Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Do You Think You Are a Grandmaster?_1
The Miller Family was in real estate, and Carson Flores was certainly aware of it, but he hadn’t expected that just two days after running into Harper Miller and getting a small cut from the Miller Family, he’d bump into them again.
Seashore was such a vast city, yet to run into them consecutively like this really suggested that adversaries seemed fated to meet on a narrow road.
Since it involved the Miller Family, Carson’s interest suddenly intensified.
He didn’t mind provoking the Miller Family once more.
Lately, the Miller Family had been quiet and undisturbed, with no one troubling Carson, making him feel somewhat uneasy, like "there’s always someone out to get the emperor".
"I didn’t want to intervene, I’ve already said it, haven’t I? Just negotiate properly, no fights, then it’s none of my business, even if it’s the Miller Family, there’s a need to be reasonable, right? If you’re taking away people’s homes where they’ve lived for generations, you’ve got to give them fair compensation, isn’t there an official guide? Just follow that, and wouldn’t that be fine?"
The middle-aged man was slightly surprised, not expecting that after mentioning the Miller Family’s name, this young man would still not back down, but instead stood firm as if he had the right and was not afraid of anything.
"So you’re saying that you’re prepared to manage this through to the end?"
Carson shrugged his shoulders, "Looks like you need to go to the hospital to get your ears checked, I’ve already made myself very clear, but you don’t understand. Oh, or maybe you should see a neurologist, that could work."
The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes slightly, "Are you mocking me?"
Carson smiled, "Anyway, I said what I needed to, what you think about it is your business."
The middle-aged man glared coldly at Carson, who was not in the least bit intimidated and met his gaze calmly, his face still adorned with that lazy and confident smile.
"Friend, you seem quite confident in yourself, what’s your background? Tell me, so the Miller Family can decide whether you’re worth provoking."
Carson smiled, "May I ask your honorable surname?"
The middle-aged man furrowed his brow, "Anthony Roth."
Carson sighed, "You’re not even surnamed Miller; seems like you’re just a thug raised by the Miller Family, always speaking on behalf of the Miller Family. It looks like they treat you all quite well, considering you regard yourself as one of the Miller Family."
Anthony Roth’s face suddenly turned two shades redder with anger, Carson’s words striking him like a knife deeply thrust into his heart, then given a severe twist.
"Taking a person’s money to ward off their calamities, the Miller Family has provided me with what I need, and I do their bidding, it’s a simple matter of reciprocation," Anthony Roth retorted mockingly as he stared at Carson, "You don’t expect me to take the Miller Family’s money yet help outsiders instead of them, do you?"
Carson smiled, "Makes sense!"
Although Carson seemed to agree with Anthony Roth’s words, Anthony Roth couldn’t help but feel as if Carson was still mocking him, which made him very irritable.
"Since you refuse to disclose your origins, let me gauge your strength. Let’s see just how confident you are to be so arrogant!"
Carson appeared to be only about twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, while Anthony Roth was already forty-five this year, almost a full twenty years more of cultivation time than Carson, and so he didn’t take Carson seriously.
No matter what, he needed to take care of him first.
The boss had made it clear, remove any obstacles, the deadline was approaching, and this demolition matter had to be settled tonight.
Carson smiled, "We have no grudge between us, and I advise you not to strike, for you are no match for me."
"No match for you?"
Anthony Roth stepped forward with a cold laugh, his fingers hooked like talons, and aimed directly for Carson’s throat, "So young and yet you talk big, do you think you’re a Grandmaster or what?"
Carson reached out, their hands crossed in mid-air, dissolving two moves before Carson moved in close and landed a punch squarely at Anthony Roth’s chest, breaking two of his ribs.
Anthony Roth, in agony and mentally off-guard, watched as Carson’s hand took advantage of the opening, clamping down on his throat like an eagle’s talon. Carson then bared his teeth in a grin at Anthony Roth’s panicked expression, revealing eight pearly whites.
"You’re right; I am a Grandmaster!"
Grandmaster!
A twenty-six or twenty-seven-year-old Grandmaster!
Anthony Roth was shocked and before he could concede, Carson applied force with his hand, flinging him sideways. Anthony Roth had to go with the direction of the force to avoid having his neck snapped.
"Boom!"
Anthony Roth collided with a broken wall, causing yet another portion to collapse, and he tumbled into the heap of bricks that followed.
The noise caught the attention of Tucker Tyler, who was over there negotiating with Augustus Vasquez and other residents. Turning his head, he saw someone sprawled amid the rubble and shaking his head, reminded, "Brother Chen, take it easy, we don’t want any casualties."
Carson couldn’t help but laugh at Tucker Tyler’s words, thinking the poor guy had assumed that the one beaten was him.
It wasn’t strange, considering that he was now with the Miller Family, who were so powerful in Seashore, and he came with the Cultivator experts sent by the Miller Family; naturally, he didn’t think he would be defeated.
Carson smiled, "Tucker Tyler, it’s been a while, you seem to be doing increasingly well. I underestimated you."
Tucker Tyler was stunned for a moment, then realized that the standing figure, though in the shadows, did not appear to be Anthony Roth by stature.
Anthony Roth is the one in the pile of bricks?
So who is this remaining person?
Why does the voice sound so familiar?
Tucker Tyler looked at the shadowy figure stepping out of the darkness, a sudden realization in his heart, a shiver running through him as cold sweat broke out across his back...
