Chapter 201: Chapter 201 We Know How to Save People!_1
Carson Flores nodded calmly, "Just now, your father’s life was hanging by a thread, and I happened to pass by, so I used acupuncture to sustain his life..."
The man’s expression was cold and resolute as he said in a deep voice, "Then later, please accompany us to the hospital. When my father wakes up, he will surely reward you handsomely."
Carson Flores slightly curled the corners of his lips. The man’s words were polite, but his eyes lacked any trace of gratitude; clearly, he was suspicious of everyone present, including Carson. By asking Carson to go to the hospital, he was implicitly ensuring that Carson didn’t flee.
If his father woke up and it became clear that Carson had acted heroically and saved the man’s life, then surely he would be richly rewarded; that was not in question. But if his father died or became vegetative, then until the truth was uncovered, everyone there would be under suspicion.
If it was proven that his father’s injuries were related to any of them, he would certainly not let them off.
Carson Flores looked around: "This garage is equipped with CCTV cameras. You could have someone review the surveillance footage."
The man’s expression warmed slightly as he nodded to a bodyguard, who then turned toward the elevator entrance, obviously going to check the surveillance footage.
The man approached Carson Flores and extended his hand, his tone becoming a bit more courteous, "Sorry, seeing my father like this has upset me. I beg your understanding. My name is Remy Johnston..."
"Carson Flores."
Carson Flores shook hands with Remy Johnston, "I understand."
Remy Johnston asked, "How is my father’s condition now?"
Carson Flores replied, "Not very good. A sudden attack of anger has triggered an old ailment. I just examined him, and it seems he has suffered some internal damage to the lungs that has never healed. Now that he is older, the situation has become serious..."
Remy Johnston’s eyes lit up, "Mr. Flores, do you have a way to treat him?"
Carson Flores answered, "Let’s get to the hospital and save him first, then we’ll talk about the old ailment."
At that moment, the ambulance arrived, the paramedics got out, lifted the elderly man onto the stretcher, put on an oxygen mask, and loaded him into the ambulance.
Carson Flores reminded the accompanying doctor, "Leave these silver needles in for now, don’t remove them!"
The doctor frowned, displeased, "We know how to save lives; we don’t need you to tell us what to do."
Carson Flores furrowed his brows but didn’t argue. He got into the ambulance with Remy Johnston while Shirley Miller followed in her car. Zara Stein got into Remy Johnston’s car and also headed to the hospital.
Remy Johnston made a phone call, arranging for doctors in a very domineering tone. It was clear from the way he spoke that the Johnston Family had a lot of influence.
The ambulance arrived at Seashore City First Hospital. As Carson Flores got out of the ambulance, he was taken aback by the scene in front of him.
No sooner did Remy Johnston exit the vehicle than a few individuals who looked like hospital administrators came forward to greet him with reverence. Behind them, a large group of doctors and nurses stood ready.
"Mr. Johnston, we have assembled the best team of specialists and will do everything in our power to save Mr. Johnston Senior."
Remy Johnston waved his hand dismissively, "Hurry up, and skip the talk."
"Yes, yes, yes!"
The hospital management quickly complied, with no sign of displeasure on their faces. They promptly directed the doctors to receive the patient.
The doctors and nurses carefully transferred the elderly man from the vehicle and hurried into the hospital. Carson Flores repeated his warning, "You do what you need to do, but don’t remove the silver needles within the next hour."
The medical staff rushed by without paying any attention to Carson Flores.
Carson Flores frowned and said nothing more.
"Mr. Flores, shall we go inside and wait?"
"Hmm."
At that moment, Shirley Miller came to Carson Flores’s side and quietly accompanied him into the hospital.
Once they reached the emergency room, Remy Johnston’s phone rang. He stepped aside to answer it. Shirley Miller leaned in and whispered, "Nothing’s going to go wrong, right?"
Carson Flores gave Shirley Miller a confident and composed smile, "It’s not a major issue."
Shirley Miller looked around to make sure no one was listening, "Is he really going to become vegetative and never wake up?"
Carson Flores’s lips curled up into a slightly mischievous smile, "I lied."
Shirley Miller’s eyes widened in surprise, and she couldn’t help but glance at Zara Stein in the distance, who seemed visibly anxious and agitated. "You really hold a grudge, don’t you?"
Carson Flores just smiled, "If I hadn’t intervened just now, he might not have died, but he’d likely be vegetative. But, since I did treat him, his condition is much better. So, I wasn’t exactly lying, was I?"
Shirley Miller chuckled softly, "When Zara Stein first begged you to save a life, I thought she was driven by love. Turns out she was scared that the man’s death might implicate her..."
"That’s the love of money."
Carson Flores laughed lightly, "Didn’t you see the bunch of LV bags she was carrying? Easily worth a hundred or two hundred thousand..."
Shirley Miller pursed her lips and smiled, "You got your revenge, didn’t you?"
Carson Flores replied, "She got off easy with just those few bows to me. At least once the old man wakes up, he won’t hate her as much. Otherwise, her fate might have been quite grim."
Shirley Miller asked in surprise, "He was awake at that time?"
Carson Flores nodded, "Yes, he regained consciousness after I was done treating him, just temporarily unable to recover fully."
Shirley Miller had a moment of realization, "Saving a life is more meritorious than building a seven-story pagoda; you’ve done a good deed. Now that he’s in the hospital, will they still need your help?"
Carson Flores smiled, "As long as they do as they’re told and don’t remove the silver needles, I won’t need to step in. But if they’re tempted to remove them..."
