Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Master Yan Invites

About fifteen minutes later, Li Qiao had finished the two cans of beer on the table.

She stood up and approached the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing into the dense, dark night, fingering her phone, and opened her contacts list.

Having come to an understanding about many things, Li Qiao suddenly wanted to call Shang Yu and hear his voice.

However, before she could dial the number, the doorbell of Tangxi Garden rang unexpectedly.

Li Qiao paused in motion, a trace of confusion flashing through her eyes.

The villa at Tangxi Garden was her own domain.

Besides Li San, not even her parents knew about it. Who would come over at this time?

Li Qiao stood still, but the insistent sound of the doorbell continued to ring in her ears.

After a few seconds of thought, she returned to the coffee table, took an elastic band, and tied her half-dried hair behind her head, her gaze cold as she walked toward the garden outside.

It wasn’t even eight-thirty yet, and standing outside was the solemn-looking Liuyun.

His forehead was sweaty, his eyes especially deep. The moment he saw Li Qiao, he nodded and said, "Miss Li, I apologize for the interruption."

"What’s the matter?" Li Qiao suppressed the surprise at the bottom of her heart and asked indifferently.

If it was Liuyun who had found her address, it wouldn’t be too surprising.

At that moment, Liuyun pursed his lips and his Adam’s apple moved. "Miss Li, Master Yan requests your presence."

What was different this time was that Liuyun referred to Shang Yu as Master Yan, rather than ’boss’ or ’master.’

Li Qiao, puzzled, didn’t ask further and looked up at the gloomy night sky. "Right now?"

Liuyun uttered an "Mm" and with a gesture of his hand, indicated toward a spot not far away, "The helicopter is nearby. Miss Li, please follow me."

Li Qiao: "..."

How urgent could it be that he actually had sent a helicopter to pick her up?

Li Qiao sighed softly, glanced down at her attire, and said, "Wait a few minutes for me. I need to change."

Liuyun watched Li Qiao’s figure returning to the villa, a heavy concern congealing in his eyes.

Master Yan had given him one hour to find Miss Li, but now two hours had passed.

Probably no one expected that Miss Li had another lodging point at the Tangxi Garden villa.

Especially since she had turned off her phone and even parked her Mercedes near the sports field in the Eastern Suburbs.

If he hadn’t found her phone’s location half an hour ago, tonight... Master Yan might have completely lost his temper.

...

Five minutes later, Li Qiao, dressed in a comfortable white shirt and jeans with her hair tied in a neat ponytail, followed Liuyun to the helicopter parked near Tangxi Square.

Warning tapes were put up around Tangxi Square, and the helicopter’s dark fuselage glistened coldly under the streetlights.

Four bodyguards stood waiting on both sides. This imposing scene seemed a bit off!

Li Qiao slowed her pace and looked askance at Liuyun, tense in his demeanor. "What happened tonight?"

Liuyun’s gaze dropped. He did not look at Li Qiao and spoke vaguely, "You’ll know when you get there."

He didn’t know how to answer that question, nor was he clear on what Li Qiao was about to face.

The helicopter’s rotors started, and the loud noise was uncomfortable to the ears.

Li Qiao put on noise-canceling headphones and calmly sat by the window, lost in thought.

Fifteen minutes later, the aircraft approached South Sea Mountain.

But it was not South Sea Mansion.

Li Qiao looked through the window at the pitch-black mountain peaks, and she thought she could discern a hidden valley nestled among the mountain ridges.

From high above, the valley seemed spacious, but the view was too dim for Li Qiao to distinguish the specific direction.

She could only see South Sea Mansion far on the other end, through layers of hazy, tiered clouds.

Tonight, everything seemed peculiar.

As the helicopter landed and the rotors slowly came to a halt, Liuyun opened the cabin door and leaped out first. "Miss Li, please."
