Chapter 275: Chapter 275 Bet Bigger_1

Harper Miller?

Carson Flores looked on with a subtle gaze. She had blurted out Shirley Miller’s name, also carrying the Miller surname, which made her identity obvious.

Encountering someone from the Miller Family here was quite the coincidence.

Samantha Tate clearly had come to the same realization. Due to her cousin Shirley Miller’s experiences, she had no fondness for the Miller Family at all.

"Yes, you’re from the Miller Family, aren’t you?"

Harper Miller laughed arrogantly, "Yes, if we go by blood relations, Shirley Miller should actually call me ’sister.’ But since she left the Miller Family and has nothing to do with us anymore, it doesn’t matter. So, you’re even less related to us than she is."

Samantha Tate laughed in annoyance, "As if everyone wants to be related to you. Don’t flatter yourself too much."

Henry White saw the two women squabbling upon meeting and was surprised beyond belief; he quickly tried to smooth things over, "Since we all know each other, let’s bowl together."

Harper Miller was quite pleasant toward Henry White and smiled in response, "Henry, as you wish. Let’s go bowl."

However, a problem arose. There were three groups of people but only two lanes had been reserved; after all, bowling was more fun when played together.

Samantha Tate, holding onto her bowling ball, spoke indifferently, "We were in the middle of playing. How about Miss Miller, you add another lane?"

Adding another lane was minor, but all the adjacent lanes were taken. To add a lane meant to go far apart, which would essentially separate the group.

Henry White, looking sidelong at Harper Miller, offered with a smile, "I’ll go add it."

Harper Miller glanced at Samantha Tate and suddenly proposed with a smile, "Aren’t you all out together? It wouldn’t be too fun to play separately. Why don’t we all play together?"

Henry White turned to Samantha Tate, noticing the tension between Harper Miller and her. Though he wasn’t sure of the reason, he suddenly had an idea.

The conflict between Harper Miller and Samantha Tate meant Carson Flores would naturally side with Samantha. Wouldn’t that make Shirley Miller and Carson Flores enemies?

Carson was indeed very good at bowling, able to shred wolves with his bare hands, but against the Miller Family, that skill was virtually useless.

It might work against beasts, but against people, would you try it?

The Miller Family was not just any family in Seashore but a household of Cultivators. His so-called skills were laughable in comparison.

Samantha Tate declined tactfully, "We’re not very good, still learning."

Harper Miller scoffed, "What, afraid of losing? Can’t handle it?"

Samantha Tate was immediately provoked, "Who says I can’t handle losing? Bring it on!"

Harper Miller suggested, "It’s two of you and two of us. Let’s compete in pairs then."

Thinking of Carson Flores’s strong bowling instincts, despite being a newcomer, Samantha Tate felt confident, "Let’s play then."

Harper Miller grinned, "Let’s add a bet to make it more exciting. How about that?"

Samantha Tate replied without showing any weakness, "What are we betting on?"

Harper Miller proposed, "Nothing too big for a first meeting. Let’s just make a small wager. How about a million for tea money?"

One million wasn’t a small sum. Samantha Tate could afford it, but losing could still sting.

A million could buy a decent car or outright purchase an apartment in a second-tier city.

Since she had opened her beauty shop outside, she never asked for money from home as all her expenses were from her own earnings.

But she still wanted to gamble.

She would rather lose money than be looked down upon by the Millers. That condescending attitude irked her, and winning would also serve as vindication for her sister.

Carson Flores suddenly interjected with a laugh, "We’re not fond of afternoon tea, so we won’t bet on that."

Harper Miller teased, "What, you can’t even come up with a million? You seem well-dressed, all in new clothes, bought recently, right?"

Harper Miller turned to Samantha Tate, "Miss Tate, what does your boyfriend do? Can’t even pull together a million? Have the Gilliam Family fallen so far? Your sister at least has a company, what about you? Has she stopped caring about you?"

Harper Miller was mocking Samantha Tate, but Samantha, far from getting angry, seemed to find something amusing and actually laughed.

"Oh, he works as a security guard."

Harper Miller’s eyes widened in shock, "My goodness, the Gilliam Family might have fallen, but surely not this far? Your sister still has a company to run, isn’t she looking after you at all?"

Samantha Tate cheerfully responded, "What can I do if that’s who I like, right, brother?"

Carson Flores saw Samantha Tate’s playful smile and knew she was once again amusing herself with his job as a security guard.

She enjoyed the shocked reactions of others when they learned that he was a security guard. It was a source of entertainment for her, like seeing all the various facets of humanity.

Ignoring her, Carson Flores fixed his gaze on Harper Miller and said with a smile, "Miss Miller, no need to rush. I said we won’t bet on tea, but I didn’t say we won’t bet on the expenses before dinner, bar tabs, barbecue costs... Oh, I’m too lazy to add it all up, but if we’re going to play, let’s make it big. Otherwise, it’s not exciting. How about we bet twenty million?"

Harper Miller’s eyes bulged, and she replied with a cold laugh, "What nonsense are you spouting? Twenty million, can you afford that or do you think mere words can scare me?"

Carson Flores casually pulled out the unused card Remy Johnston had given him, "This card has twenty million in it. Oh, no, my mistake, it only has nineteen and a half million. So let’s bet nineteen and a half million. Deal or no deal?"
