Chapter 361: Chapter 361: Mercenary Group’s Yun Lih, Meeting the Association Leader

The man looked down at her dodging gaze, reached out to pinch her cheek, and teased with a low voice, "Do you really think I’m depraved?"

Even if he found her irresistible, it was not to the point of revelry every night.

Moreover, being inexperienced, she deserved a few days of rest.

At that remark, Li Qiao lifted her eyelids, swatted his hand away, and muttered softly, "You do have some self-awareness."

"Hmm?" Shang Yu leaned forward, squinting his eyes, asking with a near-laugh.

Li Qiao cleared her throat, pushed his shoulder lightly, and changed the subject, "I have a question for you."

The man took her by the hand and led her to the lounge chair by the window to sit down, his eyebrows slightly raised as if waiting for her to speak.

Li Qiao casually wrapped her arms around a cushion, then took out her mobile phone and opened the ICC system, turning the screen towards Shang Yu with a smile as she made a tentative guess, "I suppose your phone has this system."

The man didn’t speak, but looked at Li Qiao profoundly, taking the phone from her hand.

He entered the personal center, made a few simple operations, and with a curved lip said, "Why have you been using Yun Ling’s account all this time?"

Li Qiao eyed the screen suspiciously and explained faintly, "It’s convenient."

Shang Yu glanced up at her, tapped the screen a few more times, then handed the phone back to her, "Take another look."

Li Qiao, puzzled, looked at the ICC system’s personal account to find the name had changed to a golden one, a flash of astonishment quickly sweeping across her eyes.

The golden name: Association Leader.

Security level: SSS.

Li Qiao stared at the screen, her expression becoming indescribably complex.

He really was the association leader of the International Club.

"This account has the highest authority within the association, from now on, whatever you wish to investigate, you may do so directly."

Li Qiao pursed her lips, looked at Shang Yu, and after a moment, her thumb rubbed the screen as she laughed wryly, "No wonder you were so familiar with Yun Ling’s assassination attempt, turns out it’s the honored association leader."

After saying so, Li Qiao looked at him and jokingly cupped one hand in the other before her in salute, "My apologies, my apologies..."

No sooner had the sound of her voice faded than a series of urgent footsteps echoed from outside the guest room corridor.

Li Qiao knit her brows, looked towards the door, then glanced at her mobile phone and suddenly frowned, "Didn’t you turn off the location tracking?"

Her phone still had the location feature active, and Shang Yu had just used her phone to login into the association leader’s account.

The man leaned back nonchalantly, supporting his temple with one hand, feigning distress as he nodded, "Indeed..." The location wasn’t off.

Before he could finish his sentence, the guest room door was kicked open.

Yun Lih, gasping for breath, propped the door open with the tip of his foot, one hand holding a phone, hurriedly glanced at the location icon in the system, then raised his head to scan the guest room.

The association leader, was right here!

Yun Lih, without uttering a word, strode forward with his phone in hand.

He walked while watching closely, fearful that the location icon of the association leader would disappear again.

Seconds later, he stood at the table, tossed his phone onto it, swept Shang Yu a cool glance, then his gaze froze on the screen in Li Qiao’s hand.

The golden association leader account.

Yun Lih stood with one hand on his hip, his expression terribly hard to read. After a long while, he looked at Li Qiao feeling somewhat alienated and even had the urge to kneel.

This kid is the association leader?

He couldn’t believe it!

Yun Lih had his wits about him. Although seeing is believing, many things just don’t stand up to scrutiny.

He snatched Li Qiao’s phone, stared at the account intently for a while, and his breathing grew more rapid.

Li Qiao lowered her head, holding her forehead, lifted her eyelids to look at Shang Yu across from her, and silently sighed.

This damned coincidence.

Yun Lih stood dumbfounded for half a minute, and just as Li Qiao was about to open her mouth to explain, he suddenly swayed, bowed and nodded to Shang Yu, "Mercenary Group’s Yun Lih, at the service of the association leader."

Li Qiao: "..."

At this moment, Shang Yu looked at Yun Lih with indifferent eyes and brows, his arm lazily lifted, gesturing slightly, "Not afraid of recognizing the wrong person?"

Yun Lih hurriedly looked up, then covered his eyes again, "I won’t mistake her, I know what she’s like."

Li Qiao pursed her lips, no longer wanting to talk to him.

If before Yun Lih had treated Shang Yu like a love rival, then at this moment anyone could see his awe and respect for Shang Yu.

It was an attitude that had changed in an instant upon a certain discovery.

The leader of the International Club, even if unseen and unknown, still commanded respect from the leaders of the Eight Major Groups.

Shang Yu sighed deeply and gestured to the chair beside him, "Sit down to talk."

Yun Lih hesitated somewhat, but quickly pulled out a chair to sit, his demeanor proper and respectful, devoid of his usual carefree arrogance.

After a brief silence, Shang Yu took out a cigarette case from his pocket and casually tossed it to Yun Lih, "Did you find the information on the Mercenary Group?"

Yun Lih clenched his fists on his knees, nodding solemnly, "It’s been found, thanks to the association leader’s prior arrangements."

Despite saying so, Yun Lih had already started cursing inwardly.

The man who had stolen his heart’s desire was, in fact, his immediate superior.

The target of the Mercenary Group’s assassination was the leader of the International Club.

What a shitty and melodramatic life!

Shang Yu methodically lit his cigarette and glanced at Yun Lih, who was visibly restrained, softening his brows slightly, "The funds to rebuild the Mercenary Group’s office will be in the account within a week."

Yun Lih looked at him sidelong, verbally expressing his gratitude respectfully, but internally he was grumbling.

To blow up his own building and then personally fund its reconstruction, damn, that’s some game he’s playing.

Before long, Yun Lih stood up to take his leave.

Even though he didn’t show it on his face, the fact that Shang Shaoyan was the association leader was simply too suffocating.

He urgently needed somewhere to digest this information.

Yun Lih picked up his phone from the table and turned to leave, taking only a couple of steps before a reminder floated from behind him, "Remember to keep it a secret."

"The association leader can rest assured." Yun Lih stopped and turned back, stealing a glance at Li Qiao, wiped his face, and strode away with large steps.

That night, Yun Lih left Paibo Manor under the cover of darkness.

The luxury car sped through the quiet streets of Parma, heading desperately towards the outskirts of the city.

Discovering the identity of the association leader should have been a cause for celebration.

But as Yun Lih drove, his hands tightly gripping the steering wheel, he couldn’t feel any joy whatsoever.

Damn, how annoying!

...

The next day, at nine in the morning, a group set out on their return journey.

As the Yan Emperor’s Special Plane soared rapidly, Li Qiao watched the shrinking city landscape outside the porthole and withdrew her gaze with a faint expression.

Perhaps she would return sooner or later; she only hoped that by then, Shang Zonghai would have translated the entire content of "The Autobiography of the Stock God."

Li Qiao was true to her word; she truly hadn’t read the contents of the brocade box.

Everything would have to wait until she returned to South Sea to unravel the mystery.

Three and a half hours later, at 8:30 in the morning, South Sea time, the plane landed at South Sea International Airport.

The Rolls Motorcade had been waiting on the tarmac for quite some time.

After getting in the car, Shang Yu instructed to head straight back to South Sea Mansion, and Li Qiao, sitting beside him, hesitated for a moment before saying, "Please take me to Yan Emperor Private Hospital first."

The man turned to look at her, his thick brows wrinkling slightly, "Feeling unwell?"

"No." Li Qiao watched the familiar streets outside the window and smiled faintly, "I’m going to see Li San; you go back first."
