Chapter 477: Chapter 477: Is It So Hard to Admit You Like Someone?

Eastern Suburb Sports Ground.

Li Qiao and Shang Yu arrived at the Bowling Private Room, and upon entering, they saw Qiu Huan sitting on a chair, gasping for breath, with a bruised face.

Beside him stood seven or eight bodyguards, all of whom appeared to have sustained various degrees of injuries.

Li Qiao’s eyebrows raised slightly as her gaze swept the room, continuing to search for Li San.

Although she was not quite clear on the reason for the altercation, one thing was beyond doubt—

Qiu Huan and all the bodyguards here were no match for her brother Li San.

On the other side, at the outermost bowling lane, Li San was standing with his back to the door, pinching a cigarette between his fingers and taking deep drags.

Next to him stood an enchanting figure in fiery red, with hands in pockets and face upturned, seemingly engaged in conversation with Li San.

Nan Xin was also here?

Li Qiao’s eyes flickered, and she walked over.

Meanwhile, Shang Yu walked towards the resting area where Qiu Huan was.

At this moment, as Li Qiao approached, Nan Xin’s light, laughing voice drifted over, "Boss, you’re really something, you burst in and started the fight, and if I don’t help him, should I just watch you beat him to death?"

Li Qiao halted, the corners of her mouth curving upwards.

Li San took a drag from his cigarette, turned his head, and blew smoke in Nan Xin’s face with a cold laugh, "What, you can’t bear to see me hit him?"

Nan Xin waved away the surrounding smoke with her hand, giving him a sidelong glance and a hollow smile, "Yeah, let’s just say I can’t bear it."

She didn’t feel like arguing with Li San; it was completely pointless.

He didn’t understand a woman’s heart, and she similarly felt his heart was as cold as iron.

Li San casually dropped his cigarette butt, gave her a cold glance, and turned to leave.

Nan Xin stood there with pursed lips, stubbornly silent.

"Finished arguing?"

Just then, a serene and indifferent voice came from behind, Nan Xin turned sharply around, and saw that Li Qiao, unbeknownst to her, had dragged a chair over and was sitting three steps away with her leg propped up, leisurely looking at them.

Nan Xin was stunned for a second, then her smile blossomed, and she moved in front of Li Qiao, bending over with a grin, "Baby, what brings you here?"

Li Qiao glanced at Li San, whose face was as still as water, and teased with raised brows, "Afraid my brother would fly off the handle and beat Qiu Huan to death."

Nan Xin did not catch the significance of the words ’fly off the handle,’ and awkwardly muttered with a twisted mouth, "It’s all a misunderstanding..."

This had all started half an hour ago.

Nan Xin was initially playing bowling alone in the private room when she unexpectedly ran into Qiu Huan.

Although they were not familiar, they had met on a plane back when Qiaoqiao went to the border to pick up Li San.

Seeing her bowl well, Qiu Huan suggested they play a few rounds together.

However, when Li San arrived at the bowling alley, entering the door, he saw Qiu Huan and Nan Xin standing close together, not sure if they were talking or kissing.

Li San, overcome with rage, started the fight immediately.

Qiu Huan was also stunned by his punch.

He was only helping Nan Xin correct her bowling posture and unexpectedly received a punch, a grievance no one could bear.

Consequently, the two got into a scuffle. Qiu Huan, not being foolish, knew he couldn’t win and called his bodyguards to join the fray, eight against one.

In the end, all eight were injured while Li San walked away unscathed.

If it hadn’t been for Nan Xin taking Qiu Huan’s side, he and the seven bodyguards would have been floored a long time ago.

Nan Xin was not intentionally opposing Li San; she was only worried he would go too far and actually kill someone, which would lead to endless trouble later.

But clearly, Li San did not understand her well-intentioned efforts.

...

Ten minutes later, outside the private bowling room, the scene of twilight was beautiful, but Li San’s complexion showed no signs of improvement.

Li Qiao walked beside him with her hands in her pockets and lifted her eyelids to glance at him, "What exactly is going on between you and Nan Xin?"

At the mention of Nan Xin, Li San’s eyebrows furrowed and he replied in a blunt tone, "Nothing."

Li Qiao stopped walking and, looking at his irritated expression, in a low voice, she probed, "Do you like her?"

"I like her?" Li San raised his voice in disbelief as if he had heard some ridiculous joke.

Li Qiao nodded slightly, "Mm-hmm."

Li San wanted to argue but the words seemed to be stuck in his throat, and he could not speak them.

Li Qiao raised her eyebrows and spoke leisurely, "Nan Xin is very popular, if you don’t act fast, be careful she might slip away."

The afterglow of the sunset fell, and Li San’s silent gaze settled on a distant mountaintop. After a long while, he licked his cheek and said, "I’m leaving."

Li Qiao stood there watching his retreating figure, a clear arc forming at the corner of her lips.

True affection is an awkwardness that cannot be hidden.

Even the formidable boss of the border underworld had become so obtuse. Was it really that hard to admit he liked Nan Xin?

...

Li Qiao returned to the Bowling Private Room, where Qiu Huan had injured his cheekbone, and the medical staff at the venue were applying medication to him.

Shang Yu sat with his legs crossed opposite him, his arm resting on the edge of the table, his posture as elegant and distinguished as ever.

As for Nan Xin, she stood in front of Qiu Huan, apologizing in a low voice, "Master Qiu, I’m really sorry for causing you to be injured."

Qiu Huan lifted his eyelids, scanned her up and down with a half-smiling tone that carried obvious displeasure, "Today, I have really seen what a ’disaster for beauty’ means."

Nan Xin tugged at her lips, her face somewhat unable to maintain composure, "Sorry, our boss he..."

"Enough, you don’t need to explain for him. I’m not interested in your and his problems. From now on... stay away from me, so that you don’t harm the innocent."

Qiu Huan truly felt annoyed; even a simple game of bowling could get him beaten up.

Moreover, he didn’t fancy Nan Xin in the slightest; only Li San, that mad dog, would like a woman with her sultry demeanor.

Nan Xin cast a disdainful look at Qiu Huan’s proud posture. If it hadn’t been for the wrong setting, she would have liked to hit him, too.

As the atmosphere became increasingly tense, a series of light footsteps approached from afar.

Nan Xin turned around to see Li Qiao, who had returned. She looked behind her but did not see Li San, "Where’s the boss?"

Li Qiao casually tossed out two words, "Gone."

Nan Xin immediately frowned and, without further delay, said a few more words of apology to Qiu Huan before quickly leaving.

Li Qiao took a seat and took a sip of mineral water handed to her by a man, "Master Qiu, today’s incident was my Third Brother’s fault."

Qiu Huan touched the gauze on his cheekbone, dismissed the medical staff, and chuckled, "Sister, are you apologizing for him because you fear I’ll retaliate against your Third Brother and become his enemy?"

"No," Li Qiao looked at him and coolly said, "You’re no match for my Third Brother, and being his enemy would do you no good. But it’s wrong for him to hit people. If Master Qiu wants compensation, you can tell me."

Qiu Huan: "..."

Even though this was the truth, did she have to put it so bluntly?

Qiu Huan involuntarily turned to look at Shang Yu, who was smiling maliciously, "Shaoyan, I’m asking the lady here for compensation. You don’t mind, do you?"

The man slowly turned his head, his deep eyes tranquil as water, his voice carrying a faint coldness, "You have the nerve to ask?"
