Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Nothing is More Important Than You
In the living room, several people watched Li Qiao and Tang Yiting until they disappeared at the stairwell. Shen Qingye immediately pursed his lips and asked, "Brother Lih, is she your girlfriend?"
Yun Lih, seated with crossed legs in the armchair, gave a cold glance, "Quit talking bullshit!"
Shen Qingye blinked, "Oh, got it."
It was unclear what he understood, but Yun Lih was too lazy to ask for clarification. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Shang Yu, "What exactly happened tonight? The girl who was kidnapped, do you know her?"
"Yeah." Shang Yu sat with his legs crossed, looking down at his dust-covered trousers, his brows slightly furrowed.
Shen Qingye then gestured to Bai Luhui standing beside him, "You tell us about the Sixth Bureau’s news."
Yun Lih suddenly turned his head, his foot tapped lightly, and he asked with interest, "Sixth Bureau?"
...
Upstairs, in the bedroom.
Li Qiao pulled Tang Yiting to the bathroom door and said, "Have a shower first, I’ll go get you some clothes."
Tang Yiting hesitated, glanced into the bathroom, and stopped short of speaking.
Seeing this, Li Qiao pushed on her lower back, jokingly, "Go on, it’s safe."
Forced to move forward, Tang Yiting took a couple of steps, then turned to glance back at Li Qiao, sheepishly smiling, "You’re not leaving, are you?"
"I’m not leaving, I’ll wait here for you."
With that said, Tang Yiting took hold of the bathroom door and walked in.
Post-kidnapping syndrome, spooked at every turn.
Before long, the sound of water rushed from the bathroom. Li Qiao took out a few clothes from the wardrobe and glanced at the empty nightstand, then stood up and walked out of the bedroom.
She planned to get some food for Tang Yiting from the kitchen, not knowing how she had endured the time she was kidnapped.
Just as Li Qiao reached the door and was about to close it, her waist tightened as she was pulled back two steps, her back slamming into a man’s broad and solid chest.
She looked down at the palm that was gripping her abdomen and turned back with a smile in her eyes, "How come you’re up here?"
In the clean and bright hallway, the warm light from above filtered into Shang Yu’s eyes, casting a deep and chilly glow.
He still carried a faint scent of dust, and his black shirt was no longer pristine, with fine grains of sand stuck to his shoulder.
Li Qiao turned in his embrace, raised her fingers to brush the dust off him, and as she looked up, the man moved forward two steps, pinning her against the wall, "Why did you act alone tonight?"
Shang Yu’s voice was very hoarse as his forearm tightened around her waist.
Li Qiao leaned against the wall, feeling the man’s oppressive form, took a small breath, wrapped her hands around his shoulders, and explained with a smile, "The family dinner at the old house is very important. Such a small matter, I didn’t want to disturb you."
"Li Qiao, nothing is more important than you." Shang Yu’s fingers grasped her delicate jaw, his gaze roaming over her face and unexpectedly, he noticed a purple bruise at the corner of her mouth.
The man’s gaze froze, his thumb gently stroked the bruise, shadows deepening in his eyes. After a few seconds of silence and with a voice low and hoarse, he asked, "Did I do this?"
Li Qiao clasped his finger, licked her lips and shook her head, "Not you, Wen Shi hit me."
As soon as she finished speaking, her vision darkened as Shang Yu’s cool lips pressed against the corner of her mouth.
He wasn’t forceful, nor was he overbearing—he just gently licked at her injury, and his movements were tender and filled with care.
Li Qiao swallowed, holding her breath.
Unlike every other time, it was not deep, but it was even more heart-stirring.
The broken hairs below the man’s eyebrows brushed lightly across her vision, as if teasing and seducing her with their intimacy...
