Chapter 1356: Chapter 1356: Phenomenon Seed, Taking Root and Sprouting
"Elder Robert, can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead."
Carson Flores cautiously asked, "How many people in the sect know about my relationship with Cristopher Hopkins Immortal?"
Robert Compton replied, "Only a limited number of high-ups."
Carson Flores breathed a sigh of relief and requested, "Then, could you keep my identity confidential? The identity of the Human Emperor of the Barbarian Wilderness Realm isn’t much in the Immortal Realm, but it could attract a lot of unnecessary attention..."
Robert Compton was slightly surprised, but he quickly regained his composure, realizing Carson Flores wanted to keep a low profile and avoid unnecessary trouble.
"Alright, since you request it, we naturally won’t proclaim it to the outside world."
Carson Flores breathed a sigh of relief; he just wanted to live quietly here for a while.
After Robert Compton left, the Ghost Tower emerged.
"Planning to settle down here?"
Carson Flores smiled and said, "Yes, I can’t refuse the hospitality. I’ll take this opportunity to familiarize myself with this world and then make further plans."
Delarosa chuckled lightly, "Are you prepared to accept the Phenomenon Seed from Bryant James Eight-Armed Arhat?"
Carson Flores’s eyes lit up, "Is it possible now?"
"Yes."
Delarosa replied, "I have already extracted his Phenomenon Seed, but whether you can withstand it, or allow the Phenomenon Seed to germinate and ultimately integrate, I can’t guarantee that."
Carson Flores grinned, "Let’s try it out; even if I fail, there’s no loss. It just means I’m not destined for it."
Delarosa cautioned, "It will be very painful."
Carson Flores responded, "The refinement of the Sword Bone was also very painful, but didn’t I endure it as well?"
Delarosa thought about it and realized that refining each and every one of his bones, the pain of that process would not likely be less than planting the Phenomenon Seed.
"Then prepare yourself, give it a try, whether it’s successful or not, I will leave afterwards."
Carson Flores felt a bit reluctant inside, but he agreed crisply and cleanly.
"Okay!"
After eating well and resting enough, Carson Flores entered the Ghost Tower full of energy.
"What do I need to do?"
Delarosa smiled lightly, "You just need to do one thing."
Carson Flores raised an eyebrow, "Hmm?"
"Hold on, survive."
No sooner had Delarosa spoken than her right hand raised, palm like a sharp sword, she swiftly thrust it straight into Carson Flores’s chest, piercing directly into his heart.
Damn!
Is it this direct and violent?
Carson Flores clearly felt Delarosa placing something the size of a chickpea into his heart and then withdrew her hand.
Is this little thing the Phenomenon Seed?
Is it a solid object, or a kind of condensed entity like the Primordial Spirit?
Carson Flores took out the Life Essence Pearl, pressing it directly on the wound in his chest.
The damaged heart healed quickly, and the large hole in his chest also healed quickly, as if it had never been injured.
Delarosa raised her hand again, pointing a finger at Carson Flores’s chest.
With that finger, the previously silent Phenomenon Seed inside the heart suddenly became active, like a seed furiously absorbing the "nutrients" from the surrounding "soil."
Carson Flores’s complexion turned pale in an instant, and his whole body hunched over, falling to the ground abruptly, as if suddenly struck by a heart attack.
A vast amount of blood from his heart was absorbed into the Phenomenon Seed, putting a tremendous strain on the heart, as if a piece of originally moist soil had its moisture rapidly sucked out, turning into dry, brittle earth that would crumble on touch.
Carson Flores clenched his teeth, sweat pouring down like rain, his whole body uncontrollably trembling.
Carson Flores pressed the Life Essence Pearl against his chest, furiously inputting Immortal Spirit Qi, moisturizing and repairing the heart which seemed as if it could break at any moment.
Delarosa stood by, quietly watching, her eyes seeming to see through Carson Flores’s body, directly observing the Phenomenon Seed inside him that was frantically absorbing nutrients and beginning to undergo subtle changes.
Time ticked away by the second, and Carson Flores felt like a traveler dying of thirst in the desert, barely aware of the time, with only one thought in his mind.
Hold on!
Don’t faint!
Delarosa had said, once the Phenomenon Seed entered the body and started to sprout, there was only one chance, and if Carson Flores didn’t hold on this time, letting it grow successfully and fully integrate with his body, then it would be a failure.
Carson Flores wouldn’t die, but the Phenomenon Seed would be completely ruined, much like a seed that had been soaked and manipulated in various ways, yet failed to sprout, and obviously wouldn’t have a second chance to do so.
Finally, Carson Flores felt some activity within the Phenomenon Seed in his heart.
Tentacles extended from that chickpea-sized seed, one, two, three...
Countless tiny tentacles pierced through Carson Flores’s heart, then, like plant roots, wrapped tightly around his heart.
Carson Flores was going insane.
The heart is one of the most vulnerable parts of a human body, and even though he was an Immortal, with the Phenomenon Seed using his fresh blood as nourishment and the heart as soil to grow crazily inside it, moving through it, how could it not be painful?
Endure!
Carson Flores didn’t know how long he endured, but suddenly the activity inside his heart stopped.
Carson Flores’s tense body fell backwards onto the ground, breathing heavily.
He looked up at Delarosa’s beautiful face and asked breathlessly, "What’s the situation now?"
Delarosa’s eyes were full of undisguised admiration and awe, she smiled slightly, "It’s hard to imagine, but you succeeded..."
