Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Will You Be My Special Assistant?_1
Carson Flores and Samantha Tate didn’t end up going to the hotel after all.
If Samantha knew that the person at Carson’s home was Shirley Miller, who knows how she would have reacted, but it certainly wouldn’t have been the indifferent attitude she has now.
Carson decided he’d rather be a gentleman, and either wait until after he and Shirley Miller divorced to truly be with Samantha, or let Samantha know the truth and give her the chance to make the choice again.
Even if he was to be a cad, he wanted to be clear about it.
Carson didn’t go after Oscar Miller to find out where he had run off to, nor did he worry about Oscar bringing a large group of people to deal with him.
If the Miller Family came, they would settle it in Polgel; if not, they would resolve it in Seashore.
After waking up, Carson leisurely arrived at the office, only to receive a call from Shirley Miller.
"Oscar Miller has gone back to Seashore."
Carson asked curiously, "How do you know that?"
Shirley replied, "I called to ask how he was thinking over the matter of his shares, and he just coldly replied that he didn’t want the shares anymore and that he had already returned to Seashore. I’m somewhat puzzled now, what is he up to?"
Carson thought about it and said, "Because I was going to trouble him, he got scared, so he ran away."
Shirley asked in surprise, "Why are you bothering him again? Didn’t you promise me that you wouldn’t go after him or cause trouble for the Miller Family?"
Carson replied, "I’ve already found out about my past. In the last battle before my father disappeared, the Miller Family was involved. If my parents are dead, there’s a good chance the Miller Family is the culprit behind their death, so I will act against the Miller Family to find out the truth about my parents’ disappearance."
Shirley’s voice suddenly rose a few notches, her tone excited and overjoyed, "You’ve found out about your past?"
"Yes!"
Shirley pressed on, "Can you tell me about it?"
This wasn’t really a secret, and now Carson and Shirley had a common enemy.
Carson briefly recounted his background and concluded, "I want to act against the Miller Family. Do you want in?"
Shirley’s tone was filled with surprise and concern, "Of course I do, but the Miller Family isn’t so easy to deal with. What’s your plan?"
Carson had thought this through long ago, "The Miller Family is now grand and expansive, with numerous Cultivator experts. Even if I defeat one or two, it won’t solve the problem. So I plan to bring them down in every aspect. As to how exactly, we’ll play it by ear, since the situation is constantly changing."
Shirley asked, "In that case, I won’t sell my shares. I’ll go to Seashore, and we’ll face the Miller Family together."
Carson asked curiously, "What are you going to do in Seashore?"
Shirley explained, "The Sixth Pharmaceutical Factory we acquired is in Seashore. After I’ve cleaned house within the Miller Group, there’s nobody left to hinder management, which will be easy to handle. There are still many issues with the newly acquired factory, and that was going to be my next focus. I had planned to manage it remotely, but since you’re going to Seashore, I might as well go there and handle things onsite, which is more direct."
"Although the Miller Family’s business spans various industries, pharmaceuticals are the most important. When I proposed acquiring The Sixth Pharmaceutical Factory and changing its direction, I had my own agenda. To act against the Miller Family, I hope to be of help in the pharmaceutical sector."
Carson thought for a moment. He was proficient in combat and medicine, but knew nothing about business management. If he really wanted to take down the Miller Family in all aspects, Shirley could indeed be a big help, at least in terms of the business landscape. She could offer him some ideas.
"Sure!"
Carson agreed readily, "Then let’s go to Seashore together. I’ll start by helping you with the factory."
Shirley exclaimed with delight, "You want to help me with that too?"
Carson chuckled, "Apart from the fact that our three-month agreement isn’t over yet, considering our relationship now, we share the same goal. We’re comrades-in-arms, fighting side by side. It’s about helping each other out. Besides, didn’t you say it yourself? Pharmaceutical is the Miller Family’s main business. Getting The Sixth Pharmaceutical Factory in good shape might prove very useful."
Shirley’s tone suddenly became much lighter, "With your help, I won’t be afraid. I’ve heard that the situation at the pharmaceutical factory is quite complex."
Carson laughed, "Now that you have absolute control and decision-making power, you just need to manage and make the right decisions. I’ll handle the other troubles for you."
Since the two of them were facing a common enemy, their discussions became much more straightforward and relaxed.
"What position do you want to take on this time?"
Carson laughed heartily, "You decide. You know very well that I can’t be involved in managing a business - that’s impossible for me. I don’t have that ability. Whatever position makes it convenient to take part and allows me to chill, that’s the position I’ll take."
Shirley’s voice carried a hint of amusement, "Would you mind being my special assistant for a while?"
Carson answered casually, "Sure, you do your job, and I’ll play games. You give the orders, and I’ll handle the conflicts."
Shirley chuckled, "Alright, it’s settled then. The situation at the pharmaceutical factory is said to be quite severe; you might indeed have to step in and take action..."
