Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Trouble Arises, My Divine Cloudy Sect Will Shoulder It

Atticus Gross intended to stand up for Josephine Harrison, playing right into Carson Flores’s hands.

As Carson Flores was considering how to approach Johnny Gross while being watched by the Divine Cloudy Sect, Atticus Gross emerged – could anything be more perfect?

Having dealt with the junior, could he be afraid that the senior wouldn’t show up?

Since the Divine Cloudy Sect’s Josephine Harrison and Jensen Meadows were destined to trouble him, why not take this chance to escalate the situation?

This was the Southwest Gathering, with all three sects and four clans in attendance. The Divine Cloudy Sect might be powerful, but it was only one of the seven greats – this was not a place it could dictate on its own.

The Divine Cloudy Sect was influential, and within the alliance of the three sects and four clans, there were certainly those who disliked it and would relish seeing it humiliated. So, the bigger the scandal, the safer he would be. After all, however the situation was spun, he had the moral high ground. If things were done quietly, the Divine Cloudy Sect might send an expert to deal with him covertly - that would be far less desirable.

Maverick Roth walked over and reached for Carson Flores’s shoulder, but in the next second, Maverick’s hand was caught by Carson’s.

With a deft twist, Maverick was brought to his knees.

The entire process was swift and clean, and to the onlookers, it seemed as if Maverick walked over and promptly knelt down of his own accord.

There were many diners in the restaurant, and eyes lit up at the scene, as gazes crisscrossed, each brimming with the excited sheen of Bagua.

This young man seems to be more than he appears.

There’s a good show to watch.

Maverick’s face turned ashen, both shocked and baffled. How had he been so easily overpowered?

He had let down his guard!

"Let go of me!"

Carson Flores smiled faintly, "Let go of you, so you can throw me out?"

Castiel Martinez and the others roared with laughter. They had already seen through Carson Flores’s intentions – he wanted to make a big scene!

To put Atticus Gross and Josephine Harrison in an awkward position!

The laughter of the crowd, like slaps to the face, spurred Maverick to a furious rage. He reflexively pulled out a dagger and savagely stabbed at Carson Flores’s lower back.

"Ah!"

This sudden assault caused a chorus of gasps throughout the restaurant.

The dagger did not penetrate Carson Flores’s back because he had grabbed Maverick’s wrist. This time, Carson showed no mercy.

"Crack!"

With a backhand twist, Carson broke Maverick’s wrist. The dagger fell, only to be deftly caught by Carson, who then stabbed it down in one smooth motion.

"Swoosh!"

Amid the sharp, rushing sound of Breaking Wind, the dagger impaled Maverick’s uninjured left hand, piercing through the solid wood tabletop, pinning his hand harshly to the table.

Maverick screamed in agony, his whole body going limp, and tears and snot streaming down his face.

With his right hand broken by Carson, and his left now nailed to the table, he resembled a pinned grasshopper, writhing and bouncing but utterly unable to free himself.

The scene stunned everyone.

On one hand, there was Maverick’s vicious surprise attack, and on the other, Carson Flores’s crisp and violent retaliation, striking with brutal efficiency and absolutely no leniency!

This kid is tough!

Though Maverick was from the Yuyu Sect, in effect, he was acting on behalf of the Divine Cloudy Sect’s Josephine Harrison – in other words, Carson was slapping the Divine Cloudy Sect in the face!

What’s the background of this kid?

To actually dare to stand against the Divine Cloudy Sect?

Josephine Harrison and Atticus Gross’s eyes were wide open as they beheld Maverick pinned to the table. Looking again at a nonchalant Carson Flores, who seemed as if he had merely waved away an annoying buzzing fly, both were in shock.

Maverick’s sneak attack, they had seen, but Carson Flores’s explosive counterattack, felt like a slap in their faces.

Spare the rod and spoil the dog, they say, but Carson didn’t even ask; he simply struck the dog down right in front of them!

Atticus Gross pointed at Carson Flores and shouted furiously, "You dare to commit violence so brazenly, you are lawless!"

Carson Flores chuckled, "Legitimate defense. If you can’t see clearly, there are surveillance cameras in this restaurant. You can check the footage and watch it several times."

Carson gestured leisurely to a nearby camera, his demeanor calm, without a trace of the anxiety or unease that might follow an act of violence.

Atticus Gross scoffed, "You think no one here can handle you just because you have a few tricks up your sleeve?"

Carson Flores smiled slightly, "I thought this place operated on reason, what do you think?"

Atticus Gross clenched his teeth, wanting to charge forward, but he felt reticent.

The miserable state of Maverick was a testament to Carson Flores’s ruthless nature. Although Atticus considered himself stronger than Maverick, it was by a slim margin. Maverick had already suffered; if Atticus went forward, wouldn’t he suffer the same fate?

Instinctively, Atticus turned to look at Josephine Harrison beside him. After all, this was her call to make, and if anything went wrong, in the end, she would have to bear the brunt.

Josephine Harrison sneered, having regained her composure, "Some skill, indeed. No wonder you’re so arrogant. Atticus, your Yuyu Sect is in charge of this event’s logistics. Surely you can handle a rootless nobody, can’t you? Go ahead and call your people. If anything happens, the Divine Cloudy Sect will back you up..."
