Chapter 179: Chapter 179 Sister, did you see us?_1

The Bat was highly efficient, and by noon the next day, Carson Flores had received the information sent by The Bat.

Carson spent a considerable amount of time reviewing all the information, which included details about the Miller Family as well as Westin Flores and Lucy Frost, and even photos of Westin and Lucy.

Westin was tall and handsome with a bright smile, exuding confidence from head to toe. Lucy was beautiful but had thick eyebrows that lent a heroic air to her visage.

Upon seeing their photos, Carson immediately knew that they were indeed his parents.

Didn’t he just look like a carbon copy of Westin, yet his eyes and eyebrows resembled Lucy more?

There weren’t many records of Westin and Lucy’s achievements, but in every recorded event, Westin was the most dazzling one. In a word, he was like the sun, overshadowing everyone else with his brilliance whenever he was present.

"Too outstanding people can be a bit annoying," Carson muttered under his breath, set down his phone, and continued playing his game.

Twenty-seven years had passed; he wasn’t in a rush for this little bit of time.

"Brother, let’s have dinner together tonight," Samantha Tate called in the afternoon, her tone full of anticipation. Carson laughed, "Sure, what shall we eat?"

Samantha was delighted by Carson’s immediate agreement and enthusiastically suggested, "How about Western food? I’ve made a reservation, what do you think?"

Carson was indifferent about what to eat and casually consented, "Sure!"

"Then I’ll pick you up. Can you get off work a bit earlier?"

"Sure."

At five in the afternoon, Carson went down to the parking garage and got into the red Porsche that Samantha was driving, instantly brightened by the sight.

It was evident that Samantha had dressed up carefully for the day, wearing a blue, one-shoulder, low-cut dress, with newly-curled hair and a delicately made-up face, all of which made her stunningly beautiful.

Carson blinked, "Are there other people joining us for dinner?"

"No."

The admiration in Carson’s eyes did not escape Samantha’s notice, and her spirits lifted, thinking her efforts to dress up were well worth it. "Just the two of us!"

Carson asked in surprise, "Just the two of us, and you’re this formal?"

Samantha’s lips curled into a smile, "Today is my birthday."

Carson was slightly taken aback, "Why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ve come empty-handed, not prepared at all..."

"No need for preparation. Your company on my birthday is the best gift."

Carson smiled, "Alright, from now on, I’m at the birthday girl’s command for the day."

With a smile, Samantha leaned in, wrapped her arms around Carson’s neck, and gave him a kiss.

After a passionate kiss, Samantha leaned back and chuckled, "You said it, you can’t run away today."

Carson’s heart skipped a beat, "Today is your call."

Samantha started the car and left the company. Just as she was about to merge right into the traffic, a white BMW X7 slipped out from the left front stream of cars and passed by the red Porsche, heading towards the company.

Carson instantly spotted Shirley Miller in the driver’s seat, his heart skipped a beat. He had left work early to slip away, yet he still encountered her?

Carson instinctively turned his head to the right, while at the same time, Samantha also saw the familiar BMW X7 and the familiar figure in the driver’s seat.

Samantha’s expression changed slightly, but she didn’t stop her movements, and the car slid into traffic like a swimming fish.

Samantha whispered, "My sister!"

Samantha’s face showed slight panic, but Carson, thinking about the angle at which the two cars had passed each other, let out a sigh of relief, "She probably saw you but didn’t get a clear look at me."

Samantha blinked and was about to speak when her phone rang.

Samantha glanced at the car’s display, unsurprisingly, it was from Shirley Miller.

Taking a deep breath to calm her slightly flustered emotions, Samantha raised her index finger to her lips in a silencing gesture and then answered the call.

"Sister, I was just about to call you. Was that your car just now?"

Shirley’s voice carried a hint of confusion, "Yes, I saw you. Did you come to see me?"

Samantha lied without batting an eye, "You know it’s my birthday today. I was about to come have dinner with you when a friend called me, saying they had prepared a surprise for me and to hurry over, so I just left. I’ll come find you later, okay?"

Shirley casually said, "Oh right, I’ve been so busy I completely forgot about your birthday, I’m so sorry. Happy Birthday, I’ll make up for the gift later!"

Samantha responded cheerily, "That’s fine, Sister. You’re not mad at me for valuing friends over you, are you?"

"Nonsense," Shirley chided with a laugh before switching topics, "I saw someone else in your car, looked like a handsome guy. Is that the friend you mentioned?"

Shirley was vague, obviously because the call could be overheard in the car.

Understanding immediately, Samantha glanced at Carson, "Yeah, that’s him."

Shirley sounded pleasantly surprised, "Oh, spending your birthday together, looks like there’s something brewing. When will you bring him to meet
