Chapter 130: Chapter 130 Accidental Success_1
The quiet villa lit up one by one, and a large group of people walked out of the villa, led by none other than the current Family Head of the Woolery Family, Rhys Woolery, who was Ronin Woolery’s father.
Rhys Woolery looked at Carson Flores and sneered, "Where did this greenhorn come from, coming to pay a visit in the dead of night, tired of living, are you?"
Carson Flores smiled faintly, "On a night when the moon is dark, and the wind is high, perfect for taking a life, doesn’t it suit whether you guys kill me and just bury me on a whim, or I kill you guys all the same?"
Rhys Woolery’s expression changed slightly, "Who are you, and what vendetta do you have with my Woolery Family?"
Carson Flores laughed, "I have no vendetta with you, but your son Ronin got on my bad side. I figured if I killed him, you, his father, would definitely seek revenge, by any means necessary, even harming the innocent. So, I decided to come directly to your doorstep, to solve the problem thoroughly."
Ronin Woolery?
It really was a revenge visit!
No wonder he was so arrogant, barging directly through the front gate. Who pays a visit with such impudence?
He’s offending the host even before the fight has started, isn’t he afraid of being killed?
Rhys Woolery said in a deep voice, "How exactly did my son Ronin provoke you, let’s hear it."
Carson Flores laughed softly, "What kind of person your son is, do I really need to tell you? Don’t tell me you have no idea what he’s done?"
Rhys Woolery was silent for two seconds, "Are you here for Shirley Miller? Are you the Cultivator who’s been helping her from the shadows?"
Shirley Miller?
Carson Flores blinked, momentarily confused. How did he get involved with Shirley Miller again?
Could it be that the Woolery Family is the hidden hand behind Brian James?
Had he inadvertently hit the mark by crashing into this?
Carson Flores smiled coldly, without a flinch, "If you wish for no one to know, you mustn’t do it at all. Since you’ve done it, don’t be afraid of others finding out."
The ambiguity of Carson Flores’s words made Rhys Woolery believe that Ronin had already made a move against Shirley Miller, provoking the retaliation of the man before him.
"I was originally guessing who was helping Shirley Miller, thinking about how to draw you out. Now, it turns out, you’ve shown up all by yourself, saving us a lot of trouble."
At this point, it became clear that the Woolery Family indeed had a stake against Shirley Miller. Since that was the case, it was time to settle both the big sister’s and the little sister’s accounts.
"Shirley Miller has a vendetta with your Woolery Family?"
Rhys Woolery sneered coldly, "No vendetta, merely carrying out someone’s request."
Carson Flores was surprised again. The Woolery Family wasn’t the mastermind after all, but simply hired to act against Shirley Miller?
First, there was Brian James, and now the Woolery Family—a dominant force in Polgel. The mastermind behind them must have significant influence to be able to compel the Woolery Family.
Who exactly has Shirley Miller offended?
Was Shirley Miller unaware, or did she know but didn’t tell him?
Carson Flores laughed, "I have no grudge against the Woolery Family. Before we start fighting, I’ll give you a choice. Tell me the identity of the person directing you against Shirley Miller, then call Ronin back, cripple him, and we’ll call it even. I’ll turn around and leave."
Rhys Woolery burst into laughter, "You whippersnapper, you really talk big. White Dragon Mountain, I’ve never heard of any White Dragon Mountain. Could it be you trained in some desolate mountains for a couple of years and now you think you’re invincible?"
Carson Flores tossed his cigarette butt on the ground and snuffed it with his foot, "Looks like we can’t reach an agreement."
Rhys Woolery’s expression turned cold, "Came to my Woolery Family’s door in the dead of night, do you think my family is a marketplace? Since you’ve come today, don’t bother leaving. There’s a patch of wilderness behind the mountain filled with lost spirits and wandering ghosts; go keep them company."
Carson Flores nodded, "Okay then, let’s follow the rules of paying a visit; life or death, it doesn’t matter, who’s coming at me first?"
Paying a visit is a rule among Cultivator Sects, meaning exactly what it sounds like, to visit the sect’s gate. As for the purpose of the visit—whether to challenge, seek revenge, or spar—that depends on the specific situation. Simply put, it’s issuing a challenge according to Cultivator rules.
In a visitation battle, life and death are in one’s own hands.
The Woolery Family is a Cultivator Family, founded and established on martial prowess. Carson Flores, following the rules of Cultivators, has issued a challenge; this will make things simpler.
As long as you can’t beat me, you’ll have to follow my rules. If I’m killed by you all, then it’s my fault for not being skilled enough.
A challenge through visitation is honorable and straightforward. The winner takes all, and the loser submits.
Everyone understands the core principle: if I can defeat all of you honorably and you submit, everything is up for negotiation. If you lose and refuse to acknowledge it, then it would be a breeze for me to silently kill your entire family and eradicate your sect.
A muscular man in his thirties emerged from Rhys Woolery’s side, "Conceited boy, let me teach you a lesson!"
Carson Flores smiled, "Who are you?"
The man huffed coldly, "Sonny Woolery, Ronin is my younger brother."
Carson Flores nodded, "The eldest son of the Woolery Family, huh? Alright, bring it on."
Sonny Woolery quickly charged towards Carson Flores and threw a punch at him, which Carson casually intercepted with the palm of his hand.
Sonny Woolery was taken aback; the opponent had actually blocked his punch without budging an inch?
Before Sonny Woolery could react, Carson Flores had already countered, seizing his fist, pulling him closer, and landing a palm strike on his chest.
