Chapter 550: Chapter 554 My Grandson is the Villain (Part 1)
But what set her apart from Tao Yao was that when Tao Yao’s consciousness scattered, it really was as dead as it gets.
Of course, that was under the presupposition that Su Li didn’t step in.
Staring at the fragmented pieces of consciousness she had collected in her hand, Su Li was dumbfounded.
She hadn’t expected the young girl would choose to do this.
There were little bugs before, and Tao Yao after... one by one like this, Su Li’s heart was a disheveled mess.
Su Li let out a heavy sigh and placed the fragments of Tao Yao’s consciousness next to the little bug, perhaps when her power was a bit stronger, they could return to their former states.

"I’m telling you, if anything happens to mom this time, I’ll never forgive you."
"I didn’t want this either, but that’s after all my maternal home. Can I really watch my parents starve to death?"
Having regained consciousness, Su Li’s ears were constantly filled with an annoying buzzing sound, leaving her unable to find peace.
Without even opening her eyes, she burst out with a fierce shout, "Get out!"
Perhaps accustomed to the person in front’s severity, the two constantly annoying noise-makers didn’t show any resistance; they didn’t dare say half a word in rebuttal and scampered away frantically.
"Mom, you’ve woken up, then, then you rest first..."
"Yes, mom, you get a good rest."
Neither of the two inquired about the physical condition of the person lying on the bed. Their voices, filled with guilt and fear, instantly vanished without a trace.
Listening to the pair calling out a name she recognized as her own, and the voice that just came from her throat, along with a feeling of discomfort and decline all over her body, Su Li hadn’t opened her eyes yet but had a bad hunch.
Good, really good, what a cunning old lady.
In Chaotic Space, Su Li encountered a young woman of marriageable age who, despite her plain attire, had a rather attractive appearance.
The only hope of this Merit Master was that her entire family would be well.
No, her real intentions weren’t actually like that; she had many thoughts, many wishes.
But now, after Su Li had regained a vast amount of Merit and faith, and had significantly increased in power, she developed an aura that, without even her noticing it, made it tough for others to face her calmly.
Having changed back into a human figure, Su Li raised an eyebrow in surprise at the Merit Master’s insatiable behavior.
However, before she could voice any objections, the prudently observant Merit Master changed her mind.
This left Su Li quite satisfied.
Just that she hadn’t expected that while this person spoke nicely on the surface, she had still dug a hole for Su Li to jump into.
Su Li was on the verge of laughing in frustration.
To think she had gone through the trouble of altering the image she presented before her, only to find that when she descended, the body used by the Merit Master was already worn out.
Struggling to lift her arm, the oppressive heaviness of the dying old body made Su Li feel uncomfortable.
After experiencing the freedom of a consciousness life, it was as if her vast Soul Body was now unceremoniously crammed into a heavy, sealed, and airless little box.
Clearly, the cunning old lady must have known that this unknown entity would be angry and, therefore, didn’t dare to make any excessive demands.
She only wanted the whole family to live together in peace and harmony.
In truth, this request, seeming simple, was all the more difficult to achieve because of its simplicity.
For instance, what level of harmony counts as harmonious enough?
As humans, conflicts will arise; to make the whole family harmonious, does one need to satisfy the desires of all descendants?
An elder in the house is a treasure indeed.
The little wisdoms the original owner, this old lady, had planned for her descendants were indeed touching.
But when it came to her own body, it was no longer so wonderful.
The old lady had also misjudged the cunning of Demon King Su, as revealed by the displeasure in Su Li’s eyes beneath her drooping eyelids upon opening them.
After absorbing the body’s memories quickly, Su Li moved her cumbersome body with difficulty and walked to the plastic round mirror on the wooden cabinet.
Despite being mentally prepared, upon seeing the chicken-skin, crane-haired face in the mirror, Su Li’s anger surged to the ultimate breaking point.
Ugly, so incredibly ugly... the face bore deep marks of the hardships and sufferings life had etched upon it.
It looked decades older than her actual age, like a woman in her late seventies or eighties.
Even if it was just a shell, with Su Li’s increasingly strict aesthetics, she absolutely wouldn’t go out with such a bark-like old face.
For the moment, though, there was no alternative; feeling the Spiritual Energy and rules of this small world, she couldn’t make significant changes straightaway.
This was precisely why Su Li felt so enraged.
Not to mention, the original owner, this old lady, had a big family of quite troublesome descendants.
Though the original owner’s body appeared to be that of someone in her late seventies or eighties, she was in fact only fifty-four years old.
The original owner had married early, and by her age, the eldest grandson was already fifteen.
The original owner had three sons; the eldest and the second had each fathered two sons and one daughter, while the youngest son had run away at a young age, declaring he was off to make his fortune in the arena, never to return. After three years without any word, a plain-looking woman dropped a male infant only a few months old at the doorstep, leaving behind a note saying that the baby was the young son’s offspring, then she vanished.
Eight months old, the child indeed bore a striking resemblance to the son when he was young, so much so that the mother, the original owner, didn’t need science to believe the woman’s claim.
An extra mouth to feed, naturally, was met with displeasure by the rest of the family.
But this was the youngest son, the eldest grandson, the old lady’s dearest.
The youngest son truly was the favorite of the original owner, and now with no news of him, the grandson who bore his bloodline was not particularly liked by her, yet, out of soft-heartedness, she kept him.
This, of course, bred significant resentment in the rest of the family. Despite the long-accumulated authority of the original owner preventing open objections, deep down, none of them truly accepted this suddenly appearing child.
Occupied with the livelihood of the whole family, the original owner could not spare the energy to care for a small child, satisfied as long as he had food and shelter, she let him be.
The family had not split, all crammed into a small separate yard. With the grandsons and granddaughters grown up, it wasn’t feasible to keep squeezing into the same room with their parents. Hence, just recently, using her privately saved money from over the years, the original owner built two new tiled brick houses.
The larger one was for the five grandsons to live together, the smaller for the two granddaughters.
This, at last, managed to solve one immediate major issue, but then another, even bigger problem arose.
The whole family faced the dire situation of having no food to cook.
In reality, their situation shouldn’t have been so dire, but with two women in the house as greedy as rats, no amount of wealth could be saved.
