Chapter 278: Chapter 278: You and Yun Lih Didn’t Arrange to Fight, Did You?

Before long, Li Qiao returned to the laboratory.

The sky had gradually darkened; it was approaching eight in the evening.

She said farewell to Shang Yu inside the car, and before leaving, she looked back at him, "You and Yun Lih... didn’t agree to fight, did you?"

The scene of them confronting each other earlier had been interrupted by her, and based on what Li Qiao knew about Yun Lih, it was very likely they would arrange to fight in private.

At this moment, the warm light shone into Shang Yu’s eyes as he looked at Li Qiao’s doubtful expression. He raised his hand to smooth the stray hair by her ear, his thin lips curving slightly, "No, I don’t have time."

His implication was that even if Yun Lih asked him for a private fight, Shang Yu might not agree to see him.

Upon hearing this, Li Qiao suppressed a smile and leaned over to peck his face before getting out of the car, "Then I’m off, good night."

The man watched Li Qiao get out of the car and walk away before he withdrew his gaze, his eyelids drooping slightly as a faint smile hung on the edge of his lips.

...

In the dorm, Li Qiao lay back on her bed, tired to the bone.

She hadn’t turned on the light, and was looking at the ceiling above through the dim light from outside the window.

She didn’t even know where Yun Lih had gone.

He was a stranger in South Sea, and it wasn’t so much that she was worried about him, but... she wanted to chat with him about the grudge with Shang Yu and how they could potentially wipe the slate clean.

Li Qiao sighed silently and somewhat irritably ran her fingers through her hair.

In fact, she had tried calling Yun Lih while at Crystal Garden, but his cell phone had gone unanswered.

After some thought, Li Qiao decided to log into the ICC system to see if she could locate any member coordinates.

But just as she opened the page, her phone rang.

It was from Li Shaoquan.

Li Qiao frowned, her voice slow as she picked up, "What is it?"

From the receiver, Li Shaoquan seemed to have caught a cold, sniffing heavily before speaking with thick nasal congestion, "I found the surveillance footage you asked me to look into the other day."

Li Qiao stayed silent for two seconds before she remembered asking Li Shaoquan to check the surveillance footage of the car accident at the intersection.

It had been three or four days since,

She rested one hand behind her head and swung her feet slightly at the edge of the bed, her lips twisting, "You’re getting slower and slower."

Li Shaoquan, holding his forehead and coughing twice, complained bitterly, "Can’t you be nicer to sick people?"

Li Qiao ignored his complaint and asked, "What did you find?"

"I’ve sent screenshots of the video and photo grabs to your email. You can look for yourself. But just to be clear, it’s not that my skills are lacking; it’s that the tint on the rear window of that Mercedes was too dark. I could only capture the person’s facial profile.

Don’t worry, though. I’ve already put it into the database for a facial feature comparison. As long as she’s alive, we can definitely find information."

Li Shaoquan grumbled a bunch, to which Li Qiao simply replied with three words, "Got it."

After hanging up the phone, Li Qiao logged into her email. Even before she could open the mail, another message from Li Shaoquan popped up on WeChat: You’re heartless!

Li Qiao didn’t respond to him and opened the surveillance footage he had sent. As she suspected, that evening she had been in a hurry to get to South Sea Mountain.

From the turning traces of the Mercedes, it was evident that during her acceleration, someone had intentionally hit her from the diagonally back side, a classic hit and run.

Li Qiao narrowed her eyes as she watched the video a few times, then opened the blurred image.

From the profile and the pearl earrings, the woman in the back seat was likely not young.

It was too much of a coincidence that her car was hit and that there happened to have been trouble at South Sea Mountain the same evening.

After some contemplation, Li Qiao thought of someone.

She returned to WeChat and sent a message to Li Shaoquan.

Li Qiao: Check the information on Shang Qiongying.

This woman, she suspected, was Shang Qiongying.

If the Mercedes driver had intentionally hit her car, did that mean... Shang Qiongying had already taken notice of her?
