Chapter 1036: Chapter 1036: These bandits are getting interesting!
"To tell you the truth, I had never seen King Duncan before, but judging by that momentum of yours, I believe it," Carson Flores said.
Carson took out the Space Ring and tossed it to Kellan Gentry, "This is the protection fee for Greown City, count it."
Kellan Gentry caught the Space Ring and passed it to a tall, thin man beside him, "Think Tank, take a look."
Think Tank?
It was said that some bandit strongholds liked to have a military advisor to help with the development and planning of their operations, but Carson hadn’t expected that these bandits who roamed and plundered everywhere had one too.
Having a Think Tank, did this mean that Vajra Bandit King Kellan Gentry was a warrior with extreme combat power but simple-minded?
The tall, thin man swept his Divine Sense over the space in the ring, paused slightly, then looked up, "The amount is correct."
Kellan Gentry laughed, "Is there enough Black Profound Stone to refine an Essence Bead?"
The tall, thin man smiled as he put away the Space Ring and replied, "Still a few hundred short, but we can make do, no big problem."
The protection fee and the Black Profound Stones weren’t in the hands of Vajra Bandit King Kellan Gentry but rather gathered in the hands of the tall, thin man.
Carson only wondered how strong this man really was, and whether he’d be easy to deal with.
Kellan Gentry turned his head to look at Carson, who was still standing there looking around curiously, "You’ve seen the man, you’ve given the stuff, aren’t you leaving?"
Carson smiled, "I was curious about the stories of your group, curious what the eight great kings who roam the Central Divine Continent look like. Now that I’ve finally met one, of course, I want to look a bit longer... Are you about to leave here?"
Zaire Schneider answered, "The mission’s complete, naturally we have to leave. We can’t stay in this broken place forever."
Carson said somewhat regretfully, "I’ve flown for half a day, just to exchange a few words, it’s too quick."
Kellan Gentry looked at him with a hint of curiosity, "You’re a strange kid, we robbed your city, don’t you hate us?"
Carson laughed, "The tribute was put together by the big households of the city, it has nothing to do with me, I haven’t lost anything."
Kellan Gentry asked strangely, "You are the City Lord, isn’t everything in the city yours? These things are like being taken from your pocket to mine..."
Carson shook his head, "I was just passing through Greown City. Killing the Green Wolf Monster was only because I couldn’t stand to see the Demon Race oppressing our Human Race. I’m not interested in being the City Lord, and even though I’m sitting in the City Lord’s position now, I haven’t looted anything nor intended to take anything from them."
Kellan Gentry’s eyes lit up, "Do you hate the Demon Race too?"
Carson frankly replied, "I have no prejudice against ordinary demons who abide by the rules, I can’t say I like them, nor can I say I hate them. But those that eat and harm people, I kill every one I see."
Kellan Gentry laughed heartily, "You’re still too kind. In my opinion, all demons in the world can be killed, there’s not one that doesn’t eat people. As long as we kill them all, naturally there will be no demons left to harm our Human Race."
Carson spread his hands, "Although that’s what you say, for tens of thousands of years, the Human Race and the Demon Race have been fighting back and forth, and no one has seen who has exterminated whom."
Kellan Gentry rubbed his bald head, "You’re an interesting kid, which Sect’s disciple are you?"
Carson fibbed on the spot, "Immortal Beast Sect of Mount Dongyue, but I didn’t stay in the Sect for many years, had a bit of a disagreement, and then I’ve been wandering outside for many years."
The tall, thin man asked, "Beast Taming?"
Carson lifted his cloak, revealing the two Beast Taming Bags underneath, "If not for them, I couldn’t have beaten the Green Wolf Monster..."
Kellan Gentry laughed loudly, "Haha, you, at the Nascent Soul Stage, actually dared to go against a demon of the True Form Realm. You’ve got guts, kid, Think Tank, aside from the Black Profound Stones, refund him the rest... How about it?"
The tall, thin man showed a slightly helpless look, took out the Space Ring, took out the three hundred Black Profound Stones, then tossed the ring back to Carson.
Zaire Schneider laughed out loud, "I knew it, Boss, you’re giving him a big discount!"
Carson caught the ring, looking surprised, a genuine reaction as he truly wasn’t expecting it.
This was the Bandit King, after all, who was unexpectedly... generous?
"How could I accept this?"
Carson asked curiously, "You’ve refunded it to me, but what about your many brothers..."
Kellan Gentry waved his hand genially, "Not every City Lord has the guts to kill demons above their level, nor does every City Lord who hears the name of the Bandit King dare to come meet me. You may not be very strong, kid, but you’ve got courage. I like that about you, let’s just call it making a new friend."
"As bandits, when we strike it rich, we feast and celebrate, when we don’t, we just tighten our belts and get by. You get used to it."
Carson truly found this group of bandits to be interesting. They didn’t match the image he had of heartless killers who plundered lands, scouring every inch of ground.
Carson asked, "Where are you heading now, to continue robbing?"
Kellan Gentry laughed, "If bandits don’t rob, then what are they to do? I’ve heard that many cities to the southeast have fallen into the hands of the Demon Race. That’s something I can’t tolerate. I need to go give them a good beating and rake in a hefty fortune!"
Carson’s eyes shone, "I’m also very interested, can you let me join?"
