Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Calling You Intelligence Dog is Underestimating You
At 7:30 in the evening, a group of people returned to the manor at the foot of Paibo Mountain.
Shen Qingye strode down from the Lincoln car and surveyed the stately European-style manor from the cobblestone path at the entrance, clicking his tongue in wonder.
Such a large estate at the foot of the mountain, regardless of the cost of construction, clearly showed Shang Shaoyan’s position in Parma was no ordinary matter.
Next door, that was the Tribal Chief’s Mansion.
If they didn’t trust him enough, the Chief of Parma might not have allowed him to live here.
A few minutes later, Shang Yu and Li Qiao got out of the car. The man headed towards the porch of the entrance hall, and as he passed by Shen Qingye, he nodded and then walked past.
Shen Qingye watched his retreating figure and let out a faint laugh.
He was quite measured, knowing to give him and Li Qiao some space.
Thinking this, Shen Qingye felt Shang Shaoyan wasn’t so hateful after all.
Then, turning around, he saw Li Qiao standing a few steps away with her lips swollen and red.
Shen Qingye: "..."
To hell with not being hateful.
The damn Shang Shaoyan, the most hateful person in the whole world.
Shen Qingye, with his hands in his pockets and a twist at the corner of his mouth, snorted with a chuckle, "The world is going downhill, people’s hearts aren’t what they used to be, it’s an eyesore."
Li Qiao, who was pursing her lips and sucking air secretly: "..."
She lowered her head and rubbed her forehead, then gestured towards the flower beds not far away, "Let’s talk over there."
Shen Qingye stood still, with his hands in his pockets, and arrogantly raised his chin, "Why go over there? Can’t you talk in front of your boyfriend?"
In response to him was Li Qiao’s increasingly distant figure.
Shen Qingye stiffened his neck and, waiting for her to walk further away, took a deep breath and silently followed.
At the flower bed bench, the two sat one after another, instinctively lifting their right legs to cross over the left.
Li Qiao glanced at Shen Qingye and teased with a curved smile, "Young Director Shen of the Sixth Bureau, calling you Intelligence Dog seems a bit beneath your talent."
Upon hearing this, a nostalgic look appeared in Shen Qingye’s eyes.
It had been a long time since anyone had called him Intelligence Dog.
After leaving the border, he had returned to being the respected Young Director Shen of the Sixth Bureau.
But day after day, he longed for those carefree and indulgent days.
Shen Qingye swallowed, and after a while, he managed to suppress the surging emotions and joked with a relaxed face, "It’s not beneath my talent. Whether it’s Intelligence Dog or Young Director Shen, I’m forever the three sevenths of the border."
With a playful look in her eyes, Li Qiao turned to gaze towards the distant sky, "The Shang family tree you gave me before, is that information also from the Sixth Bureau?"
The Shang family tree and the encrypted message she had received at Shang’s old house had indeed come from Shen Qingye.
"Yes, it’s authentic, definitely no mistake." He spoke seriously about the matter at hand, "That family, with no end to their troubles, are you really sure you want to get involved?"
As he asked, Shen Qingye’s gaze became more focused.
He watched Li Qiao intently, not missing any flicker of expression on her face.
"Hmm, there’s nothing that needs contemplating," replied Li Qiao nonchalantly yet decisively.
Shen Qingye took a long look at her and, as he shifted his gaze, chuckled lightly, "Alright then, I won’t waste words. If you need any more information in the future, just let me know."
His words were a promise and his unconditional support.
Li Qiao turned to meet his eyes, raising an eyebrow, "Actually, I need your help with some investigating. I’ve already posted an information exchange on the black market."
Shen Qingye’s eyes showed surprise as he pretended to take out his phone from his pocket, mumbling, "What’s wrong with you, can’t you just tell me directly? Posting it is simply redundant."
"See for yourself first," said Li Qiao calmly, yet her eyes sparkled keenly.
