Chapter 172: Chapter 172 Get lost!_1
Oscar Miller felt a tinge of unease under Carson Flores’s intense gaze.
In Carson’s eyes, there was no reverence, only a cold mockery.
Fearless.
Condescending.
The situation reminded him of the psychological advantage he had just had over Adan Gilliam, the way he had easily dominated the conversation.
This feeling enraged Oscar, as if he had been humiliated.
Why should he?
After all, wasn’t he the Young Master Miller, prideful at heart? Just now, he had merely stepped back to avoid unnecessary conflict with a powerful cultivator, not out of fear.
Oscar’s eyes glinted with a hint of malice, "I know you’re capable, hence the respect. But don’t get ahead of yourself and think you can start your own dye workshop now."
Carson chuckled, "Oscar Miller, I advise you to stay away from me and the Dariel Family Members, otherwise, don’t blame me when I stop showing respect to the likes of Young Master Miller."
Oscar sneered, "That sounds quite scary. If you have any notable background, feel free to share. Let’s see if it’s anything to be afraid of."
Carson spoke calmly, "I’m no heir to any family, nor am I a Young Master. You don’t have to give me face, but don’t think I’m just trying to scare you. If trouble arises, you, Oscar Miller, might not be able to handle it."
Oscar scoffed, "What an arrogant claim!"
"No point in talking if we don’t see eye to eye...good words are wasted..."
Carson tilted his chin, "Get lost!"
Oscar’s eyes widened in shock, disbelief etched on his face.
Carson Flores just told him to get lost?
Who had ever dared to speak to him like that?
Oscar laughed out of sheer fury, "Brave! You really have the nerve! We’ll just wait and see!"
After speaking, Oscar didn’t wait for a reaction from Carson and turned to leave.
Adan Gilliam was left dumbstruck.
Carson Flores had actually told Oscar to get lost?
That was Young Master Miller, the future heir of the Miller Family!
Seeing the venom and madness in Oscar’s eyes as he left, Adan broke into a cold sweat.
It was over!
He turned around, muttering with remorse, "He had already stepped back, Carson, why provoke him? The Miller Family is wealthy and influential. You’ve disrespected him, and he’s bound to hate you now, surely plotting his revenge."
Watching Adan, now genuinely concerned and considering him as one of his own, Carson’s face lit up with a slight smile, acknowledging Adan’s acceptance and regard for him as a future son-in-law.
Otherwise, why would he be so anxious? By his previous logic, if Oscar Miller dealt with Carson, wouldn’t that serve his interests?
Samantha Tate was aware of the Miller Family’s influence and felt some concern, but upon seeing the calm smile on Carson’s face, she relaxed.
It’s no big deal!
Samantha soothed, "Dad, don’t worry. Carson is very capable. If he dared to say that to Oscar Miller, that means he’s capable. He’s not the type to just talk big."
Reassured by his daughter’s words and recalling Carson’s usual composure, Adan breathed easier, "Carson, the Miller Family is a significant cultivator family here in Seashore, with great influence..."
Carson assured with a smile, "I’m aware, there’s no need to worry about me."
Emma White asked with concern, "Are you sure it’s okay? The Miller Family, a cultivator family like that, they show no mercy. They might not openly retaliate, but they have ways to hurt you in secret..."
Carson securely answered, "Aunt Emma, don’t worry. There really is no issue. The Miller Family can’t harm me."
Adan looked at Carson in surprise. What kind of background did he have to not even regard the Miller Family?
As Carson was comforting the Gilliam couple, Eva Garber quietly approached the grim-faced Oscar, "I’ve just heard some news. The partner for Westley Reid’s commercial center development project in Polgel has been determined. It’s Adan Gilliam’s Seashore Real Estate."
Oscar’s expression changed, "Isn’t Seashore Real Estate of an average scale?"
Eva nodded, "Indeed, there are quite a few real estate developers in Polgel, and Seashore Real Estate is just average."
Oscar’s expression darkened, anomalies indicated something amiss; could it be because of Carson?
No wonder Leonard Reid was so cordial to Adan Gilliam. Yet, his attitude towards Carson was just average, merely a simple greeting without a follow-up, which seemed unlikely.
After some thought, Oscar approached Leonard Reid, who was not far away.
"Mr. Reid."
Leonard turned and smiled, "Mr. Miller, is there something you need?"
Oscar smiled, "I heard Mr. Reid is looking for a partner for a development project?"
Leonard smiled, "Yes, of course. My company isn’t local, so having a local real estate company partnering up would save me a lot of trouble. Tonight’s banquet, in fact, is to announce it publicly, to avoid any further speculation."
Oscar, smiling genially, said, "I would like to ask Mr. Reid for a favor."
Leonard looked at him suspiciously, wondering if Oscar wanted to interfere at this time, maybe to seek cooperation on the commercial center himself.
"Mr. Miller, please, go on."
Oscar stated frankly, "Could you please grant the collaboration opportunity to the Miller Family? Of course, the Miller Family will not accept this favor for nothing; there will be recompense..."
