Carson Flores looked at the phone and said indifferently, "Call him."

Johnny Gross obediently dialed Shane Fox’s number and turned on the speakerphone.

"Hello?"

Johnny Gross said respectfully, "Mr. Fox, Carson Flores has come to see me."

Shane Fox was silent for two seconds, "Is he right next to you?"

Johnny Gross replied, "Yes, I have the speakerphone on."

Carson Flores interjected, "Five Dragon Sect, Shane Fox?"

Shane Fox’s tone was cold, "Carson Flores?"

Carson Flores questioned, "Years ago, you tried to kill my parents and wanted me dead as well?"

Shane Fox answered cleanly, "Yes, back then, had I not been delayed by something at the last minute, which made me a bit late, your entire family would have been long reunited in the underworld. And because I arrived late, your parents were rescued by someone, and for that, I was penalized with ten years of hard labor..."

Carson Flores inquired, "Do you know who took my parents away?"

"I do."

Shane Fox snorted coldly in response, "I know, but I won’t tell you. If you want to know, come find me yourself."

Carson Flores replied calmly, "Fine then, wait for me. I’ll come looking for you."

Shane Fox laughed loudly, "Alright, I’ll wait."

Shane Fox hung up the call, and Johnny Gross looked at the silent Carson Flores, tentatively saying, "Though I did indeed attempt to kill your father back then, I never truly hurt him..."

Carson Flores raised his head and glanced at Johnny Gross, "Back then, that woman was about to attack you, but my father stopped her?"

Johnny Gross nodded, his expression a bit awkward, "Yes."

Carson Flores spoke flatly, "Since my father spared your life back then and even interceded for you, naturally, I won’t make things difficult for you either. Your life can stay with you for now. But if I ever find out you’ve lied or kept anything from me, I’ll come looking for you."

Johnny Gross heaved a huge sigh of relief and quickly swore, "Everything I’ve said is true. If there’s a single lie, may lightning strike me down, and may I die a horrible death. You can come for my life anytime!"
