Chapter 224: Chapter 224: It’s Fake Anyway, Why Take It Seriously?_1
"How about we change the place, and have another drink?"
"We should pass, with me around, it won’t be convenient for you guys, and I can’t really drink anyway. You go ahead."
Samantha Tate rejected the proposal for a second round with a smile, said goodbye to everyone, and then leisurely strolled towards the hotel arm in arm with Carson Flores.
"Haha, when I introduced you as a security guard, their reactions were hilarious, they looked as if they’d seen a ghost..."
Carson Flores couldn’t help but chuckle, "A rich girl falling for a security guard, do you know how ridiculous and melodramatic that is?"
Samantha Tate hummed, "That’s because they don’t know how awesome you are. Look, after watching the video, they all started looking at you differently."
Carson Flores laughed, "You seem to be enjoying it."
Samantha Tate proudly said, "Of course. It’s like having a priceless gem that looks like an ordinary rock to everyone else. Right now, everyone thinks it’s just a worthless stone, but only I know the dazzling gem that lies beneath its surface. This joy of exclusivity is something that not everyone can understand."
Carson Flores smiled, "I’m not as great as you make me out to be, there are bad sides to me you haven’t seen yet."
Samantha Tate said carelessly, "It doesn’t matter, however bad you are, I still love you."
Carson Flores reached out and tweaked Samantha Tate’s cheek, and she, giggling, hugged him a bit tighter, rubbing her cheek against his hand like a cat cuddling with its owner.
"Aside from searching for your past, have you ever made plans for the future, or thought about the kind of life you want to live?"
Carson Flores thought for a bit, "I’ve been used to being alone since I was a child, and I’ve developed a restless nature. Maybe I’ll just wander around, as staying in one place for too long seems rather dull."
Samantha Tate’s eyes shone with anticipation, "Then you could travel around the world. With your ability, you wouldn’t be afraid of danger wherever you go. Swimming with whales, dancing with lions—it’s thrilling just to think about it."
Carson Flores chuckled, "Actually, I’ve been to quite a few places before, but back then my identity and mindset were different. Now that I have some free time, maybe I’ll travel in a different way, taking it slow."
Samantha Tate pursed her lips, "No matter where you go, remember to take me with you. Don’t you dare leave me behind and sneak off by yourself."
Carson Flores turned to look at Samantha Tate, hesitated, but eventually spoke, "Yueyue, my past experiences have always left me lacking a sense of security. I tend to only think about today without considering tomorrow. I won’t live like normal people, steadily working, getting married, having children, and then living like that for a lifetime."
He sighed, "I’m almost twenty-seven now, and I’ve never thought about settling down completely. You find me novel because I live a life you’ve never experienced, but given more time, you might not feel the same way and may want to settle down... "
Samantha Tate stopped walking, turned to face Carson Flores, "Do you like me? Tell me the truth, don’t lie to me."
Carson Flores nodded, "I do."
Her eyes brightened, "You like me, and I like you too, isn’t that enough?"
Carson Flores explained, "Because I like you, I want to make things clear to you. I don’t want to hurt a woman who likes me."
Samantha Tate shook her head, "If you told me this after we’d slept together, I might have thought of you as a jerk trying to shirk responsibility, looking for an excuse to dump a woman you’ve already bedded and lost interest in. But saying it now proves that you’re a responsible man."
Before Carson Flores could reply, Samantha Tate covered his mouth with her hand, "I’m an adult; I can take responsibility for all my decisions. If you only think about today, then let’s only think about today. We can worry about the future later."
"If you want to get married, I’ll marry you. If you don’t, then we’ll just be lovers. If you want to travel the world, I’ll accompany you to the ends of the earth. If you don’t want kids, we’ll be childfree. If you want to settle down, we’ll find a place with birds and flowers to live. If you love kids, I’ll have a whole bunch for you."
"Stay with me tonight, and let me give myself to you, okay?"
Carson Flores was silent for a few seconds, but eventually, he shook his head, "I’m still married, a married man."
"I don’t care!"
Samantha Tate reached out and hugged Carson Flores, pressing her face against his chest, "It’s all fake anyway, why take it seriously?"
Carson Flores thought about the embrace and the kiss with Shirley Miller, feeling complicated because he realized that his relationship with Shirley Miller had, seemingly without intent, become closer and closer.
With Shirley Miller’s personality, she didn’t get angry at him for hugging and kissing her face. Could it be possible that she felt nothing for him?
If she didn’t have special feelings for him, after leaving Polgel, would she have come to his room wearing just a bathrobe and casually sat on his bed?
When the three-month period was up, could they really sign the divorce agreement calmly?
Calming his breath, Carson Flores said, "There’s been a change in situation."
Samantha Tate looked up in surprise, "What is it, has she discovered your good qualities and doesn’t want to divorce anymore?"
