Chapter 336: You’re so useless and you’re still seeking revenge?
Chapter 336: Chapter 336: You’re so useless and you’re still seeking revenge?
Shang Yu’s appearance, after all, was probably to be expected.
As Wen Shi knelt on the ground, despite his undignified state, a strong hatred burst forth from his blood-red eyes.
The circling helicopter stirred up a sky full of yellow sand, and within the hazy cloud of dust and smoke that rose up, the only scenery was the sight of the embracing man and woman.
Footsteps approached from afar, as Yun Lih, still in his grey shirt and dress pants, his tall stature and long legs lending him an exceptional aura, strode past the group of black-clad men who didn’t dare to make a move, squinted at the helicopter overhead, and, running his hand through the hair on his forehead, spoke irritably, "Shang Shaoyan, hurry up and let the chopper take off, I can barely keep my damn eyes open."
Yun Lih’s voice was thinned by the cutting wind under the rotors overhead, yet it was heard by both Li Qiao and Shang Yu.
Not only that, but even Tang Yiting, struggling to turn her head at the sound, caught sight of the two kissing and her eyes immediately lit up, My God, this is some juicy gossip.
Qiaoqiao was indeed with the big shot!
At this moment, Shang Yu finally released Li Qiao’s red lips, pressed the back of her head against his chest with his palm.
His Adam’s apple moved several times as he calmed himself down, then he lifted his arm slightly in mid-air and gestured, leading the helicopter pilot to immediately lift the aircraft higher.
The wind ceased, the sand scattered.
Within the light curtain of the searchlights, one could still see fine particles floating.
Free from the helicopter’s disturbance, Yun Lih wiped his face, his gaze fell on Li Qiao and he immediately smiled.
She too was wearing a grey suit, matching his own like a couple’s outfit.
Shang Yu bowed his head, lightly kissed the top of Li Qiao’s head, and after releasing her, tucked her behind his back.
Li Qiao stood to the side behind the man, sniffing softly, she touched her lips—her already wounded mouth corner seemed even more painful now.
Yun Lih flicked his shirt shoulder and with a raised eyebrow, looked sideways at Shang Yu, "What’s going on here?"
When he had just driven over, he noticed that something was not right here.
And who was that person tied up in the wheelchair?
With Yun Lih’s question, Shang Yu’s cold gaze drifted towards Wen Shi on the ground.
His tousled hair fell across his brows and eyes, casting a shadow as well.
Without a word, under Yun Lih’s puzzled gaze, Shang Yu abruptly raised his leg, his hard shoe heel mercilessly kicked Wen Shi’s chin.
The kick had great force, Wen Shi fell to the ground, his mouth bleeding while he spat out two teeth.
Seeing this, Yun Lih’s eyes flashed sharply, "He attacked Li Qiao?"
"Hmm," Shang Yu responded solemnly, looking down at Wen Shi from his superior position and spoke indifferently, "Quite bold."
Wen Shi spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, propped himself up from the ground to stand, the pain in his groin intensified with every movement, rendering him in agony.
He staggered to his feet, wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand, his gaze fierce, "Shang Shaoyan, did you ever think I was still alive after you killed my whole family?"
Yun Lih, with a hand on his hip, bent his knee and shook his leg in front of him, "You’re such a loser and yet you seek revenge?"
At those words, Wen Shi glared at Yun Lih, his breath quickening, his blood-red eyes masking some cautious thoughts.
He slowly closed his eyes, but instead of anger, he laughed, "Why can’t I? My family, the girl I liked, they were all taken away by Shang Shaoyan. Even if I have to risk this life, I’m not afraid."
Shang Yu’s handsome face visibly darkened, perhaps because of his mention of ’the girl I liked’.
Wen Shi swallowed, his mouth tasting of blood, and once again looked at Shang Yu, his expression smug, "Shang Shaoyan, you probably don’t know that Li Qiao loves the Mojito I make, and I think... you probably also don’t know her favorite..."
Before he could finish, Li Qiao, with her swollen lips, stepped out from behind Shang Yu and glanced coldly at Wen Shi, then turned and spoke to Shang Yu and Yun Lih, "It’s just a petty trick, don’t fall for it. I’m going to defuse the bomb."
Liuyun and Luoyu simultaneously stepped forward, "Miss Li, let me do it."
Li Qiao paused, and looked at them lightly, shaking her head, "No need."
It was because of her that Tang Yiting ended up being involved in the kidnapping.
Bomb defusal was something she must do, it was what she owed Tangtang.
If she were to let others handle it, Miss Li actually wouldn’t feel assured.
Yun Lih: "?"
He glanced over and that’s when he noticed the girl tied to the wheelchair had a bomb wrapped around her hand.
Countdown: Two minutes and one second.
Fuck!
Just as Yun Lih was about to step forward, a dark shadow beside him moved towards Li Qiao even faster.
He was too slow again.
Shang Yu reached Li Qiao’s side and, on the way, instructed Liuyun, "Keep an eye on him."
"Yes, boss."
As for those men in black who were stationed around Tang Yiting, they began to retreat at the sight of Li Qiao approaching.
A direct confrontation, they weren’t afraid of.
But the opponent had an armed helicopter, and that was damn terrifying.
If that rotating turret began firing, they wouldn’t have time to draw guns, much less go through their pockets.
Besides... they didn’t have guns.
A few seconds later, Li Qiao made her way to Tang Yiting, and seeing her tearful eyes, she gently patted her head, "Don’t be scared."
Tang Yiting nodded hurriedly, her eyes filled with admiration for Li Qiao.
Her boss Qiao was so cool, she nearly swooned.
Li Qiao bent down and gently peeled the tape from Tang Yiting’s mouth, then wiped the corners of her eyes, "Are you hurt anywhere?"
Tang Yiting gazed at Li Qiao, lips pressed together as she shook her head.
Seeing this, Li Qiao smiled, her fingers tapping her cheek lightly, "Can’t speak anymore?"
"Ah?" Tang Yiting snapped back to reality, took a deep breath, and then began sobbing, "Wuwuwu... Qiaoqiao..."
She had been terrified all the way, thinking she was going to die here, but fortunately, Li Qiao was there.
Tang Yiting had a lot she wanted to say but knew that now was not the best time to catch up.
She held her breath, tears streaming, and mouthed toward her back, hoarsely saying, "I-I’m fine, don’t worry about me, just disarm the bomb."
If Qiaoqiao said she could do it, then she definitely could.
This confidence stemmed from an unconditional trust in Li Qiao.
Li Qiao rubbed her cold cheeks, her tone filled with rare tenderness, "If you’re scared, close your eyes, and I’ll tell you when it’s safe."
Tang Yiting put on a brave front, mustering a somewhat stiff smile, "I’m not scared."
Yun Lih stood behind the wheelchair, watching Tang Yiting’s trembling legs still tied up, and pursed his thin lips seriously.
Quite strong.
Forget a girl; even grown men with bombs strapped to them might not be able to remain calm.
At that moment, Li Qiao squatted behind the chair, with only one minute and forty seconds left on the bomb’s red countdown display.
She closely inspected the bomb. During the countdown phase, the detonator was in a short circuit state, she just needed to find the correct wire to cut within the time limit.
Li Qiao curled her lips, this was a rather simple timed bomb, powerful yet not difficult to disarm.
"Can you manage? If not, I’ll do it." This was said by Yun Lih.
And Shang Yu stood half a meter behind her, his warm palm resting on her head, his voice deep and mellow as he asked, "Do you need help?"
