Chapter 1429: Chapter 1429: Seeing that your bones are tougher, take my sword strike!
Carson Flores felt his scalp tingle.
More than twenty people attack you, I’m so far away, I only sent out a streak of Sword Qi, why did you target me?
The man sitting on the shoulder of the White Jade Statue revealed an expectant expression.
The Light Sword positioned its body in mid-air and then activated.
The people around did not just stand by either; they all used various techniques to attack the Light Sword, reducing its strength since it wasn’t yet time for internal strife or standing idly by.
In the crowd, Evangeline Waters’ eyes showed excitement.
Carson Flores has been targeted by the Light Sword!
The previous two people who were targeted by the Light Sword were both killed, one with both body and soul destroyed, the other with their body obliterated. Carson Flores is merely a Human Immortal, he’s definitely doomed, right?
Carson Flores, go die.
Carson Flores didn’t understand the "grabbing" rules of this Light Sword. Even though the strength of the Light Sword had been greatly reduced by now, he still didn’t believe he could withstand it.
Spencer Steele was by his side, and Carson Flores wasn’t sure if the Light Sword would attack Spencer if he dodged.
He didn’t dare to gamble.
Although Carson Flores still had a trump card Sword Qi, he didn’t dare to use it unless absolutely necessary.
Even though Carson Flores was confident that the Sword Qi would definitely destroy the Light Sword in front of him, the young man who had created the Light Sword was watching.
What’s the use of breaking the Light Sword?
What if he turned hostile and created another Light Sword, or if he personally made a move against Carson Flores, wouldn’t it mean that Carson Flores could only wait for death?
Carson Flores reached out to grab Spencer Steele’s hand and took a step.
At the moment the Light Sword reached him, Carson Flores’s figure vanished from his original spot and appeared directly behind the gigantic White Jade Statue.
The Light Sword slashed through empty space, twirling twice in the air, but it did not attack Carson Flores again. Instead, it chose a nearby target and charged over, causing chaos at the scene once again.
Carson Flores breathed a sigh of relief, good thing, good thing!
This creature isn’t human after all, and it doesn’t seem to hold any deep-seated grudge against him; it doesn’t seem to chase down a single person to attack.
"Yo, kiddo, not bad with your movement technique."
On top of the White Jade Statue, the young man turned his head and looked down at Carson Flores with a teasing tone.
Carson Flores forced a smile: "I was just fleeing for my life; you’re being too kind, senior."
The young man shook his head, smiling: "Although it was a short distance, that was almost like traversing through void; it’s somewhat reminiscent of the Great Void Technique. I’m not teasing you, it’s really quite impressive."
Great Void Technique?
Carson Flores silently noted this name, while watching the Light Sword outside, and replied, "I couldn’t have taken that sword; escaping was my only option."
The young man chuckled: "Let me tell you a secret, if you’re destined, then you could have taken that sword. If you’re not, no matter how much you try to wear it down, you will not be able to withstand it."
Carson Flores felt a sinking feeling and looked up to ask, "Senior, is there really an opportunity within that Light Sword?"
The young man laughed: "Of course, there is. For me, Wade Tate, killing you all would take but the snap of my fingers, there’s no need to deceive you... So, do you want to give it a try?"
Carson Flores shook his head decisively: "I’m only in my thirties, I still have tens of thousands of years of life, my disciple is only sixteen... Alright, we’re afraid of death."
The young man looked at Carson Flores in surprise: "You’re only in your thirties?"
Carson Flores nodded: "Yes, I’m a resident of the Lower Realm, I’ve only ascended to Immortal status less than two years ago."
The young man’s eyes lit up: "So that means you have a high talent?"
Carson Flores shook his head: "My talent is average; I took the longest time to comprehend the first and second levels."
The young man asked with great interest: "If your talent is average, then why were you able to cultivate to the level of a Human Immortal in your thirties?"
Carson Flores thought for a moment: "Maybe... I just have better luck?"
The young man stroked his chin: "Son of Destiny? I’m finding you more and more interesting..."
Looking at the young man’s gaze, Carson Flores inwardly groaned, being remembered by such a person might be a good thing, but it could also be a very, very bad thing.
It’s like sitting by the road and suddenly finding a crawling ant interesting, then deciding to study it, but what’s the likely outcome?
The likelihood is that the ant ends up being toyed with until death.
In front of this young man, Carson Flores was not much stronger than an ant.
Just as Carson Flores was about to speak, the Light Sword came at them again.
Prepared, Carson Flores used the Ground Shrinking Technique, disappearing from the spot with Spencer Steele once more.
This time, Carson Flores hid in another corner far away from the White Jade Statue.
He realized the young man had his eyes on him; those looks and tones did not bode well.
"Hiding?"
The young man let out a snide laugh, flicked his wrist, and the Light Sword flew back to his hand, suspended above it.
Relief washed over everyone below; being chased by the Light Sword was an extremely terrifying experience, and they did not wish to endure it again.
The young man’s gaze swept over the crowd, and he said indifferently, "No need for you to try anymore. A bunch of dull-witted fools, you can’t withstand my sword nor are you worthy of inheriting this opportunity..."
The faces of the crowd suddenly turned quite unsightly, but no one dared to say a word.
Just as Carson Flores breathed a sigh of relief, the young man suddenly bared his teeth in a smile at Carson Flores.
"I think you’ve got quite the backbone; come, try and take a hit from my sword!"
