Chapter 1136: Chapter 1136: Ancient Overlord
"What information do we have about this island? That guy outside looks pretty fierce."As Carson Flores inspected the items in the three Space Rings, he asked Cristopher Hopkins.
Cristopher Hopkins replied, "The environment of the Sea of Annihilation is very special, quite similar to the Eternal Tombfield. As the giant beasts from ancient times gradually went extinct, many surrounding giant beasts migrated here. However, due to the lack of food, the vast majority of ancient giant beasts have died off."
"There are still an unknown number of ancient marine beasts in the Sea of Annihilation, and this island, due to its unique environment, has become a gathering place for some flying and amphibious giant beasts."
"The one chasing us just now was probably an Ancient Thunder Spine Dragon, one of the ancient terrestrial overlords, capable of releasing extremely powerful lightning, and is one of the most formidable creatures on this island."
Curiosity piqued, Carson Flores asked, "One of? Does that mean there are other fierce beasts?"
"Yes, there are quite a few. From their memories, there’s at least three types. There’s the Terror Bird, whose massive body, sharp talons, and beak can crush magical treasures. It can also spit deadly poison that can instantly dissolve its prey."
"The Mosasaurus Crocodile, whose body is impervious to blades and possesses immense strength, with an incredibly powerful bite that can even crush magical treasures."
"The Golden Crown Titan Python, with wings allowing short flights. If entangled by it, even a Hollow Void Practitioner is doomed."
Carson Flores whistled, "All these ancient beasts are so huge. How do they compare to the powerful Demon Race?"
Cristopher Hopkins answered, "Ancient beasts are naturally diverse. In ancient times, they were beings that could contend with Great Witches. That should give you an idea of their formidable nature."
These beasts are truly fierce!
Great Witches make pacts with Immortals and can use the powers and abilities of Immortals, which makes them extremely powerful. If these beasts could contend with Great Witches, one can imagine how formidable they must be.
Carson Flores inquired, "Immortal, can you annihilate them?"
Cristopher Hopkins replied, "Under normal circumstances, I obviously could, but right now I can only exert at most ten percent of my strength, not much stronger than a Great Witch. Should we encounter them, I should be able to barely protect myself, but killing them will be difficult."
Carson Flores nodded, "Then let’s just avoid them as we go. After all, you’ve already found your body, so there’s no need to fight them."
Cristopher Hopkins smiled, "But don’t you want to explore this island? I found something in the memories of those three, something good on this island that occasionally bursts forth with sky-reaching rosy light. When the rosy light blossoms, it disperses the grey mist all over the sky, causing the ancient beasts to avoid it from afar..."
Carson’s eyes lit up, "My master said he kept hiding in a cave, not knowing for how long, just waiting for the mist to dissipate before taking the chance to escape. Could it be that it was because the rosy light cleared away the mist, and the beasts all avoided it, which is why he was able to escape smoothly?"
"That should be the case."
Cristopher Hopkins replied, "So, shall we look for what it is?"
Carson laughed, "If we can protect ourselves, then let’s have a look. We’re here already, and if it doesn’t work out, we can just run away, right?"
Cristopher Hopkins nodded, "Fine, if we encounter danger, I’ll block it and you run first."
Naturally, Carson Flores wouldn’t be polite with Cristopher Hopkins. After all, Cristopher was an Immortal, and even though he was just a Primordial Spirit now and much weaker than before, he was still far more powerful than Carson himself.
As they spoke, Carson finished inspecting the spoils of war and laid out a few items he was interested in.
There was the Scorpion Tail Whip, a Great Demon’s Life-bound Magical Treasure, utterly dark like black mysterious iron. It was segmented, with the tail of the whip ending in a triangular shape, wickedly sharp like a Scorpion Tail Needle.
Carson grasped the Scorpion Tail Whip and spurred it with Spiritual Energy. The whip instantly stretched out as if coming to life, continuously extending and swiftly encircling the Altar. Then, it tightened around the Altar and the scorption tail lashed out, fiercely stabbing downward.
Instantly, the Altar was pierced through, stone fragments flying everywhere.
The leading man’s long sword, forged from excellent black gold-iron, was not only incredibly sturdy and sharp, but also conducted Spiritual Energy exceptionally well, allowing it to bring out the wielder’s strength to the fullest.
The sword was formidable, but it wasn’t particularly useful to Carson Flores because it didn’t suit his fighting style.
There was also a Chaos Soul Pearl, the magical treasure of one of the Female Immortal Slaves. The pearl could vary in size and harbored a special Formation. When stimulated by Spiritual Energy, it could dazzle and disorient its target, delaying their reactions.
The use of the Chaos Soul Pearl was straightforward: just hurl it at the target. Once activated, the pearl’s internal Formation would inflict mental shocks. When the target’s mind was disrupted, the Chaos Soul Pearl would hit them directly, causing significant damage.
Direct frontal attacks would be less effective, but a sneak attack could catch the enemy off guard, which was often more than enough for a killing blow.
Carson picked up a box that contained a ping-pong ball-sized red elixir. As soon as he opened the box, a delightful fragrance wafted out, refreshing the spirit.
"Immortal, what kind of elixir is this? It looks extraordinary."
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal’s gaze was distant, "Immortal Origin Pill. It’s what made the Immortal Slaves..."
