Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Flirt in Person?_1

"Brother, shall we have dinner together tonight?"

"Sure!"

As Carson Flores was about to finish work, he received a call from Samantha Tate. Her voice was soft and sweet, making it impossible to refuse.

The last time he met with Samantha Tate was the night they were attacked by the four beastly men, and their relationship had undergone a huge change.

Before, they were completely pretending to be lovers, but now they had kissed, so to call it pretend would be irresponsible and self-deceiving.

Carson Flores figured he would probably be questioned by Shirley Miller when he got back, so he might as well hide out to avoid the trouble.

Today Samantha Tate was clearly dressed up with intention. She had curled her hair, worn an off-shoulder top with a miniskirt, and strapped on crystal high-heeled sandals. Simple yet fashionable, her fair and long legs moved gracefully, drawing countless men’s looks. Gazes landed on Carson Flores, filled with men’s longing and envy.

"Where shall we go?"

Samantha Tate affectionately hooked her arm through Carson Flores’s, without a hint of hesitation.

They used to be fake lovers, but now they must be real lovers!

Even though he had a mock wedding coming up in three months with another woman, that was fake, wasn’t it?

If she didn’t seize this man with such capability and manliness now, he’d have nothing to do with her in the future.

"Let’s have dinner first, then go see a movie, okay?"

Carson Flores also planned to return home later and laughed, "Sounds good!"

The two were dining when Samantha Tate’s phone suddenly rang.

"Hello, Wendy... I’m having dinner... with my boyfriend..."

After a few words on the phone, Samantha Tate covered the receiver: "A friend encountered some troubles and wants to meet up, probably looking for a heart-to-heart. She sounds really distressed; may I invite her over?"

Carson Flores laughed, "Sure, I have no problem with that."

"Thank you, brother."

After hanging up, Samantha Tate explained: "She’s a regular at my store, close to my age, and we get along well. We often meet up privately for meals and shopping. She just told me on the phone that she was at a dinner with her boyfriend, and a man coveted her, even touching her leg and making lewd comments. She was so aggrieved that she told her boyfriend in the restroom, but he didn’t care at all and excitedly told her how powerful and influential that man was. She was so angry she ran out."

Carson Flores laughed, "Verbal harassment, right in front of her face? Seems her boyfriend cares more about the benefits he can secure than her. Your friend has entrusted herself to the wrong person."

Samantha Tate asked playfully, "Brother, what would you do if I encountered something like that?"

Carson Flores said with a chuckle, "Guess."

Samantha Tate propped her chin in thought, "I can’t guess, but I’m sure that man would be in for it. He probably wouldn’t make it out of the hotel without heading straight to the hospital."

Carson Flores laughed, "You’re that confident about me?"

Samantha Tate smiled proudly, lowering her voice: "I’ve been keeping tabs on Brian James these days, and I heard he entered the hospital that night. Two days later, he and his son were both dead, said to have fallen off a cliff. Brother, did you do it?"

Carson Flores replied candidly, "Yes and no."

Samantha Tate was momentarily puzzled, "What do you mean?"

Carson Flores explained, "It was indeed me who sent Brian James to the hospital because I spared his life to lure his son back. I was present when they died. I originally planned to finish them off myself, but things changed, and somebody else killed them. I was merely a bystander."

Samantha Tate’s eyes sparkled, "I knew it. All that falling off a cliff must have been a pretext. Brother, Brian James had some clout; won’t it cause trouble?"

Carson Flores laughed, "Since I didn’t kill him, what trouble could there be? Besides, someone will step in to handle any issues. No problem."

Samantha Tate looked up to him admiringly, "You are so amazing. Ha-ha, I really admire myself!"

Carson Flores asked in bewilderment, "Admire yourself?"

Samantha Tate boasted, "Yes, amidst the vast sea of people, the chances of finding you were so slim. Had I not taken the initiative, we would have just been strangers who once crossed paths. How could you have become my boyfriend? Don’t you think I have a discerning eye?"

Carson Flores laughed, "Yes, yes, discerning indeed!"

Samantha Tate’s friend Wendy soon arrived, a beautiful woman around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, with slightly swollen eyes as though she had just been crying.

After the introductions, Wendy politely apologized first, "I’m so sorry for intruding on your date."

Carson Flores said with a laugh, "No worries; the more, the merrier."

Samantha Tate consoled, "Have some food first. Men are just like that. If it works out, great; if not, break up. It’s not the end of the world."

Wendy sighed, "He and I were university classmates, and we’ve been dating for four years. He’s been quite good to me, but what happened today has really upset me."

Samantha Tate asked curiously, "I remember your boyfriend’s family is in the trading business, aren’t they quite well off?"

Wendy’s face showed embarrassment; "They are, but how do I put this, relative to ordinary people, his family’s conditions are indeed superior. But within the upper circles, they are not much after all, and the man who took an interest in me is the Woolery Family’s second son..."

Samantha Tate widened her eyes, "The Woolery Family? You’re not talking about that Woolery Family, are you?"

Wendy gave a bitter smile, "Yes, that Woolery Family."

Samantha Tate let out a sigh, "That’s indeed troublesome..."
