Chapter 325: Chapter 325: Only children make choices, adults want it all_1
"So, how do you plan to introduce me?"
Carson Flores sat in Camille Rhodes’s car on the way to the gathering at the hotel, where Camille leaned on Carson without any hesitation, extremely affectionate.
Camille, smiling, asked, "How do you want me to introduce you, my friend, my boyfriend, my man...?"
Carson laughed, "Whichever you prefer, I’m just a decoy anyway, aren’t I?"
Camille chuckled with pursed lips, "I won’t make it difficult for you, let’s just say friend, but I’ll make sure he understands what that ’friend’ means."
Carson joked, "By giving me a hug and a kiss or two?"
Camille laughed, "I have no problem with that, I’m not a married man, what’s there to fear?"
Carson said irritably, "This is like being married but enjoying the perks of a bachelor."
Camille laughed so hard she leaned back and forth, "It’s fine, when you’re with me, you get to enjoy all the benefits of marriage as a bachelor. Honestly, knowing about your relationship, I feel even less guilty. So, borrowing you as a decoy feels quite justified to me. Actually, my relationship with you is even closer than hers."
Carson laughed, "Am I merchandise to be passed around?"
Camille leaned in closer and whispered in Carson’s ear, "You’re not merchandise, but you are very satisfying. Mary hasn’t had a taste of you; she doesn’t know what she’s missing or she’d definitely not let you go."
Carson rolled his eyes at Camille, "You talk like a hooligan. Speak properly."
Camille chuckled lightly, "I didn’t say anything outrageous—it’s the truth. Before, she wanted to get back at the Miller Family, but now the Miller Family is out of the picture, should there be a new definition to your relationship?"
Carson shook his head, "Perhaps, we haven’t talked about this matter for the time being. She’s planning a trip and I don’t know how long she’ll be gone. I guess we’ll probably have a talk when she gets back."
Camille curiously asked, "Putting aside her opinion for a moment, do you want to divorce?"
Carson sighed, "I don’t know."
Camille, curious in tone, "If you like her, you like her; if not, then not. Why say you don’t know? You don’t strike me as someone indecisive."
Carson inwardly sighed; if it weren’t for Samantha Tate, it indeed would be simple.
But now, he clearly harbored feelings for Shirley Miller, yet Samantha was waiting for him, and his thoughts were unavoidably conflicted.
Camille, observing Carson’s expression, guessed, "Could it be that you’ve got someone on the side? Because of this person, you considered divorce, but then you found yourself falling for Mary. Now the thought of divorce makes you hesitant to let go?"
Damn, are you psychic?
How could she have guessed all that?
Carson looked at Camille in shock, "How did you guess all this?"
Camille’s eyes widened, equally shocked, "No way, I actually got it right? Mr. Flores, I must say I underestimated you—looks like you keep the flag flying at home and have banners waving elsewhere."
Carson offered no rebuttal, for things were exactly that way: "Pretty much."
Camille giggled, "I get it. Because you agreed on certain terms, to not meddle in each other’s affairs, and had a sham marriage, even if you had someone else, Mary wouldn’t care about it. You had thought about splitting up with Mary, so it was only natural to take a liking to a nice person you met. But you never expected to develop feelings for Mary and now you find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place..."
Women’s intuition is truly frightening!
He hadn’t said a word, yet she had guessed everything with crystal clarity...
Carson, like a dead pig not fearing boiling water, cheekily asked, "Right, that’s exactly it. Do you have any good advice?"
Camille said with a laugh, "Do you even need advice? Children make choices, but adults want it all."
Want it all?
Carson’s heartbeat quickened, "Is that really possible?"
Camille huffed, "What’s not possible about it? When it comes to love, isn’t it all about willing participants? Sure, you can only be married to one person, but not every woman cares about that marriage certificate. Those who like you will always like you, and those who don’t won’t start liking you simply because of a piece of paper. As long as you can give them what they want, the rest isn’t a problem. Look, we get along just fine; we don’t even have the status of lovers, let alone a marriage license. What matters is that we’re happy."
Carson looked doubtful, "Not every woman is as open-minded as you, right?"
Camille said with a smile, "Certainly not. But once a woman falls for a man, she can deceive herself. As long as you treat her well, nothing else is a problem."
Carson subconsciously thought of the words Samantha Tate had said to him before, and couldn’t deny that Camille made quite a bit of sense.
Indeed, sometimes a woman understands women the best.
"Why not bring her to me sometime, and I’ll help you sort it out?"
Carson was somewhat sheepish, "You just sort out your own affairs."
Camille laughed lightly, "You can always come to me whenever you face a difficult question. I’m very keen on helping others. I’d also like to see the kind of woman that could captivate you..."
"Sure!"
As they spoke, the car arrived at the hotel, Camille walked into the restaurant arm in arm with Carson, displaying an affectionate demeanor.
When Carson saw the man who stood up to greet them, his expression suddenly became extremely odd.
Shirley Miller’s well-to-do classmate from the Western Capital, Santino Vasquez?
This was going to be awkward.
