Chapter 1104: Chapter 1104: Slaughter

Everyone was stunned by the sight before them.

Given that Spiritual Energy was abundant, there was no need to walk; everyone took flight and moved forward.

"Climb on my back, I’ll fly you there."

Lilly Compton pursed her lips and neatly climbed onto Carson Flores’s back, gently wrapping her arms around his neck.

Carson Flores, carrying Lilly Compton, rose into the air, leisurely trailing behind the group.

After flying dozens of miles, a village appeared ahead. But this village had fallen into ruin, the fertile lands surrounding it completely laid to waste and overrun with various trees and weeds.

Seeing this, everyone felt a heaviness in their hearts.

There were probably no people left alive.

If there were anyone alive, the area wouldn’t have become so neglected.

On second thought, wasn’t this the expected result?

Had this White Stone Mountain Cave Heaven fallen so long ago, it would be bizarre for anything to be normal here.

The group entered the village and quickly discovered one skeleton after another.

Carson Flores swept his Divine Sense over the village and had a rough idea of what had happened.

The inhabitants of the village were all here, and judging by the position of the bodies, they seemed to have died while going about their daily tasks, perhaps completely unaware of the impending danger until death suddenly befell them.

An Immortal’s single strike?

Carson Flores’s mind suddenly flashed with four words, a silencing murder?

The group continued to fly forwards.

A massive peak soon came into view. At its base was a vast residential area that seemed large enough to house at least a million people. However, this once grand city was now dead quiet, covered in large trees and overgrown with weeds—a city of death.

The group flew low and then saw countless skeletons strewn across the entire city.

A ghastly sight.

Lilly Compton’s face turned pale as she asked softly, "Brother Chen, what on earth happened here? Why have so many people died?"

Carson Flores looked up, his gaze landing on the towering mountain, "The answer may lie at the top of that peak."

Others seemed to share Carson Flores’s train of thought; they took off flying toward the mountain.

A thousand meters up the mountain, large swathes of houses began to appear. These houses were architecturally different from those at the base, evidently the living quarters of the Cultivators of White Stone Mountain Cave Heaven.

Bodies!

Still more bodies!

Bodies lay in the houses, and on their hands were Space Rings, clearly indicating they were Cultivators. Yet their deaths were no different from those of the ordinary people below.

Everyone felt a chill in their hearts. What exactly had happened here?

In the Barbaric Wilderness Realm, White Stone Mountain Cave Heaven had long since vanished into the annals of history. No one knew exactly when it disappeared, let alone why.

Now, it seemed everyone in White Stone Mountain Cave Heaven had been killed in an instant.

"This is... the Sect’s treasure house!"

This was a magnificent five-story building, with a Barrier at its entrance that was blocked and decayed tables and chairs beside it, with a skeleton atop.

The group’s expression became even graver.

If not for an accident, this skeleton should be the Sect’s guardian of the treasure house, a position usually held by someone of high standing and strong Hollow Void Strength within the Sect, someone fair and impartial. Yet, he died here without any sign of struggle.

A Hollow Void Practitioner had died so quietly.

A natural disaster?

A man-made calamity?

In an instant, everyone was slain?

Carson Flores spoke solemnly, "There is something fishy about this place. Let’s put the treasure house aside for now, finish exploring, then consider collecting."

Although some were itching to get their hands on the treasures, no one objected. After all, the treasure house wasn’t going anywhere.

The group continued to fly upward, and soon, they sighted the massive Sect Main Hall.

A few impatient ones couldn’t wait to fly through the gates, and then horrified screams erupted from inside the hall.

"Who are you?"

"Ah!"

A middle-aged man ran out of the hall in terror, and just as he opened his mouth to speak, his body exploded violently, turning into a cloud of Blood Mist in an instant.

The sudden shock made everyone’s hairs stand on end, and they all produced their magical treasures, staring at the Sect Main Hall as though facing a formidable enemy.

Carson Flores, who followed behind the group, felt a sinking feeling in his heart. With a step, his figure instantly retreated.

At the same time, a group of pitch-black figures rushed out of the Sect Main Hall. They were like death’s minions crawling out of Hell, wielding various magical treasures and attacking the uninvited visitors.

Carson Flores focused his gaze and his expression turned serious.

Primordial Spirits!

They were all Primordial Spirits that rushed out of the Sect Main Hall, but they were different, filled with deathly aura throughout.

A Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit is an Incarnation, a second life. But these Primordial Spirits before him suddenly had no human aura, resembling instead ghostly figures left behind in the world.

Seeing them, Carson Flores was instantly reminded of the mysterious ghost soldiers beside the Demon Ancestor, chilling and cold as death.

These Primordial Spirits were very strong, nearly all of Hollow Void Strength. Once they started attacking, the Explorers suffered heavy casualties, with screams of agony filling the air.

A massacre!

The disparity in power was too great; it was a one-sided slaughter!
