Chapter 625: King of the Dark Night

Chapter 625: Chapter 625: King of the Dark Night

Local time nine at night, the Yan Emperor’s private jet arrived at the international airport.

The night was becoming denser, and Shang Yu entered Li Qiao’s suite with a body full of coldness.

The wind tonight was slightly cool, and as the door opened, a floor-length cape fluttered against his straight legs.

This was the first time Li Qiao saw Shang Yu in clothes other than a suit.

To be precise, it was a rare ink-colored cape over a pure black, perfectly tailored suit, lending him the air of the King of the Dark Night.

Handsome, and towering above all else.

The suite was lit with warm orange light, and Li Qiao leaned against the table, a trace of admiration flowing through her eyes.

She wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but Shang Yu, who had appeared in Aida State, seemed to carry an even colder and more ascetic aura than usual.

Li Qiao thought that it might be because he had his collar buttoned up all the way.

Luoyu and Liuyun had already silently retreated outside the door.

Shang Yu walked over, casually unbuttoning his cape and tossing it onto the sofa.

He approached Li Qiao, cupped her face with one hand, and planted a deep kiss on her.

After the kiss, he pecked the corner of her lips, "Been waiting long?"

Li Qiao pursed her lips and scrutinized him, "You finished with the South Sea business?"

"Hmm, more or less," Shang Yu pulled her towards the sofa, but Li Qiao tugged at him, nodding towards the table.

He paused, glancing at her with a questioning gaze.

On that table lay a rectangular wooden box, with a dark green toolbox beside it.

Li Qiao pulled out a chair, patted the wooden box, her eyes shining, "Qianmu’s new product, an intelligent prosthetic."

Shang Yu’s handsome face showed no change, but his lips curled into a smile, "Where did you get this?"

"Got someone to help me snag one."

Li Qiao spoke with ease, even though the new product demonstration was also a form of product launch.

Qianmu’s latest intelligent prosthetic was still in a confidential phase.

Yet, Li Qiao managed to get hold of it effortlessly.

The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and his deep eyes overflowed with warmth, "You know people here too?"

She didn’t directly mention Shen Qingye, so there was someone else.

Li Qiao tilted her delicate chin up, silent for two seconds, considering how to respond to him.

Shang Yu seemed to detect her hesitation, reaching out to ruffle the top of her head, "Aida State is not like South Sea, be careful in everything you do here."

Oh, he thought she didn’t want to tell?

Li Qiao pulled down his wrist, touching his warm fingertips, "My senior brother is here."

Shang Yu leaned against the table corner, a brow quirked waiting for her to continue.

Li Qiao organized her thoughts and explained succinctly, "He was the teacher who taught me combat techniques. He’s also one of the disciples. Later, he had a falling out with the teacher and came to develop in Aida State."

The man nodded thoughtfully, his eyes profound; when he first saw the video of Li Qiao saving Luoyu, he could tell that her combat techniques weren’t common in the country but belonged to a unique lineage of the border region.

Back then she had said Li San taught her, but now it seems this young lady’s background in the border region was deeper than what he had uncovered.

Shang Yu’s gaze rested on Li Qiao’s face, squeezing her jaw gently, "Even if it’s one of our own, you still need to be very careful."

"I know." Li Qiao nodded obediently and then continued, "The feature of the intelligent prosthetic is that it can be controlled by connecting to brain nerves. I did some research last night, and the most important thing inside it is the neural morphology chip."

Last night she had researched the device half the night; its bionic structure was indeed ingenious.

But the truly revolutionary part was this neural chip.

Moments later, Li Qiao opened the wooden box, where a brand-new metal bionic arm was prominently displayed.

Shang Yu’s expression remained gentle as he watched Li Qiao take the toolbox, his fingertips lightly brushing her side face, "What are you planning to do?"

Li Qiao lifted her eyelids slightly and could easily read indulgence from his deep eyes.

She smiled, opened the toolbox, and slowly started taking out various disassembly tools, "Dismantling such a delicate bionic arm should be quite interesting."

Upon hearing this, Shang Yu naturally took off his suit jacket, unbuttoned two more collar buttons, pulled over a chair to sit, and circled Li Qiao’s waist, looking up at her, "Do you like taking things apart so much?"

Li Qiao leaned sideways against the man’s shoulder, her knuckles tapping the prosthetic, "Isn’t the point the neural chip?"

Playing with the tool in her hand, she added offhandedly, "Extracting the core technology of the intelligent prosthetic to take a look might lead to unexpected discoveries."

Shang Yu squinted at Li Qiao’s cunning expression, pulling her closer into his arms, "Such as?"

"Such as, I suspect the core technology isn’t actually in Qianmu Group’s hands," Li Qiao said, gazing playfully at the man as their eyes met, "but in... Charlman’s hands."

The Qianmu Group’s presentation this time might very well have been making a wedding dress for someone else.
