Chapter 1085: Chapter 1085: You Become His Lackey Just Because He is the Human Emperor?
"I don’t know what it is, but I’m sure that beneath the Flame Glacier, there lies an extraordinary treasure."
Bentley Frost responded cleanly; there was no need to hide anything since his fate was sealed anyway. Hiding would do no good against a Soul Search, only causing unnecessary pain.
"I stumbled upon an ancient tome during a robbery once. It had descriptions of the Flame Glacier. Originally, there was neither flame nor glacier there, but it’s said that after a great battle took place there, both fire and ice formed—fire that never extinguishes and ice that never melts..."
That ancient tome also had various descriptions. It said that during the battle, two groups emanated golden light. Throughout the battle, Heavenly Fire raged and bitter cold pierced the air. Suddenly, the Heavenly Fire went out of control, raining down from the sky, and frost covered the earth, freezing it into a glacier."
"Apart from descriptions, there were various speculations. The most credible one suggested that both parties in the battle were Immortals, using either spells or magical treasures to summon the Heavenly Fire or glaciers."
Perhaps a magical treasure was damaged during the battle, causing the Heavenly Fire and bitter cold to go out of control, leading to the formation of the Flame Glacier. And because the Flame Glacier has continued to exist so long without dissipating, perhaps that broken magical treasure fell in these mountains, causing the fire that never extinguishes and the glacier that never melts."
"There must be an incredible magical treasure below, maybe a damaged one, but I have reason to believe its wielders must have been Immortals."
Kellan Gentry said sarcastically, "Many people say there’s a magical treasure beneath the Flame Glacier, but throughout history, so many have searched and yet none have found anything. You’ve studied this so long, secretive, spending half a year there—what have you gained?"
Bentley Frost’s face stiffened, then his expression turned somewhat despondent. "I groped around the Flame Glacier for half a year; I can be sure of one thing—there is indeed something down there, but I can’t pinpoint its location."
"That sounds like you said nothing at all."
Kellan Gentry sneered, "Which ordinary wildfire never extinguishes? In this climate, how can there be a glacier? If there were nothing unusual, how could such an extraordinary scene appear for thousands of years?"
Bentley Frost had nothing to say, his gaze returning to Carson Flores, deep and intense.
"I never thought I would one day be defeated by a Nascent Soul, let alone by the Human Emperor..."
Jorge Gross smiled and said, "If you had known he was the Human Emperor on that day, and if he had told you not to kill, would you have listened?"
Would I have listened?
Listened...yeah, right!
Bentley Frost thought to himself and then realized, a person’s nature dictates their actions. He was unruly, not even the king could command his respect, let alone the Human Emperor.
A Nascent Soul wanting him to kneel?
Is that likely?
His decision would inevitably be the same as before—kill him!
Killing a Human Emperor would surely make him more famous!
Thinking this way, it seemed that even if things went round and round, the outcome would not be much different.
Bentley Frost turned to look at Kellan Gentry and burst out laughing, "King Duncan, you’re a Bandit King, yet you grovel before a kid just because he bears the title of Human Emperor. What, do you also want to become a good man, support the Human Emperor, and be his faithful follower, admired by others?"
Kellan Gentry wasn’t angry but rather rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Now that you mention it, it reminds me. Though I rob and plunder, my greatest hatred is for the Demon Race, and what I desire most is to slay them. With the current great peril from the Demon Race, battling them seems inevitable. Following Carson Flores, the grand scenes of slaying demons are bound to be plentiful.
Bentley Frost’s eyes widened. "You, at the Great Perfection of Hollow Void, would become a dog for a Nascent Soul just because he’s the nominal Human Emperor?"
"Nascent Soul?"
Kellan Gentry scoffed, "Have you ever seen a Nascent Soul that wiped out twenty or thirty Divinities and two Hollow Voids with a single move, or an Initial Spirit Transformation Stage that fought head-to-head with a Great Perfection of Hollow Void and was not defeated? If not for him, our Vajra Gang would’ve been dead by your hands by now."
Bentley Frost was at a loss for words.
Yes, he indeed is a Nascent Soul, but he is no ordinary Nascent Soul.
Could someone recognized by the Emperor Seal be ordinary?
Bentley Frost closed his eyes. "I have nothing more to say."
Kellan Gentry showed no mercy. "Then goodbye!"
Kellan Gentry released a punch.
Bentley Frost, with his Primordial Spirit bound, could not resist and was scattered by that punch!
Jorge Gross picked up Bentley Frost’s Void Ring, scanned it with his Divine Sense, and smiled, "We’ve struck it rich."
Kellan Gentry looked curious, "A lot?"
Jorge Gross nodded. "Not a lot, but all of them are valuable, beyond estimation by Spirit Stones."
Kellan Gentry chuckled, "Then it wasn’t a waste of efforts at all."
Carson Flores raised the Mystical Immortal Token in his hand. "Who wants it?"
Kellan Gentry chuckled. "You keep it. I don’t want it; I am already at Great Perfection of Hollow Void and not afraid of one-on-one battles. Where else could I advance? As for becoming an Immortal, I don’t believe in it."
Jorge Gross didn’t reach out either, smiling, "Same here, I don’t want to lose my memory either. You keep it."
