Chapter 1139: Chapter 1139: Don’t be afraid, I will make a move
"How about it, I wasn’t wrong, was I? Look, didn’t we just encounter it?"
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal’s voice rose beside him, carrying a trace of laughter.
Carson Flores forced a smile, "It seems my luck is indeed good."
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal laughed lightly, "Although the Immortal Path emphasizes wealth, companions, and location, the life of a true fortune bearer never follows the common road. You come from the Mortal Realm, and in just a few years, you’ve experienced many strange encounters. Not to mention, you’ve conquered three desperate places, and if we count this one, that makes four..."
Carson Flores blinked, "Eternal Tombfield and this place, didn’t you help me?"
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal smiled and said, "Is there a possibility that my appearance is also a manifestation of your fortune?"
Carson Flores laughed, "That does make sense, but now that you mention it, I’m afraid that one day my luck will suddenly run out, and then I’ll start having all sorts of bad luck, like I’m overusing my luck..."
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal shook her head, "That won’t happen to you, no need to worry."
Carson Flores curiously asked, "Can you tell? The first time we met, you said I had great fortune..."
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal nodded, "I’ve studied divination. I’m not incredibly skilled, I can’t see the exact future, but based on physiognomy and divination, I’m generally not wrong."
Carson Flores exclaimed in surprise, "Divination, as in fortune-telling?"
"Yes."
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal replied, "The concept of fate is profoundly mysterious, like looking at flowers through fog, but it indeed exists."
Carson Flores gave a thumbs up, "Immortal, you’re really amazing. Can you see how well my future will pan out?"
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal smiled faintly, her gaze carrying a subtle nuance, "You’ll face twists and turns yet come through safely, the path is rugged but the prospects are limitless."
Carson Flores chuckled, "That’s good, that’s good... Immortal, shall we go now?"
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal nodded, "As I said before, you decide. Don’t be afraid, I’ll assist if we encounter danger."
Carson Flores was greatly reassured.
Carson Flores left the cave and headed towards where the lights were dispersing, but he hadn’t gone far when suddenly a huge disturbance arose from behind him.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Carson Flores darted behind a large tree, just getting his body concealed, then he saw the giant White Ape he had seen before burst out of the grey mist and head towards the lights.
The appearance of the White Ape was just the beginning; following close behind, the massive Mosasaurus Crocodile swung its tail and charged out swiftly. From another direction, the Golden Crown Titan Python, like a bulldozer, flattened countless trees, carrying a ferocious aura as it moved.
In the sky, the terrifying birds spread their wings, covering the sky and sun as they flew towards the lights.
Carson Flores was profoundly shaken.
What treasure was emitting this colorful lights, attracting so many ancient giant beasts?
Those giant beasts all surged into the low-lying area where the lights were, then there was silence.
Carson Flores secretly wondered, what’s going on here?
If they were competing for treasure, wouldn’t they have fought?
Carson Flores edged forward again, soon reaching the edge of the hill.
He looked down and his eyes suddenly widened.
Below the hill was a deep valley, and in the valley was a pond, from which the lights surged. The pond water was pitch black, and he couldn’t see what was at the bottom.
Amid the glimmer of the lights, countless white mist swirled over the pond, while the many giant beasts that had run there earlier, were all gathered around the pond, each stretching their necks, desperately absorbing the mist from the water’s surface.
"Immortal Spirit Qi?"
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal’s surprised voice sounded in Carson Flores’s ear, "It seems the treasure at the bottom of the pond must originate from the Immortal Realm, possessing the ability to convert the local Spiritual Energy into Immortal Spirit Qi. These giant beasts have been absorbing the Immortal Spirit Qi all this time, no wonder they are so powerful..."
Carson Flores lay on the hilltop, watching those terrifying giant beasts, and whispered, "Why are these giant beasts only absorbing the Immortal Spirit Qi at the shore and not diving into the water to search for or devour the treasure?"
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal explained, "Perhaps the treasure can only be useful in this place, and it can’t generate Immortal Spirit Qi if taken away or devoured. Moreover, these giant beasts are very intelligent; if anyone disturbs the treasure, letting other giant beasts miss out on the Immortal Spirit Qi, it’s likely they would be quickly torn to pieces."
Carson Flores replied, "Then we’ll just wait and see."
Carson nervously lay there, observing the scenario. Whoever dared to touch the treasure in the pond would definitely be attacked by all the giant beasts.
They would wait and see.
Immortal Spirit Qi continuously surged from the pond, and the surrounding giant beasts competed fiercely to absorb the Immortal Spirit Qi from the air.
As time passed, the Immortal Spirit Qi emanating from the pond began to thin, and the colorful lights also started to dim. The area illuminated by the lights began to shrink little by little, and the grey mist gradually rolled back in, engulfing the land and enveloping the world in darkness once again.
Carson Flores lay securely hidden, quietly waiting.
