Chapter 1114: Chapter 1114: I Just Like How You Hate Me but Can’t Get Rid of Me

Carson Flores’s vision blurred, and before he knew it, he was standing inside the tower.

Carson Flores glanced around and was momentarily dumbstruck.

Inside the tower?

Where was any tower?

He found himself at the foot of a mountain, a white jade staircase winding upwards, leading to the summit of the peak. The sides of the stairway were as steep as knife edges, with mist rising up, obscuring the depths, its bottom unknown.

Carson Flores looked left and right, noticing Bryant James not far from him, along with a dozen other adventurers.

Looking further around, he saw overlapping peaks shrouded in white mist, endless in sight. When he looked up at the sky, it was blue and clear, with gentle sunshine.

The Tower World?

Was this reality or merely an illusion?

On the white jade steps, numerous cultivators were making their way upwards, their pace slowing as they ascended.

"Ah!"

In the middle of the celestial ladder, a middle-aged man suddenly let out a great shout, swinging his Flying Sword in front of him like a madman, completely out of his mind.

He staggered step by step towards the edge of the ladder and, under the gaze of all, plunged into the mist with a scream, disappearing from view.

Bryant James spared Carson Flores a cold glance and began walking forward, stepping onto the white jade staircase, ascending slowly but steadily.

Carson Flores smiled, looked around, and felt a faint, invisible touch on his shoulder.

Instantly, he felt reassured.

The Immortal of Cristopher Hopkins was beside him, what was there to fear?

Carson Flores stepped onto the staircase and stuffed Heaven-reaching Lotus Seeds into his mouth.

In an Illusionary Realm, what mattered most was to maintain one’s sanity, and of course, the Heaven-reaching Lotus Seeds would be of great use.

Being a son of Kahdas, Bryant James must have them too, maybe even better stuff.

Carson Flores advanced step by step, unhurried and calm. After all, as long as one ascended the ladder, they’d pass the challenge; there was no time requirement, so why rush?

He hadn’t walked far when Carson Flores began to feel an invisible pressure, as if carrying hundreds of pounds of rice sacks on his back.

Carson Flores paid it no mind and continued forward.

With each step, the burden on his body intensified, but his frame was forged from steel and iron. Though the pressure grew heavier, its impact on him was negligible.

He continued with ease.

Bryant James, who set off earlier, walked ahead of him, with Heaven-reaching Lotus Seeds in his mouth too, feeling an ever-increasing pressure. Subconsciously, he turned to see how Carson Flores was holding up.

There was Carson, right behind him, moving at an easy pace with a leisurely stroll.

Bryant James was momentarily stunned, then remembered that Carson Flores practiced the Sword Bone Path, his bones as solid as any Magic Artifact, so such pressure was clearly nothing to him.

Bryant James cursed inwardly. Who turns their bones into a Magic Artifact? Are you even human at this point?

Damn monster!

The two of them continued onward, both appearing effortlessly composed.

Mist floated by, the scenery changed, and familiar figures seemed to materialize in his mind, but before these illusions could fully form or penetrate his thoughts, the cool essence of the Lotus Seeds dissipated the fantastic images.

The pressure grew stronger, sweat began forming on Bryant James’s forehead, and his steps instinctively slowed.

"Can you keep up? If you keep going this slow, I’m going to pass you and not wait, you know."

Bryant James abruptly turned back, only to see Carson Flores watching him mockingly, looking relaxed, and even had his hands tucked in his pockets!

Biting his teeth, Bryant James scoffed, " You, who refined yourself into a Magic Artifact, have nothing to be proud of."

Carson Flores laughed, "I’m capable, that’s why I can. Don’t be jealous. Why don’t you try refining one yourself?"

Bryant James sneered, "It’s but a trivial skill."

With his hands in his pockets, Carson Flores leisurely walked past Bryant James. "Right, right, you were born with an Innate Taoist Body, you’re so great. Then why don’t you walk a bit faster? Slower than a snail, have you not eaten? You call yourself son of Kahdas, a mighty eagle soaring the skies."

Veins on Bryant James’s forehead bulged, and his expression grew fierce.

As a favored son of the heavens, when had he ever been insulted thus?

Ever since he got to know Carson Flores, he had been continuously outmaneuvered. In the beginning, Carson Flores was merely at the early stage of Nascent Soul and still caused him great embarrassment. Now, as Carson’s strength had soared with possession of the Emperor Seal and becoming the Human Emperor, he had grown even more defiant and irreverent.

Bryant James had always wanted a fair and square chance to defeat Carson Flores, to outright kill or cripple him, yet he never found the opportunity.

If he made a move in secret, Carson Flores would surely have a Primordial Spirit Projection protecting him, and if identified, Flores’s master and two senior brothers would never let Bryant off the hook.

Facing the fierce Bryant James, Carson Flores remained unruffled, grinning, "I know you’ve been looking for an opportunity to teach me a lesson or kill me. Frankly, I share the sentiment; I too would like to experience the strength of your Innate Taoist Body’s Abnormal Phenomenon!"

Bryant James clenched his teeth, "You’re all talk. If you dare, let’s have it out right now!"

Carson Flores chortled, "Just teasing you. I love seeing how much you despise me without being able to do anything about it..."
