The Favored Heiress
Chapter 287: Tell Nan Xin, I’m at the Border

Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Tell Nan Xin, I’m at the Border

Qiu Huan’s explanation was watertight, and Li Qiao looked at him with a slightly flickering gaze, noncommittal.

At that moment, a manager not far away was taking a call with his back turned. When the call ended, he turned around and was suddenly startled to see Shang Yu and Qiu Huan together, pausing for a moment.

Even though he was accustomed to seeing all sorts of nobility and elite, he couldn’t help but feel a bit dazzled.

The two men before him were tall and well-proportioned, with handsome features, but above all, it was their haughty demeanor and the look of disdain in their actions that made it clear they were no ordinary men.

The manager composed himself and, with care, averted his gaze, hurriedly walking up to Li Qiao and bowing his head to say, "Miss, we have just received a notification from the control tower. The flight with the special call sign FA001 is about to take off, and our flight path 312 should be clear within half an hour."

As the words fell, Qiu Huan, who had been pacing forward, suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked back somberly at the business manager, his eyes filled with complexity.

Li Qiao shook her head, "No need, cancel the flight line. Just charge any incurred costs to my account."

The manager looked up in surprise, glancing at Shang Yu from the corner of his eye and quickly nodded, "Oh, alright, please let me know if there’s anything else you need."

...

In the blink of an eye, a party of people stepped aboard the neighboring waiting area’s Yan Emperor’s special plane.

A standard Boeing BBJ large business jet, more than three times larger than regular business aircraft.

Li Qiao entered the cabin and took a quick look around before heading straight to the bar.

At this moment, near the cabin door, Qiu Huan bumped Shang Yu with his shoulder and asked in a low voice, "Did you hear what that business manager said just now?"

"Hmm," Shang Yu stood still, eyeing his puzzled expression with his eyebrows lightly raised, "Is there a problem?"

Qiu Huan extended his thumb and gestured towards the cabin, "Don’t you think there’s a problem? Your lady, at twenty-two, already has her own private flight line? FA312, I didn’t hear wrong, did I?"

As far as he knew, even the heads of the South Sea Five Giants had only obtained their own private flight segments in recent years.

Li Qiao, a young woman who had just graduated, how did she manage to get one?

What’s more, the number FA312 indicated it was a custom designation.

Because even to this year, the numbering of private flight lines in the South Sea had only just reached FA104.

The reason Qiu Huan knew this so clearly was simply because FA104 was his, and it was the second private flight line under his name.

In the South Sea, as long as one had money and passed the inspection, one could own multiple private flight lines to different destinations.

He had two private flight line numbers, Ou Bai had one, and it seemed now Li Qiao had one too.

At that moment, Shang Yu looked lazily over at Qiu Huan, and a slight smile appeared on his thin lips, "Yeah, you didn’t hear it wrong."

Qiu Huan turned rigidly to look at the man, his Adam’s apple bobbing, not sure if he’d misunderstood or not, but what he could be certain of was that Shaoyan’s tone unmistakably carried a sense of vicarious pride.

...

Within less than ten minutes, the flight line received the command to take off.

Inside the cabin, Li Qiao sat in front of the small bar with a glass of brandy, sipping lightly.

Soon, Shang Yu and Qiu Huan walked in from the front cabin. The man frowned slightly when he saw her drinking.

Qiu Huan, however, leaned against the bar and observed Li Qiao without blinking.

After three seconds, Li Qiao swirled her glass and looked at him sideways, "Does Master Qiu need something?"

Qiu Huan pursed his lips, poured two glasses of drink, added ice cubes, and handed one to Shang Yu before speaking, "Miss, when did you get your private flight line number?"

Li Qiao took small sips from her drink and raised an eyebrow indifferently, "Which one are you talking about?"

Qiu Huan felt his knees go weak and almost collapsed.

He opened his mouth and stammered in response, "You, you have more than one?"

Then, Qiu Huan saw Li Qiao frowning in contemplation, tapping her glass, and finally gave an answer, "Seven."

Fine then.

Qiu Huan didn’t want to ask any further, fearing it would hurt his pride.

After all, he only had two flight lines himself, while she already had seven.

What’s this called? A display of overwhelming power.

And he could almost be certain that the flight route Li Qiao held was definitely not given to her by the Li Family.

As far as he remembered, Li Guangming had at most two.

The only one who could possibly overpower Li Qiao, he guessed, was Master Qiu.

After all, his FA001 had no global restrictions.

...

After two and a half hours of flying, the special plane arrived at the border international airport at four o’clock in the afternoon.

Since the border was a tri-junction international area, the apron and surrounding facilities were relatively rudimentary.

As the cabin door opened, the moist tropical monsoon climate assailed them.

At that moment, Li Qiao sat in the cabin without moving, and so did Shang Yu.

Only Qiu Huan, along with Liuyun and Luoyu, strode out with big steps.

Before leaving the plane, Qiu Huan stopped and turned around, looking back into the cabin with a teasing tone, "Well, I’m off then. If anything happens, you two better come to my rescue."

Li Qiao didn’t say a word as she looked down at her mobile phone, while Shang Yu sat opposite, his arm resting on the back of the sofa, his gaze deep as he watched his girl.

Qiu Huan snorted indignantly and stepped out of the cabin door.

Silence spread within the cabin.

Li Qiao fiddled with her phone absent-mindedly, seemingly waiting for something.

"Not planning to go down and take a look?" Shang Yu lifted his chin slightly, his voice mellowed with alcohol, becoming increasingly rich and magnetic.

Li Qiao shook her head and glanced out the porthole, saying softly, "Troublesome."

The moment her words fell, the phone rang.

Li Qiao looked down at it, and without avoiding Shang Yu, she picked it up, "Speak."

Whatever the person on the other end said, Li Qiao’s originally calm eyes suddenly swirled with stormy emotions.

She still looked out the porthole, but now a murderous aura emerged in her eyes, "Who did it?"

After hearing the cause and effect, Li Qiao closed her eyes for a moment, her fingertips rubbing against each other as she commanded, "Bring out Li San and escort him to the border international airport."

Her words were firm and resounding, and with her frosty tone, a chilling air seemed to permeate the entire cabin.

At this moment, there was silence on the phone for a few seconds before the person on the other end cautiously asked, "And if it’s... Nan Xin who’s stopping us?"

"Tell her, I’m at the border," Li Qiao said with a lift of her lips, her smile dangerous.

That brief exchange revealed the rare anger of Li Qiao.

She tossed the phone onto the sofa, her exquisite face icy and stern.

Li San had been shot in the head and remained comatose up to now.

Well done, Nan Xin. As his capable right-hand woman, not only did you fail to protect Li San, but you also found an underling skilled in ventriloquism in an attempt to pull the wool over our eyes.

Fine, very fine.

Li Qiao’s fingers tightened, her eyelids lifting inch by inch to reveal the rolling waves beneath.

She seemed to forget where she was, her mind completely occupied by the news of Li San’s traumatic brain injury and his comatose state.

Shortly after, a sigh by her ear startled Li Qiao back to her senses.

Her pupils contracted as she turned her head, catching the crisp scent of Shang Yu and his soothing bass voice, "The brain specialists at Yan Emperor International Hospital are already on standby."

Li Qiao’s breath hitched, and she snapped back to her senses with surf in her eyes, "What, what?"

Shang Yu’s profound gaze met hers, the perfect curve of his lips forming a light smile.

He grasped Li Qiao’s hand and placed it on his knee, his knuckles weaving through her fingers, his voice carrying a reasuring solidity, "Li San from the border won’t die so easily."
