carson laughed, "Yes, just finished. Is there something urgent you need me for?"

"Nope, that plot of land is now mine, thanks to your help. The Martinez Family stepped aside, so I took it, and I want to invite you for a drink."

"Sure! I’m definitely in if there’s a drink involved."

"Then I’ll pick you up at 5:30."

"Why bother picking me up? Just send me your location, and I’ll get there myself."

"Alright then, I won’t stand on ceremony."

Carson hung up the phone, thought for a moment, and made a call to Samantha Tate.

"What are you up to?"

Samantha responded with a delighted tone, "I’m preparing for the graduation ceremony. Are you out of retreat?"

"I’ll come find you later, and we can head to dinner together. Old Liu, oh, Leonard Reid, has invited me for a drink."

Samantha hesitated, "Would it be inappropriate for me to go?"

Carson laughed, "You’re my girlfriend, and Leonard Reid knows you too. Besides, we’re just having drinks, not heading to a nightclub or lounge. What’s the inconvenience?"

Samantha naturally wanted to accompany Carson, especially since they hadn’t seen each other for about half a month and she missed him dearly. She happily agreed, "Alright!"

In the afternoon, Carson went to the place where Samantha was training, and on the way, he bought a bunch of roses.

When Samantha walked out of the classroom, Carson approached her with the flowers and said with a smile, "Congratulations on your graduation!"

Samantha’s face lit up with surprise. She took the flowers, smelled them, and smiled, "They’re fragrant, thank you."

Henry White then stepped out the door and his expression changed the moment he saw Carson, growing quite nervous. Originally intending to slip away along the wall corner, he noticed Carson staring at him and had no choice but to brave it and come over.

"Mr. Flores, hello!"

Carson smiled, "President White, I’ve been racking my brains, but still can’t think of any good business ideas. It seems like security work suits me best. I’m afraid I won’t need that investment money you mentioned..."

Henry White’s face turned even paler, and his smile became more forced, "Mr. Flores is joking. I was blind to greatness in front of me; I hope you can forgive my earlier ignorance."

Carson laughed, "You’re overthinking it, President White. You haven’t done anything that needs my forgiveness. In fact, I should thank you. Without you, how could I have made twenty million to buy a car for Samantha?"

Recalling the old matter, Henry White was on the verge of tears.

How could he have known that Carson, a mere security guard, would be so vicious!

Having friends in the world of cultivators, he was very well aware that the Miller Family’s downfall and Carson as the culprit. What was more astonishing was that Carson became a Great Grandmaster and then beat Nash Acevedo, the top figure of Seashore, into a cripple, and even forced an Innate Grandmaster from the Divine Cloudy Sect to kneel publicly.

Such a formidable figure was without a doubt the first man of Seashore.

Among the Eight Great Families of Seashore, the Miller Family was destroyed because of him, the Acevedo Family was crippled because of him, and the Johnston Family, Fitzgerald Family, and Martinez Family all revolved around him as staunch supporters. Now, in the whole of Seashore, who would dare to stand against Carson Flores or ruffle his feathers?

At his word, Seashore itself would tremble!

Seeing Henry White nearly in tears from terror, Carson decided not to tease him anymore, patted his shoulder, and said with a laugh, "Congratulations on your graduation. May you achieve great success."

Henry White trembled slightly from the pat, fearing that Carson might have placed some kind of hex on him. Don’t cultivators have many ways to kill someone without any trace?

The more Henry White thought about it, the more frightened he became, wondering if today, being his graduation, meant Carson was ready to deal with him.

Without caring about the people around, Henry White dropped to his knees with a thud.

"Mr. Flores, I admit I was indeed infatuated with Miss Tate at first, but I didn’t know she had a boyfriend at the time. After meeting you, I gave up on any thought of her, never harboring any inappropriate intentions toward her again. Please spare me, Mr. Flores."

Carson looked at Henry White with surprise, "Why are you kneeling? I’ve said nothing about doing anything to you."

Henry White glanced at his own shoulder with a woeful expression, "You just patted my shoulder..."

Carson paused for a moment, then, catching on, laughed, "I was congratulating you, not casting any spells on you. You’re overthinking this. Get up now, or people might think I did something to you."

Upon hearing there was no sneak attack, Henry White breathed a sigh of relief and quickly stood up, "Thank you, Mr. Flores, for your mercy. I wish you and Miss Tate a blessed union, an early birth of a precious child, and a lifetime of happiness together!"

After saying that, Henry White turned and ran off, his frantic escape resembling someone fleeing from an Evil Ghost.

Carson turned to look at Samantha Tate, who was trying to hold back her laughter, and shrugged helplessly, "I really didn’t do anything. He’s just feeling guilty. That’s not my fault, right?"

Blushing slightly, Samantha pulled Carson to leave, "Have you really become so imposing, able to make a grown man cry..."

Carson chuckled, "Well, I am now the only Great Grandmaster and number one in Seashore. You tell me if that’s imposing or not?"
