Chapter 427: Chapter 431 Survival on a Deserted Island (11)

Liu Piaopiao woke up and quickly felt her body, relieved to find herself intact.

She hadn’t been bitten in half by the Poison Snake; how happy she was.

As soon as she opened her eyes, her vision was immediately covered in blood.

A huge, piercing scream erupted from Liu Piaopiao’s mouth, startling birds and insects.

Su Li, covering his ears and frowning, wondered how such a small body could produce such a loud scream.

Yue Bai, who had been cautiously standing by, also frowned when Su Li’s eyebrows slightly knitted together.

He turned his head and his long leg fiercely kicked toward the still ongoing source of noise pollution.

Sitting unguarded on the ground, Liu Piaopiao was kicked, flipping three hundred sixty degrees.

"Stop your screaming, relax, you’re not dead."

Hearing the familiar voice and seeing that despised face again, she remembered the fear and despair she faced when near death.

Fury rose in her heart.

Ignoring the painful bruise on her waist from the kick, Liu Piaopiao scrambled up and lunged at Yue Bai, teeth bared and claws out.

She scratched and bit, even pulling hair.

All the fighting skills of women tearing at each other were fully employed.

Su Li, in disgust, turned to leave but reluctant to give up the spoils of the earlier fight, he stepped back, staying far from the two.

Having been too close earlier, the stench stuck in his nostrils seemed enduring, nauseating enough to make him faint on the spot.

"Crazy woman, what are you doing... get off, stop pulling my hair... ah ah ah, I’m going to kill you, my face..."

Actually, standing far away, covering his mouth and nose and not smelling the stench while watching these two tear into each other was quite amusing.

Then, suddenly, everything changed.

"Ah..."

Su Li didn’t even see properly how it happened when he saw Yue Bai holding his foot, screaming incessantly.

Not far away, a huge snake head was opening and closing, and Yue Bai’s right foot was already blood-soaked.

Liu Piaopiao, also startled by the sudden turn of events, wiped the blood off her face and spitefully spat a mixture of blood and saliva onto the ground.

"It’s karma... using me to shield yourself from the snake, spit on that."

It turned out while Yue Bai and Liu Piaopiao were entangled, they rolled near the snake head unnoticed.

Liu Piaopiao’s reckless attacks, keeping Yue Bai too busy to notice, had brought him within a palm’s distance of the snake head.

Everyone had thought the snake was completely dead, yet it bit again.

Yue Bai’s foot was viciously bitten, and in a sharp survival instinct, he pulled his foot from the snake’s mouth, but the situation looked dire.

In just a few seconds, starting from the wound on his right foot, his skin quickly turned ashen and then began to spread to other areas.

The spread was fast, and in no time, his entire right foot was swollen and black.

Yue Bai was both in pain and scared, his screams unceasing.

No one knew what species the giant Poison Snake was, but the toxin’s fierceness was startling to behold.

According to Su Li, to save his own life at that moment, he would need to amputate that right foot, lest the toxin erode his entire body.

But considering their current circumstances, without serum, painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, or a cutting tool, Yue Bai was doomed either way.

Either dead from pain or from the poison.

In fact, Su Li wasn’t entirely out of options to save Yue Bai’s life; he simply needed to use his Spiritual Power to force the poisonous blood out of Yue Bai’s body, without any aftereffects.

But why should she help him?

Liu Piaopiao was also thrown into panicky confusion by Yue Bai’s screams of agony. She hid her schadenfreude, moved to the side, and hung her head low, apparently lost in thought.

Su Li, who stood with her arms crossed, suddenly twitched her ears.

She heard it—the sound of water rippling not far off on the coast.

Someone was coming ashore, and not just one person.

Their footsteps were light and orderly, like those of a trained army, no, perhaps more accurately described as mercenaries.

They were rushing towards her.

Su Li’s gaze deepened—there seemed to be more to this little island.

Perhaps her senses hadn’t been wrong just a short while ago.

"Yo, look what I’ve found, two pretty little girls..."

The sarcastic tone had barely settled when the man who spoke kicked something that landed in front of Liu Piaopiao.

Liu Piaopiao stared blankly at the pitch-black object and screamed uncontrollably once more.

However, her scream was abruptly silenced mid-breath.

"Keep screaming, and you’re going to die."

It was the same man speaking; he toyed with a small and exquisitely sharp knife, its blade still dripping with fresh blood.

Yue Bai had reached his limit of endurance; by the time the man acted, he had already passed out on the ground.

His right foot had been severed, yet strangely, it bled very little.

After chopping off his foot, the man beckoned with his finger, and quickly another person sprinkled medicine powder on the amputated stump of Yue Bai’s foot.

Simultaneously, they pried open Yue Bai’s mouth and fed him some medicine pills.

This group had a total of ten people. They were fully equipped with firearms and ammunition, exuding a fierce and bloodthirsty demeanor, the sort that immediately identified them as desperate men with blood on their hands.

Liu Piaopiao covered her mouth, trembling with fear yet unable to keep her eyes off the man who had just spoken.

The man who chopped off Yue Bai’s foot seemed to be the leader of these mercenaries.

Especially with his handsome, Apollo-like appearance, it was hard to take one’s eyes off his face.

Even the scar that slanted from his ear to his chin did nothing but add a rugged edge to his aura.

The Scarred Man had initially kept his gaze on Liu Piaopiao for a few seconds before focusing entirely on Su Li.

This made Liu Piaopiao jealous and resentful, distorting her features with hate.

She observed the ugly woman who did nothing but scream—utterly lacking in courage.

The only man looked like a fool.

And the other woman, who remained calm throughout, seemed to stand out effortlessly.

"You killed this snake." This was not a question but a certainty.

The Scarred Man seemed sure it was Su Li who had killed the large Poison Snake.

Though it was true, most people would at least have a moment of doubt.

But it was mainly because Su Li’s appearance was so deceiving—a pampered lady, delicate and refined.

Her dark red nails hardly suited someone capable of such an act, remaining calm was already a display of courage.

But the Scarred Man was convinced of Su Li’s capabilities, and his teammates showed no doubt on their faces.

"It was me."

"Not bad," the Scarred Man commended her, then stabbed the snake’s head once more with his knife.
